Harris Attacks DeSantis Because He Won’t Take Her Phone Calls Over Hurricane Milton

Harris Attacks DeSantis Because He Won’t Take Her Phone Calls Over Hurricane Milton

DeSantis responded: “I didn’t know that she had called. I’m not sure who they called. They didn’t call me.

So VP Kamala Harris complained that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis won’t take her phone calls regarding Hurricane Milton.

The category five hurricane is barreling toward Florida. It should make landfall on Wednesday.

Look, Harris, you’re not the president. After the Biden administration’s failure with Hurricane Helene, do you honestly think DeSantis would give you the time of day?

DeSantis kicked butt preparing for Helene.

Harris said:

HARRIS: “You know, moments of crisis, if nothing else, should really be the moment that anyone who calls themselves a leader says they’re going to put politics aside and put the people first. People are in desperate need of support right now. And playing political games at this moment in these crisis situations, these are the height of the emergency situations. It’s just utterly irresponsible, and it is selfish, and it is about political gamesmanship instead of doing the job that you took an oath to do, which is to put the people first.”

DeSantis said he didn’t know Harris called him:

At a press conference Monday afternoon, DeSantis denied that he refused to take Harris’ call.

“I didn’t know that she had called,” he said. “I’m not sure who they called. They didn’t call me. Their characterization of it was something that they did. It wasn’t anything that anybody in my office did, in terms of saying it was political.”

NBC News cited an anonymous source in its report about the supposed diss:

A source familiar with the situation said he was dodging the Democratic presidential nominee’s calls because they “seemed political,” according to a DeSantis aide.

“Kamala was trying to reach out, and we didn’t answer,” the DeSantis aide told NBC News.

The same person said “not to my knowledge” when asked if DeSantis had spoken to President Joe Biden.

This statement is the absolute height of hubris. DeSantis’ administration has been extremely efficient in dealing with the aftermath of Helene, and I’m pretty damned sure he’s very busy dealing with the inbound Milton.
I think most everyone in W NC will tell you just how much Harris and Biden “put the people first.” That’s only true if you’re in Ukraine or Lebanon.

I want to personally thank FKH for sending the unmarked United States Military Blackhawk. Squawk 6453, call sign: FURY147 which rotor washed supplies in Burnsville, N.C. at a known staging area with a no-fly over agreement. The wash sent gear, tents, other supplies flying all over the place. This came after two unmarked Fed cars cruised into the area then left. Video of the action is circulating. I’d permanently revoke his or he pilot’s license and ship him to Ukraine for front line combat.

This is the Appalachian Holodomor in action.

So DeSantis is busy doing his job while Kamala plays politics, but his putting people first rather than taking her calls is him playing politics not her?

Classic Leftist projection!

Taking a call from a Veep, when you have a POTUS who should be calling is like complaining about a store clerk to the janitor instead of the store manager.

    I live in Florida.
I watched DeSantis news conference when he was asked.
He basically said, I’ve spoken to the President, everything we had requested, he approved.
I have a Cat 5 storm headed this way and we are still recovering from a Cat 4 storm.
I didn’t know she called, but why was she calling?

Exactly what purpose would be served by the governor taking a call from the VP?

Literally no purpose at all, other than to allow that stupid woman to claim some sort of credit for the recovery, none of which is due to her actions.

I’m skeptical that any of this is true, including the anonymous “aide” who claimed DeSantis was refusing her calls.

Just an opportunity to diss DeSantis and pretend she’s in charge.

The dei head of FEMA deferred to Governor DeSantis today during her press conference with the left wing Mayor of Tampa. She even said that the Governor is already ahead of the curve. Harris is a complete idiot. Makes Gilligan look like a MENSA candidate. FKH

Hang on, Lalala, I’m trying to get hurricane Helene victims on the phone. Anyone got a setup to Starlink?

She has nothing to add to the situation. She doesn’t know crap about disaster relief, or much else. She’s just looking for a phone call photo op that she can go around claiming she’s in communication with the affected governors.

My guess is the question was planted so she could rip DeSantis to score cheap political points.

Why waste time talking to her? We already know she won’t do anything for a red straight or Trump voters. If you ain’t a communist she ain’t going to help you

As a Floridian who has gone through more than a dozen hurricanes, I can tell you right now that most of us here want the focus to be on preparing for the hurricane, before it hits, while it hits and after. Any attention away from this massive storm from a sniveling little girl who is the Vice President is beyond unconscionable! We have ZERO patience for someone’s feelings being hurt.

“Any attention away from this massive storm from a sniveling little girl who is the Vice President is beyond unconscionable!”

As a fellow Floridian in the western Big Bend area who has been impacted by three named hurricanes in the last year, you are 100% correct. “Sniveling little girl” is an apt description.
She is guilty of the exact thing she accuses DeSantis of: trying to score political points while an inbound catastrophe is burgeoning.
She, along with Biden, is despicable. She must be defeated in November.

Ya’ know, there is a very real possibility that this is just a matter of Kamala not knowing how to use a phone.
