Firefighters Union Won’t Endorse Harris or Trump for President
The union leaders said that they chose not to endorse either one “by a margin of 1.2%.”
The International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) refused to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Donald Trump for president.
The union endorsed President Joe Biden in 2020.
The union leaders said they chose not to endorse either one “by a margin of 1.2%.”
“The IAFF Executive Board determined that we are better able to advocate for our members and make progress on the issues that matter to them if we, as a union, are standing shoulder-to-shoulder,” explained General President Edward Kelly. “This decision, which we took very seriously, is the best way to preserve and strengthen our unity.”
Many unions have endorsed Harris, but the IAFF’s non-endorsement is as devastating as the Teamsters’ non-endorsement.
Mike wrote about how the Teamsters’ non-endorsement of Harris worried Democrats. I wonder if the IAFF’s non-endorsement will do the same.
The union mourned the day Biden dropped out of the race via Hot Air:

And, when a fire fighter makes the ultimate sacrifice, President Biden’s work has ensured their families receive the benefits they deserve.
“He is undoubtedly the greatest President fire fighters and emergency medical workers have ever had. Our membership – and the communities we serve – will forever be in his debt.
Many described the 2024 choice “as a win for Trump and a failure for Harris.”

Not endorsing Brown Diversity Hillary is as good as endorsing Trump.
On the other hand, had these nutless ball sacks been somewhat intellectually honest they would have endorsed Trump. But leftists are leftists and I guess a non-endorsement is as good as an endorsement.

Not endorsing the Democrat is the same as endorsing the Republican for a union.
Sure, the members may want to endorse Trump, but a presidency only lasts four years and the Democrats will still be around. They will not forget an endorsement for a Republican. The best long term move for the union leadership is indeed to endorse no one.
