FEMA set up a “Rumor Control” webpage for people to snitch on those who spread the truth about the agency’s mishandling of funds, choosing illegal aliens over American citizens.
The mainstream media has stepped in, desperately attempting to shield both FEMA and the Biden-Harris administration from revelations that millions of dollars in indirect aid went to support the needs of the massive influx of illegal aliens.
For example, this passage appeared in The Washington Post.
During a rally Thursday in Saginaw, Mich., former president Donald Trump suggested without evidence that FEMA had used some disaster relief money to help immigrants who are in the country illegally to resettle in the United States. There is no evidence that FEMA has diverted any disaster relief funding for this purpose.“They stole the FEMA money, just like they stole it from a bank, so they could give it to their illegal immigrants that they want to have vote for them this season,” Trump said.
The trouble is that there are receipts, such as this FEMA webpage, touting the $640 million given in indirect aid to FEMA as part of its Shelter and Services Program (SSP).
Others brought even more receipts.
Then, there are stories like this one about a San Diego Migrant Welcome Center….paid for buy a FEMA grant.
The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 Tuesday to accept nearly $19.6 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to pay for a migrant transition day center to help immigrants entering the United States travel to their final destinations.Supervisors on April 30 voted 4-1 to advance the proposal, after directing Sarah Aghassi, interim chief administrative officer, to begin programs to temporarily provide shelter, food, transportation, acute medical care, personal hygiene supplies and labor to support migrants recently released from federal Department of Homeland Security custody.
Let me stress: FEMA was originally tasked to respond to disasters such as river floods…not a man-caused disaster, such as the flood of illegal immigrants.
Now, let’s address those “rumors” about Americans only getting $750 in recovery aid.
It comes from Vice President Kamala Harris’ own words:
During her speech, Harris mentioned the cash disbursements as one part of a larger relief effort.”And the federal relief and assistance that we have been providing has included FEMA providing $750 for folks who need immediate needs being met, such as food, baby formula, and the like. And you can apply now,” she said.
Granted, it’s not all the recovery money an American can get. But it begs the question: How, exactly, do you apply with no home, no electricity, and no mail service?
Perhaps there is a reason Americans have reverted to more traditional recovery methods.
And there are reports that applications are being denied.
Meanwhile, citizens in Ukraine enjoy light and heat on the American dime.
And FEMA isn’t the only agency with issues, either.
Meanwhile, X remains the source of information and updates on regions impacted by Hurricane Helene. The elite press and its “disinformation” tactics will not work this time.
