The Onion posted one of the worst tweets I’ve ever seen on Twitter, and to make it worse, the tweet has over 80,000 likes.
The shooter at Donald Trump’s rally murdered firefighter Corey Comperatore and injured David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74.
He missed killing Trump by millimeters.
As I said, it has over 80,000 likes.

Much like morality plays of the middle ages, it’s not the acting or the writing or the jokes themselves to be applauded. It’s the side of the fight you’re on at the end of the play – you’re all good progressives, right? So you rooted against Trump, right?
The hatred for Trump has no limits.
Its hatred for us, as well.
The Onion was funny 20 years ago…now it is a sad parody come true.
It stopped being funny when it got sold off to Carlos Slim or whoever.
I didn’t think it was funny which I expect from everything out of the Onion now but I wasn’t offended. It was a poor attempt at a joke that didn’t land. If you want actual humor The Bee is where to go. The Onion is a dumpster fire of woke not funny.
When the Onion was in its prime, no one had heard of the Bee. Shortly after the Onion started screwing the pooch, the Bee moved into its old niche and owned it,
Those hateful tweets are anonymous. Some people speak that way just to enrage others. It is a symptom of todays ‘Yellow Journalism’ which in its heyday propelled the US into a war..
See the justification from some of the X users saying it was gallows humor and we should lighten up. Actually it wasn’t, they showed us how much they hate us; even innocent people who were there. To them, we’re not innocent because we support Trump, so we are just as bad as he is and a target.
These same type of people would happily cheer as deplorables are hauled off to reeducation camps in the southwest.
If Dem deplorables were sent to camps in the middle of some desert, there would be few Dems left.
The same people applaud and simultaneously deny the mass murders, torture, kidnappings, gang rapes and corpse abuse of October 7, ridicule the victims and their families and tell us they had it coming.
It’s one thing for people who are in a crisis or have just come through a crisis to embrace dark comedy about that crisis, frequently called ‘gallows-humour.’ It’s a coping mechanism. This isn’t that. This is punching down on victims of a horrific atrocity to score a very cheap political point.
The deceased’s family should give The Onion the Alex Jones treatment.
It’s not funny because it scores only one of the following points; you need to score three for a joke.

Cruelty is part of humor but you need two other qualities in the joke as well.

Immediately after the assassination attempt on Trump, progs were crying “It was all a fake!”
When anyone responded with how can it be fake with the shooter immediately shot, 1 attendee dead and 2 more wounded by the bullets, the proggie reply was “See? Trump doesn’t care if other people get killed!”
You cannot argue with people who can simultaneously believe it was all theater and at the same time true enough to callously kill people

What the Onion’s tweet should have done was spark a national conversation on how suspicious the Biden junta’s “reaction” to the fortunately-timed (for them) attempted assassination of the leading opposition candidate (and former President) was when they, basically, did NOTHING and went on with life as usual. The Secret Service should have been turned upside down and one of the most intense investigations in American history should have been kicked off … but, instead, the Biden junta and propaganda media just started Operation Ignore Assassination and pretended that nothing ever happened.
Biden and Harris and the entire junta never bothered to contact Corey Comparatore’s family or the other two people who were gravely injured – the same way they all had studiously ignored the families of the Abbey Gate victims. It was all very strange – i.e. SUSPICIOUS – for an attempted assassination that Trump only survived by PURE LUCK and that took place at a weirdly opportune time for Traitor Joe and his junta …
They are only disappointed that it was so few people in body bags that day.
Think about it. If you are on the side that wants desperately to have a federal right to murder your child as a form of birth control, the murder of an anonymous citizen is so insignificant as to be laughable. Millions of warped children- 41,000 of whom replied.
