Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) lashed out at Teamsters President Sean O’Brien because the union did not endorse Donald Trump or Kamala Harris.
The national Teamsters leaders claimed the union could not reach a clear consensus, even though internal polling showed 60% supported Trump.
Then the union said no endorsement came because neither candidate made “serious commitments to our union to ensure the interests of working people are always put before Big Business.”
State Teamsters chapters have endorsed Harris.
Well, O’Brien hit back on CNN:
O’Brien: She should maybe get in her district where they voted far Republican, far-right Republican and maybe find out what the problem is. When I have a problem at a worksite and there is criticism I get right in there and find out what it is.Bash: What do you mean far-right Republican? She’s a Democrat. Oh, you mean among Teamsters.O’Brien: In our polling, New York, her district, voted overwhelmingly Republican to support former President Donald Trump. So she may want to focus on her job instead of mine.
