Report: ‘Police Leaders’ Group Hailed by Harris Campaign is New, Run by Anti-Gun Democrats

Daily Caller: “All five of the people sitting on the organization’s board of directors, which includes Hoffman, are either Democrats or have a history of making liberal statements.”

So much of the Harris-Walz presidential campaign is fake, phony, all smoke and mirrors, and most definitely style over substance.

Voters are supposed to be bowled over, mesmerized by the “vibes” candidacy of Kamala Harris, who pledged in her cringe MSNBC interview earlier this week that “if you have the dreams and the ambitions and the aspirations of what I believe you do, you’re in my plan.”

Harris, of course, has aspirations of being the next President of the United States. And she and her campaign have been willing to say just about anything in hopes of getting her there, including at points even adopting policy ideas from GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump as her own.

The latest instance comes courtesy of an endorsement from the Police Leaders for Community Safety (PLCS), which the group announced Monday:

In a press release Monday, chairwoman Sue Riseling expressed the organization’s support for Harris.

“This endorsement reflects Vice President Harris’ track record and unwavering commitment to public safety and the rule of law,” Riseling said. “As police leaders who have led law enforcement agencies and the major national law enforcement leadership groups, we know first-hand what it will take to make our communities safer – and that includes having Kamala Harris as our next president.”

In the original Fox News report on the endorsement, they were referred to by the network as a “leading law enforcement group”:

Fox also characterized them in their report as “nonpartisan”:

A nonpartisan police leadership organization that notes that it is the only national law enforcement advocacy group to endorse political candidates is weighing in on the 2024 White House race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.

The Police Leaders for Community Safety said Monday that it is endorsing Harris, in an announcement shared first with Fox News.

The Harris-Walz Twitter/X account liked the framing, and used it themselves:

The problem with all of this is that though the group is comprised of around four dozen retired law enforcement officials, The Daily Caller did some digging and found out that not only is the group newly formed – as of June, but it is run by anti-gun Democrats, some of whom have no law enforcement experience:

Here’s more from their story:

All five of the people sitting on the organization’s board of directors, which includes Hoffman, are either Democrats or have a history of making liberal statements. Despite this, Police Leaders for Community Safety describes itself as a “nonpartisan national advocacy organization.”

[…]

Police Leaders for Community Safety vice chair Rick Myers, meanwhile, has used his LinkedIn account to advocate for expanded gun control, calling AR-15s “weapons of mass destruction,” and describing the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot as an “insurrection.”

The bio on Hoffman’s website notes her work on gun control measures:

From 1987 to 1992, as Legislative Director for Handgun Control, Inc., she led the historic legislative campaigns to pass the Brady Bill and assault weapons ban, winning unprecedented victories against the powerful gun lobby.

The good news is that Fox News went in and updated their story after inexplicably referring to PLCS as “leading” and “nonpartisan.”

The bad news is that Kamala HQ reverted back to their usual position of being quiet when confronted with uncomfortable questions:

For the record, Fox News wasn’t the only news outlet that botched their story. NJ.com‘s headline was a real headscratcher as well – and as of this writing, is still up:

All of that said, even if they were “nonpartisan” and had been around for a while, comments like these would disqualify their endorsement in my book:

‘Nuff said.

Everything about Harris is manufactured. She’s as fake as a cock flavoured lollipop.

There’s enough astroturf in this campaign to re-sod every sports field in America.

Not even surprising that everything that touches the communist prostitute is as fake as she is.

“group is comprised of around four dozen retired law enforcement officials”
Does “around four dozen” mean 51? Uh huh.

If AR-15s are “weapons of mass destruction,” then why are police armed with them?

And why are actual armies not?

I’ve been a cop for over 25 years and a point I’ve made with countless libtards who call the AR-15 a “weapon of war,” is I’ve carried both it and the Ruger Mini-14 as patrol carbines. They both fire. .223, they both are semiautomatic, both have detachable magazines with 30 rounds or more available. But the Ruger is associated with hunting and sports shooting more, while the ArmaLite Rifle is only for mass shootings, etc.

Personally I find the Ruger has a better iron sight than the AR, but the AR-15 does take abuse better.

It’s standard Communist protocol: create multiple “independent” astroturf groups to agitate for the changes you want, and try not to make it obvious that they are all ludicrously small and share the same members.

Wikipedia: “A report of the Special Committee on Un-American Activities of the United States House of Representatives published a four-pronged definition of a “Communist front” in March 1944. Frequently repeated in official government documents, this definition asserted that Communist fronts shared (1) a common origin; (2) organization upon a “Communist pattern”; (3) interlocking personnel; and (4) methods intended to deceive the public.”
