Merchan Delays Trump Sentencing to November 26
Trump: “The Manhattan D.A. Witch Hunt has been postponed because everyone realizes that there was NO CASE, I DID NOTHING WRONG!”

Judge Juan Merchan delayed Donald Trump’s sentencing in the hush money case to November 26 from September 18.
From Fox News:
“The public’s confidence in the integrity of our judicial system demands a sentencing hearing that is entirely focused on the verdict of the jury and the weighing of aggravating and mitigating factors free from distraction or distortion,” Merchan said in a letter Friday.
“Unfortunately, we are now at a place in time that is fraught with complexities rendering the requirements of a sentencing hearing, should one be necessary, difficult to execute. Thus, in accordance with certain of the grounds submitted by Defendant and the reasons for adjournment provided by the People coupled with the unique time frame this matter currently finds itself in, the decision on the [motion] and the imposition of sentence will be adjourned to avoid any appearance – however unwarranted – that the proceeding has been affected by or seeks to affect the approaching Presidential election in which the Defendant is a candidate,” Merchan said.
A jury found Trump guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree.
“There should be no sentencing in the Manhattan DA’s Election Interference Witch Hunt,” stated Steven Cheung, Trump campaign spokesperson. “As mandated by the United States Supreme Court, this case, along with all of the other Harris-Biden Hoaxes, should be dismissed.”

Soviet Show Trial … it took just 30 years after the USSR fell for the commies to take such power in America. Merchan is one of the most dangerous people in America – though there are lots and lots and lots of others who are with him in pushing this Sovietization/Maoist transformation of America.
Most of the population does not seem to realize how close we are to the precipice of an abyss that America has never really contemplated. And yet much of America treats this all so frivolously. Most people don’t even seem to remember that they tried to assassinate Trump just two months ago and that no one has been held responsible in any way and nothing has really been changed since – when the Secret Service, DHS and DOJ should have been turned upside down because of that event.
Sadly, most of the population is concerned with the latest navel piercing of a Kardashian.
But I think people are waking up, hopefully before the vile early/mail in fraud begins, and Harris has a chance to put her agenda into the public, If that ever happens.
You have to vote for the candidate before you can see what she really stands for (if you haven’t been paying attention).
“These are my principles, and if you don’t like them, I have others.” –
Merchan
He feels the same way about the law.
Merchan and Bragg and both of their offices all need to be arrested and tried for election interference and abuse of power, along with millions of other charges (charged for every single person in America affected by their crimes). It would probably take 10 or twenty years to put these cases together but they can sit in jail like the Jan 6th people while they await the cases being assembled.
This is what they deserve and what America deserves. If these criminals are not punished for their heinous crimes then America will not make it.
All they really needed was the “convicted felon” soundbite.
They know it is a sham and will be overturned.
Not because of any actual legal reason. Because they intend to throw him in prison, and to do that now would make Democrats look bad before an election.
It would make them look like the communists they are.
Can’t have that before the election.
And because it would put the spot life on Merchans daughter making over 10 million connected to this travesty
This leaves 2 questions..If Trump wins, then what? Will this Judge try to put an Elected President in Jail? Or shift it to a large fine? Or something softer hoping Trump wont take it to appeal so the Left can continue to claim Trump is a Felon?
Of if Trump loses, Will Merchan throw the book at him as a warning to everyone else to stay out of the pool, lest they too be destroyed.
Third question. If Trump is found guilty and sentenced, and it is believed to not be legitimate by a plurality or a majority of Americans [not counting foreign invaders] what will be the result?
Subotai Bahadur
If Trump wins, when the ball is back in Merchan’s court, who would he rather anger – the DA or tens of millions of Americans? Aside from the trouble so many people can cause, it only takes one “highly motivated” Trump supporter to conclude Merchan’s part in this story, if you understand what I mean. Is he willing to risk that?
I don’t think he cares, he is so corrupt that he will sentence Trump to prison.
He will start caring very soon. Jim Jordan issued a subpoena for his daughter and Elise Stefanik filed an ethics complaint against him.
You fight lawfare with lawfare
Democrat pukes love to yammer on about “The Resistance.”
They won’t at all enjoy actually finding out that it isn’t them.
To question 1 I believe that the Court would suspend the sentence, or something similar, and punt to the next court.
Politically it indicates the Da are not entirely confident the election will produce the correct result
“so the Left can continue to claim Trump is a Felon?”
Why should we care what the hypocrites claim?
Marion Barry, Alcee Hastings, Buddy Cianci… Democrats continually elect and re-elect actual FELON felons to office.
So whenever anybody brings up the “felon” BS to Trump, he should look back over his shoulder and give the same evil grin Biden gave his conviction.
I want to see Democrat heads explode when he does it.
This is Merchant saving his dinner invitations in NYC. If Trump loses, he can dismiss the case due to the inadmissible evidence and throw it back to Bragg to start the process over, as the primary mission of the charges is complete.. If Trump wins, he can dismiss the case as well, as his decision was not the reason for the win/loss. He could also hand down a sentence, but that would likely prove more problematic in terms of appeals.
The Democrats are going back to basics, election fraud and Russian collusion. And if President Trump wins, then they can go back to lawfare as a backup plan.
And don’t forget outright lying and projection. They always have the lies, and point the finger at the victim as the perp.
I love it when a (blue) plan falls apart.
The only way out of this for them is for them to accuse the Russians of being antiabortion.
Oh, wow…
The internal polls must be worse than I thought.
Merchan doesn’t want any more fuel on the fire. He knows this trial won’t survive an impartial review.
Wasn’t supposed to survive the NY State Court of Appeals, it wouldn’t manage to get there before November.. The lower appeals court could uphold the joke of a trial if needed to drag out the schedule.
Because of two gigantic problems with the case – the Immunity decision and preemption problems created by Bragg – there’s some chance, maybe even a good chance that the federal appellate courts could get involved before the NYS Court of Appeals. Trump’s team has already opened the door by filing a suit to stop the sentencing.
I hope he is afraid of consequences.
In the September date my bet would be a %100 chance Marchan would have Trump booked into Rykers, in November it’s only if the fraud can win out.
There is a decent chance even by that date we still could be seeing the election to be fighting out.
Like I’ve said before, I hate and despise judges like Juan Merchan, but I do applaud them when they do something good, which is almost never, but in this case was the right thing to do.
The right thing was to have dismissed the case before it saw the light of day. I’ll not pat this moron on the back as this case should never have gotten this far to begin with.
It was a CYA move, that also happened to be the right thing to do.
I would love to know who from the DOJ is conferring, thereby colluding with Merchan.
Is it McCord or the attack dog Weisman?
If a defendant asks for either a trial to be moved or a judge be replaced due to conflict of interest shouldn’t someone other than that judge make the decision?
In most states (maybe every state), motions to recuse are heard by the trial judge (the judge who’s being asked to recuse). If that judge denies that motion, the moving party will be allowed to immediately appeal (interlocutory appeal) that denial, in most jurisdictions. Lawyers have wanted reform in the recusal process for decades.
Oh, ok. I would like a reform of that process cutting out the judge entirely and moving directly to a panel of judges out of that judges jurisdiction/circuit etc.
Sentencing in Merchan’s kangaroo court before the election could be a bad optic for the Khamaleesi, and could his daughter’s fund raising and job standing with the Ka’llama-Kommie Tim campaign.
Don’t look at this from the judge’s perspective as it pertains to the law or the legal process. Look at this instead from above — from the perspective of the Law Fare participants in the Democrat Party, the DoJ and the intelligence agencies.
Their mission is to prevent Trump from interfering with the system as it is constituted. They used various methods in furtherance of their objectives: suing Trump into bankruptcy (the NYS “fraud” lawsuit and the EJ Carroll thing), the classified documents thing, the election fraud conspiracy in Georgia, etc. They also tried the political process approach to defeat him in the primaries by recruiting Governor DeSantis. All those approaches failed except one: the Stormy Daniels case.
Now that that case is the only tool the government has to put a check on Trump, it has to be used very very judiciously. And sentencing Trump before the election wastes that advantage. Since it is almost assured that Trump will win the election, word went out to New York to delay the sentencing. Instead, it is more advantageous to keep it in reserve to use when Trump is in office.
The goal is to stop Trump’s agenda, not Trump himself per se.
