The BDS movement clearly thinks its moment has arrived.

WJLA News reports:

Pro-Palestinian protesters rally at Georgetown University, demand divestment from Israel

Dozens of pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched and rallied through the campus of Georgetown University on Wednesday.

The demonstration was among several protests happening on college campuses around the country, including at Cornell University and at Columbia University where the campus raised security levels.

On Wednesday, Georgetown students and members of the community marched, blocked a campus intersection, and gathered to chant outside of Healy Hall which houses the university president’s office.

Pro-Palestinian demonstrators said they returned from summer break with new energy and a familiar message.

“We’re here because the semester is beginning, and our university is still investing in genocide,” said Miriam, a student and member of Jewish Voice for Peace who only gave her first name. “Our university has not met our demands yet.”

After being involved in the encampment at George Washington University, many of the demonstrators at Georgetown said they will continue to protest until the university divests from Israel and protects pro-Palestinian speech on campus.

“What we’re seeing right now is actually repression of pro-Palestinian speech,” said Miriam. “Georgetown University has placed student conduct violations and has charged Students for Justice in Palestine with student conduct violations even before the first day of classes, before the semester even started.”

7News reached out to Georgetown University about charges related to previous protests.

A university spokesperson wrote that they do not comment on specific student conduct matters, and said students have the ability to appeal any sanction.
