RFK Jr Considering Exiting Race, Endorsing Trump

RFK Jr Considering Exiting Race, Endorsing Trump

According to The Washington Post, Kennedy’s candidacy is currently hurting Trump more than Harris, so his exit from the race would be good news for Team Trump.

In a new interview with Impact Theory’s Tom Bilyeu, Nicole Shanahan, independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate, said they are currently deciding whether to remain in the race or to end their bid for the White House and endorse former President Donald Trump.

During the interview that was recorded on Monday and released on Tuesday, Shanahan said, “There’s two options that we’re looking at and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump, or we draw somehow more votes from Trump.”

Shanahan continued, “Or, we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump and, you know, we walk away from that and explain to our base why we’re making this decision.” She emphasized that they don’t want to be spoilers.

She accused the Democratic National Committee of sabotaging their campaign, telling Bilyeu, “We wanted to win. We wanted a fair shot. The DNC made that impossible for us. They have banned us, shadow-banned us, kept us off stages, manipulated polls, used law-fare against us, sued us in every possible state — they’ve even planted insiders into our campaign to disrupt it and to create actual legal issues for us.”

She added, “We’re still learning new ways that they have sabotaged us.”

The National Review contacted the DNC for a comment. In a statement, DNC communications adviser Lis Smith said Shanahan “isn’t even pretending to be a serious VP candidate anymore.” She went on to say: “In one interview alone, she floated RFK Jr. for HHS Secretary in a Trump administration, discussed her interest in running for governor of California in 2026, admitted that the Kennedy-Shanahan campaign has no path to victory, and raised the possibility of joining forces with Trump to defeat Vice President Harris. From the beginning of this race, we’ve said that RFK Jr. is nothing more than a spoiler for Donald Trump, and we’re glad that his running mate is finally admitting it.”

According to Axios, the Kennedy-Shanahan campaign is struggling financially. The campaign raised $5.4 million in June and $5.6 million in July but spent $6.2 million and $7.2 million, respectively.

In the RealClearPolitics average of head-to-head national polls, Vice President Kamala Harris currently leads Trump by 1.5 points. Harris draws 48.2%, compared to Trump’s 46.7%.

The RealClearPolitics average of polls in a five-way race also shows Harris ahead of Trump by 1.5 points. In that scenario, Harris draws 46.4%, Trump, 44.9%; and Kennedy, 4.5%.

Although Harris leads by the same amount in both the head-to-head and five-way scenarios, a look at the individual polls included in the average shows that Kennedy’s presence in the race does affect the results.

According to The Washington Post, Kennedy’s candidacy hurts Trump more than Harris, so his exit from the race would be good news for Team Trump.

We’ll wait to see what Kennedy and Shanahan decide.

    Oh. You’re serious aren’t you?

I’m voting Trump but he doesn’t always know what he is saying. This BS with Taylor Swift is a prime example.

Whoever let him go out and say that secretly works for Hyman Roth and needs to go on a fishing trip with Fredo Corleone.

Yes, having a total wacko endorsing Trump will help Trump. Only in your fetid dreams.

You didn’t actually read the article, did you, dumbass.
If RFK drops out of the race and endorses Trump, those who would vote for him instead of Trump (a greater number than would vote for Harris) would likely then vote for Trump.
This would be helpful to Trump.
You really aren’t very good at this sort of thing are you.
      And quit upvoting yourself. Pathetic.

I haven’t seen any analysis of all of the lawfare keeping him off various ballots. Wouldn’t this be something we would want to talk about?

The fact that a rational adult could go either/or for Trump or RFK Jr is astonishing.

Is RFK Jr not a big enough leftist loon for Kamala/Abortion voters? Except for his positions on the vaxx and Pharma, there is no whacked out progressive place he won’t go.

But if he drops out, I’ll say thanks, dude.

I will never understand people who vote for personality instead of policy.

They are usually political apathetics (a subset of low info voters) because they want to read the person and discern their trust without reading words on a page. Most people suck at reading people on such minimal data.

I make this point all the time. These are the same idiots who will frequently decide close elections. They’re the least partisan (in their mind) and almost always the least informed as well. They believe their lack of fidelity to any particular party validates their intelligence; they’re above politics. “I vote for the ‘best’ person, Democrat or Republican,’ they’ll proudly proclaim. In reality, they often base their vote on laughably superficial, inconsequential criteria…like who looks more trustworthy, or what kind of dog the candidate has.

Hell No. If RFK Jr wants to help Trump and himself, he should accept the debate that Kamala just declined. The entire world will watch.

Another victim of Democratic cheating left in the wake.

RFK is a complex goofball. He makes sense on some issues, he’s a leftist idiot other times. What I like about him is that he’s more intellectually honest than any Democrat on the national level. More intellectually honest than many Republicans.

On the whole, I’ll take him on our side. Either America turns full Kommie this November or we don’t. If it allows us to buy time to figure out what to do post Trump, I welcome him.

Exactly. It really doesn’t matter if Trump and RFK, Jr disagree on certain issues. What does matter is that they both agree on the big stuff. like saving a Nation and the American way of life. We have a nation to save.

RFK wants a cabinet job—give him the NIH, CDC, and the FDA. He would shake things up. Shanahan is a billionaire who acquired her wealth from her Google holdings. She lives in California. Together they could bring 10% of the vote to Trump, which could potentially offset DNC cheating. It could also bring enough Libertarians, old-school Independents, and Democrats who think the DNC dissed on RFK, over to Trump.

I’ve seen some Twitter commenters offer some analysis I think is probably correct: Since Harris has joined the race, what support RFK still enjoys is likely never voting for Harris should he drop out. I don’t know if Trump can pick up all or even most of that vote. But, even if it’s only half with the other half not voting, it’s better than nothing.

Ultimately though, I’m not sure what, if anything, Trump could offer him for the endorsement. There’s no way RFK is getting confirmed to anything and he has to be smart enough to understand that. So, if he’s going to do it, he’s likely going to have to do it on principle alone.

When the Democrat party is an existential threat to other Democrats.

Maybe if he had hailed Mary instead of hanging her his life might have been better. As it were, has been and ever shall be, rFK, jr is nothing more than a 24kt Kennedy plated asshole. Even his own family, short of his mother, hates him. His mother just threw him out of the house about 50 years ago. She’s a real charmer, too.

Backing Trump? Hell hath no fury, Kamala, yada, yada.
Sounds like a good move to me.
But Trump isn’t going to offer you a position, either, dude.
Please, God, tell me he isn’t.

Give him the Surgeon General post, a coloring book and a box a crayons and let him go after big pharma. That will keep him busy for a long time.

Funny, I saw leaks a week ago that RFK was considering exiting the race… and endorsing Kamala, in return for a Cabinet spot.

It’s just leaks from the RFK campaign trying to act like he has any actual influence.

Him dropping out and endorsing Trump is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what Trump would want.

He WANTS RFK to stay in the race. RFK is a leftist loon. Nobody that was planning to vote for RFK will vote for Trump, even if RFK endorses Trump.

But if he drops out, they MAY go back to Harris.

Trump wants RFK to stay in the race and siphon the leftist vote off Harris.

This is just him trying to bargain for a post of relevance, but he’s coming to the realization that the left simply doesn’t care about him, and he’s more valuable to Trump in the race.

You have to look at the states where RFK has actually acquired ballot access. Thus far, the only true battleground states where that has happened are NV, MI, NC and MN (if that’s really a Battleground state). The rest of the states he’s obtained ballot access are largely traditionally red states (now); FL, TX, IN, SC, OK..and another five or six. The only blue state where he’s definitely on the ballot is VT. I’m not sure how much he’s really helping Trump considering where he’s on the ballot…at least at the moment. Maybe that will change. But, he’s quickly running up against some hard deadlines. Just today, he missed the hearing in PA to obtain ballot access and that may cost him.

Remember Ross Perot in the ’92 election? If it wasn’t for him we would have never had the scourge of the Clintons. Let’s hope Kennedy does the right thing and makes leftist heads explode.

His family will be so pleased.

Today’s Republican party is more like the Democratic Party of JFK, than the Democratic party of today. The Democratic party leadership has slowly drifter further to the left and wouldn’t be recognizable to JFK. I might give RFK jr. more credit than he deserves, but it appears he’s smart enough to realize his Democratic party doesn’t exist anymore.
