The California legislature recently approved a measure giving noncitizens up to $150,000 of taxpayer money to buy a house. This is already on top of all the generous perks that the state gives to illegal immigrants.
Given all these incentives, it’s little wonder a group of 20 suspected illegal immigrants felt entitled to board a school bus packed with children located in the San Diego area. They’re getting everything else, why not a free ride?
What is even more disturbing is that this incident followed shortly after a second similar attempt by immigrants.
A group of around 20 suspected illegal migrants attempted to board a school bus picking up elementary students in California on Wednesday, according to local reports, worrying parents. The incident unfolded just 24 hours after a smaller group of suspected migrants tried to get on another school bus in the same district, according to local media citing education officials. The two incidents took place within the Jamul-Dulzura Union School District in San Diego County, which is about 11 miles north of the southern border. The Wednesday incident saw a group of 20 migrants try to get on a bus picking up students along highway 94, FOX 5 reports, citing an emailed notice sent to student families from the district’s superintendent, Liz Bystedt.
The local Fox affiliate received emails from the Jamul-Dulzura Union School District Superintendent providing further details.
The first incident occurred along the Route A route near the intersection of Highway 94 and Cochera Via Tuesday afternoon. According to Bystedt, a group of three men were walking in the middle of the highway trying to stop one of the buses, prompting it to “go around” the group.A Route B school bus then came upon a group of about 20 people Wednesday morning as it was picking students up from the same stop, Bystedt said. Parents present at the site helped the bus driver ensure students were safe and that no one boarded the bus.At this time, it is unclear whether the two groups are connected. No injuries to students, district staff or involved migrants were reported. Additional details about the incidents were not immediately available.According to Bystedt, the district reported the incidents to U.S. Border Patrol, California Highway Patrol and San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.“The San Diego Sheriff’s Office was made aware of this incident today. We are conducting a follow up investigation to determine if a criminal act has occurred. The Sheriff’s Office takes issues regarding student safety very seriously and are working with the school district in order to keep the students and our community safe,” Kimberly King with the Sheriff’s Department responded to FOX 5/KUSI in a statement.
One parent described how upsetting the incident was for her child.
Nicole Cardinale told Fox 5 her eight-year-old son’s school bus was one of the ones affected this week, describing the incident as ‘really scary.”He said these adults – they weren’t kids – had backpacks on and they were trying to get on [his bus]… He said there was a lot of them.
This development is a black eye for “Border Czar” Harris and for entire Biden administration, who rescinded the very reasonable policies and protections put in place by President Donald Trump.
California Governor Gavin Newsom has not signed the $150,000 giveaway measure. While the state legislators continues to pat themselves on the back for their insanity, should Newsom approve the bill, it will be difficult to take anything he says about border security seriously in future election cycles.
I have to think Newsom knows how bad the measure looks to those outside of progressive California areas, especially in light of bands of illegals targeting school buses for transportation with kids inside them. If he values his chances in 2028, and I think he does, he will say no to this the housing giveaway and get serious about border protection.
However, we have to first clear the 2024 election, and this is another example of the Biden-Harris failure to which the current Democratic presidential candidate is tethered.
