Joy Reid: Mark Kelly Would’ve Been Safer VP Pick Since He’s ‘Super White, Like Mayonnaise Sandwich on Wonder Bread White’

MSNBC host Joy Reid whined about presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris picked Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate instead of Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly.

“He, to me, would have been the safest, most conventionally safe pick. White, super White, like mayonnaise sandwich on wonder bread white, from a border state, he could have made a strong argument for her handling of the border,” Reid said in a TikTok video.

Walz “is not the pick” she expected from Harris.

Of course, Reid said Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro would have been the “riskiest” pick for Harris because he supports Israel.

Gee, Reid, is that the ONLY reason? Could it be more because Shapiro is Jewish?

However, Reid repeated one the latest Democratic talking points, saying Harris and Walz have made politics “joyful again:”

“This is the happy pick. It’s a heart pick. It’s a smart pick. It’s a pick that comes from a position of strength,” she said. “This is VP Harris owning it and owning her strength and saying, ‘no, I don’t have to pick who the sort of focus groups would tell me to pick. I’m going to pick who the heart picks.”
