JD Vance’s Dog Joins the Campaign—Meet Atlas!

Fingers crossed, Atlas becomes a regular on the trail.

It’s about time we let the dogs out. Stahp!!

Seeing JD Vance on the campaign trail with his pup, Atlas, was super cute. Fingers crossed, Atlas becomes a regular on the trail.

In a comment to Fox News Digital, Vance’s spokeswoman shared, “Atlas had a great time on the campaign trail today, and unlike Kamala, enjoyed meeting the press on the plane!”

Also, someone should definitely ask JD Vance where the inspiration for Atlas’ name came from.

The Harris/Walz campaign, lacking originality, quickly followed suit by having Tim Walz join TikTok later that day—with his dog in tow.

I believe you can tell a LOT about a person based on how he/she treats animals, and how animals respond to them.

The way Joe Biden*’s dogs continually attack people is a reflection on his nasty, spiteful nature and the way that his dogs (rightly) view him as a weak, pathetic bit*h.

Then of course there is Barack Obama who famously ATE a dog.

Compare and contrast with Vance and his good boy Atlas. This is clearly a happy, confident dog who is loved by his family and loves them in return.

Agreed. We have 9 cats in the house. They range from 2 36 pounders (1 Highland Lynx and 1 Orange Tabby) to 2 a 5-pound, black American Shorthair. I’ve been going through a lot of health issue with my heart lately (last 3-4 weeks) and there is ALWAYS at least one near me (there’s one laying on the hutch to my home-office desk now).

Although, TBH, they are cats. Are they concerned for my well-being or are they waiting for me to die so they can eat my corpse? MWAHAHAHAHA!

Don’t forget LBJ, who used to pick up his beagles by the ears.
And Nixon, who used his dog to try to prove that not every gift was a bribe.

Also don’t forget Mittens Romney who would tie his dog to the roof of the car and drag race up and down Pennsylvania Ave…

Biden’s dogs have been props. Vance’s dog is a member of the family.

I think you hit it on the head. Biden got a dog because he was supposed to have one and then didn’t care enough to train it properly. The first time it bit someone it should have been immediately removed from the WH and sent to a professional trainer. If it bit someone a second time it is a dangerous animal and should be put down.

Bidens dogs were too much dog for that man. He would have been better off with something much smaller and a lot easier to control.

This is the way

Got to love someone who has a German Shepard and knows how to train them

I was raised in Germany, back in a time where a person’s dog was more welcome in a restaurant than a person’s child. I’m curious how Atlas would behave in a restaurant. Would he lay under the table politely, or would he run, jump, and try to hump anything with feet?

We have two cocker spaniels. One we would never take to a restaurant because he is completely food driven 😂 The other is our pub dog and is always happy to sit under the table taking the occasional treat when offered.

What people don’t realise until they get their own dogs is that they all have their own personalities 😂😍

And it’s not of some show-off vanity breed like Obama used to have when he was in the White House.

Can’t get more wondrous than a beautiful well trained German Shepherd

German Shepherds can burrow their way into my heart in about 10 seconds. GAD puppies? About two.

        GSD… EDIT FUNCTION PLEASE!!!!

I had a GSD mix for 14 years. One of the smartest, craziest dogs I’ve ever had. Her partner in crime was a Labrador retriever. They would wrestle for hours. The Lab was far more skilled and had some great take down moves but she made up for it with speed and a refusal to ever give up.

Our neighbors German Shepherd shows up every couple of days. Daisy hangs out until we give her a can of tuna fish then she lets us pat her a few minutes and heads to a different neighbor for more of the same.

Do you think Vance is drawing a contrast with his well trained and friendly dog and Bidens Bite Machine?

        Paula in reply to diver64. | August 17, 2024 at 8:39 am

There’s a great comparison with Vance’s dog and Kamala Harris. His dog is a lot smarter than that smiling fool.

His Portuguese water dog was a gift from Sen Kennedy. They were trying to find a low allergen dog since Malia is allergic to dog dander. When I was a kid, we had a poodle for the same reason. Now, I just stick to short hair dogs, bathe them frequently and take Zyrtec daily. I’ve always had dogs, allergies be damned.

I grew up wth German Shepherds, great breed, smart, fiercely loyal, eager to please but need to burn off energy. Atlas was probably going through cabin fever with JD Vance out on the trail. Seems very well trained to rely on voice commands de-boarding a plane with lots of strangers and odd noises/smells around. Something to be said for a confident and competent ‘two legs’ that the dog learned to trust, respect and allow his ‘two legs’ to lead in such a situation.

You not only train the dog, you train him around the worst distractions you can come up with. It’s not a matter of trust but of showing the dog that you’re as serious about the training as you expect him to be.

If the dog is on a heel, he’s on the wrong side.

Here’s my Doberman Julie on a heel

My last dog was a German Sheppard, Siberian Husky mix. For me she would heal and knew about 30 commands. For my son she was a sled dog that pulled him on roller blades. For the daughter she was the grooming mannequin. She was very protective over my children. She was very territorial. She lived 16 years. All she ever had was Purina dog chows.

I’m more than sure that the loonies on the left like Joy Reid, Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, and Whoopi Goldberg will be sure to point out that a rather infamous nazi leader also had a German shepherd as a pet. Name of Blondie if I remember correctly.

You can diss the candidate, but not his/her dog (unless the dog behaves badly.) His opponents in West Virginia are sure that Jim Justice will be be getting a sizable number of votes for his Babydog.

Would be fun to see Atlas and Babydog together.

Given the Harris-Walz plans for America, I wonder if introducing “Atlas” is sending a message for freedom?

When my GF and I are out walking or hiking and meet people with dogs, the dogs always come right to me, and mostly ignore her. She loves them too, but she says they have all heard of me and my reputation as a lover of animals. She says they all think, “There’s Dave! I’ve heard of him!” (Don’t tell the dogs I’m a cat person.)

No Secret Service members were hurt in filming this spot.

This must have been a hard sell for Vance’s wife. There are approximately zero deaths a year in the United States from rabies and 20,000 in India (primarily from dog bites). If an unvaccinated person does not get treatment within about 2 weeks of exposure he will die a horrifying death that will eat his brain way. The only known current survivor is Joe Biden.

Considering the state of affairs with the Secret Service, I wouldn’t doubt Atlas is Vance and his wife early alert system – so along with handling PR, he’s an extra good boi.

When I was a kid, our dog was a German Shepherd and she was wonderfully patient and tolerant of a couple of rambunctious toddlers who ran around behaving like rambunctious toddlers. I was still a child a few years later when her age and hip dysplasia meant it was time to send her across the rainbow bridge to spare her the constant pain and disability she was suffering. Fortunately, though we lived in a city, we had an old school vet who slipped her body out to us and she was buried in our backyard until the city eminent-domained our home right out from under us.

She was the goodest girl and I will remember her to my dying day.
