Illegal Immigration Crisis a ‘Fiscal Time Bomb’ in Massachusetts That Could Cost the State a Billion a Year

The illegal immigration crisis is now projected to cost the state of Massachusetts a billion dollars per year, in what some are describing as a ‘fiscal time bomb.’

The worst part is that this is all happening voluntarily. Massachusetts does not have to do this. And imagine what could be done for American citizens living in Massachusetts with those resources.

FOX 25 in Boston reported:

‘Could sink the Commonwealth financially’: Emergency shelter system cost tops $1 billion

The cost of running the state’s emergency shelter system through the next fiscal year is expected to cost taxpayers more than $1 billion dollars.

That estimate was revealed before the state’s five-day stay limit for migrants takes effect on Thursday.

Massachusetts House and Senate Republicans are warning that taxpayers may need to shell out more than $1 billion dollars each year for several more years to come.

That’s if the number of people in need of state-funded shelter services does not subside.

“This is one of these things that could sink the Commonwealth financially, and we can’t let that happen,” said Sutton Republican Senator Ryan Fattman. “It’s a billion dollars next year. It’s a billion dollars after that, and there’s no end in sight.”

Senator Fattman is among those suggesting that the state make permanent changes to the shelter system to help control the overwhelming cost.

He said surplus dollars left over from previous fiscal years won’t be available to help fund the migrant crisis come next year.

“We’re going to have to start pulling money from other line items like education, public safety, roads, bridges and social services,” he explained. “That’s when the taxpayers in Massachusetts are truly going to understand the cost of this.”

FOX News has more on this:

The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) released a report on July 24, which predicted The Bay State will struggle to manage the growing number of migrants coming to the state.

“The cost to Massachusetts taxpayers of temporary housing and shelters is enormous, but it pales in comparison to the costs that will accumulate in the future if those in the temporary shelters today remain in the Commonwealth for the long term,” CIS director of policy studies Jessica Vaughan wrote.

In addition to housing, some other costs taxpayers will have to cover include schooling, social services, medical care, and public safety.

These migrants are eligible for certain welfare programs in Massachusetts like food stamps provided by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Medicaid, and other public services. Migrants can access these programs even while the federal government prohibits access to such programs.

There needs to be a reckoning for this.

Let those Massholes start feeling the financial squeeze.

The Smirking Lesbian was all onboard open borders and larping at sanctuary cities as long as Texas and Florida had to pay the price. Let Massachusett voters who put that midwit into office choke on it.

Already the local hotels are giving entire floors to the government subsidies for the illegal population. The local Howard Johnson has complete floors full at Commonwealth expense for illegal aliens well west of Boston. Please don’t for a minute think that the New England liberal stereotype is rampant in Massachusetts. The votes populated in Boston and major metropolitan areas outnumber everywhere else. The hotel chains welcome guaranteed payment and will fill with anyone the government pays for. We are being overwhelmed, and come next census, all of those illegal aliens will be counted for additional congressional seats.

Floors?? Entire Hotels are devoted to this. And response times to 911 calls is now measured in hours as these flop house hotels are generating an inordinate amount of calls for things like the tax-payer provided take out food being late or not hot enough. Rapes and assaults are off the charts compared to general population.
Here’s a list of all the stuff they’re getting free:

And those hotels will never be usable again. Illegals don’t need to provide the $250/night security deposit. I went to show one of these places to a friend on the web, and it seems that a certain internet powerhouse is no longer updating street views in front of certain properties.

“It’s a billion dollars next year. It’s a billion dollars after that, and there’s no end in sight.”

Brought to you by the DEMOCRAT PARTY !

Actually, MA would be lucky for next year’s cost would be a mere billion dollars.

Since each year there will be a massive number of new illegals, the costs have a massive increase in costs.

Also, how many new school rooms will need to be built for the illegals?

In Massachusetts, they’re Communists (Wu, Healey et al).

Mass voters should embrace their sanctuary status and much higher State
taxes too. Can’t you just see the dazzling enlightenment radiating from those taxpayers?

It’s Cloward-Plivens ‘breaking the system’. Yet another Marxist/leftist ploy to dismantle this once great country .

2smartforlibs | August 3, 2024 at 12:31 pm

You voted for it. Where is the compassion you worried so much about? You have none for the tax payers.

Virtue signaling has a cost in the real world. Things seem to be getting real in more places than just Massachusetts.

The vile, fiscally illiterate and profligate Dhimmi-crat apparatchiks excel in pissing away taxpayers’ hard-earned money. Drunken sailors don’t even come close to this level of brazen and flippant profligacy.

guyjones in reply to guyjones. | August 3, 2024 at 12:56 pm

As per usual, it’s not the deep-pocketed elites on Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard who suffer from this kind of wanton profligacy — it’s always the middle-class members of the proletariat, upon whose behalf the Dhimmi-crats loudly claim to be advocating.

henrybowman in reply to guyjones. | August 3, 2024 at 6:01 pm

Clearly, those fat white one percenters on Martha’s Vineyard need to ante up right now and pay “their fair share,” before their fellow Democrats eat them.

Drunken sailors spend their own money until it’s gone. Democrats spend other people’s money until it’s gone.

Ironclaw in reply to guyjones. | August 3, 2024 at 2:19 pm

Drunken Sailors have to stop spending when they run out of money. Politicians have no such problem

amatuerwrangler in reply to guyjones. | August 3, 2024 at 3:50 pm

Remember, drunken sailors are spending their own money.

MA: Your property tax bill is now twice as much.

Citizen: I can’t afford that

MA: Oh well, in rem foreclosure for you. Be out by the end of the year.

Migrant: Any free house openings yet?

MA: End of the year there’s one, sit tight for now.

Free housing for displaced Americans will be available once the illegal invaders are given top tier rooms.

    diver64 in reply to George S. | August 3, 2024 at 3:08 pm

My property taxes went up 30% this year on my hunting camp and my home taxes I don’t know but the property assessment went up 6x so it won’t be good

      guyjones in reply to diver64. | August 3, 2024 at 4:37 pm

This is in Massachusetts? That’s outrageous. If there’s a process to contact the county assessor and try to get an explanation behind the numbers, it may be worth doing that.

      henrybowman in reply to diver64. | August 3, 2024 at 6:08 pm

There are actually professional representatives whose entire job it is too file all the necessary paperwork and beat on all the responsible bureaucrats until they lower your assessment, and they do it for a percentage of the reduction for two years. They are well worth the money.

      MajorWood in reply to diver64. | August 5, 2024 at 11:06 am

Maine finally figured out that overtaxing vacation properties was the perfect form of taxation without representation.

AF_Chief_Master_Sgt | August 3, 2024 at 1:35 pm

And we care why?

The haughty MassHoles deserve what they wanted, sanctuary for illegal military age invaders.

These wonderful people do the”jobs Americans won’t do.” So, are these illegals jobs, black jobs, hispanic jobs, or just plain jobs?

As long as the elites have someone to clean their shitter, their pools, and their hotel rooms, all is well.

If Trump takes office, you can bet that he won’t bail out the sanctuary states.

E Howard Hunt | August 3, 2024 at 1:53 pm

Look at the picture. Those are the people running the state. If I walked into any room for any reason and saw this group assembled, I would turn around and walk out.

This is just a classic example of getting what you voted for. They need to remember though this is what they voted for and they don’t need to share it with anybody else.

Good. They supported this every step of the way.

Bus a million more in and let them keep getting EXACTLY what they claimed to want.

When do they build the shelters across the street from obama residence?

Subotai Bahadur | August 3, 2024 at 4:39 pm

The key point is that any remaining free states and people have to absolutely refuse to contribute anything to bailing out foreign invader sanctuary states and peoples.

Subotai Bahadur

“And imagine what could be done for American citizens living in Massachusetts with those resources.”

Never, ever use this phony argument (unless you are trying to gaslight a Marxist). Instead, note how much more the citizens of Massachusetts could improve their own lives if they got to keep all that money.

as noted about when MA, NY and other blue cities/states didn’t have to
foot the bill they were fine with the invasion .. FL, TX, AZ good for you
pay that bill. Now the Blue city/states get a taste … and they dont like it … so give em more
bus in 5 million more.
put em in the halls of the state house and the governors mansion …

Gee, we Texans feel so sorry for them. According to FAIR, it’s costing Texans over 13 BILLION a year.

Another reason, I have many, for my departure to Florida a couple of years ago. These leftist a-holes can go crap in their hats…without my money.

This is not a Massachusetts problem! FEMA has a grant program called, Shelter and Services Program (SSP) which provides financial support to non-federal entities to provide humanitarian services to non-citizen migrants following their release from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). I suspect that these states are holding their breath to see who wins in November.

Cape Ann can easily support 15,000 Obamigrants, 3,000 for Rockport, 10,000 for Gloucester and 2,000 for Manchester by the Sea or Essex.

They forgot food in their list of costs. Counting all the items listed, $20,000 per illegal per year might be a decent guess. (One uneducated, non-English speaking child surely costs more than Special Ed, routinlely $50+K per year.) At 3M illegals per year, that is $60B cost to the country at all levels of government in year 1, $120B in year 2 ….. and $600B in year 10. Of course, a billion people would come here if they could.

Thw woman to her right “gets it.”
