Gaza Ceasefire and Hostage Negotiations Paused as U.S. Continues to Pressure Israel
Hamas claims Israel’s Gaza counter-terrorism “operations were an obstacle to progress on a ceasefire.”
With the latest round of hostage negotiations paused the Biden-Harris administration has come up with a ‘bridging proposal’ to pressure Israel into declaring a ceasefire in Hamas-infested Gaza.
The Biden administration, backed by the Arab states of Egypt and Qatar, on Friday tabled a ‘bridging proposal’ aimed at finalizing an end to the Israeli military operation that began following the October 7 massacre.
“Earlier today in Doha, the United States with support from Egypt and Qatar, presented to both parties a bridging proposal that is consistent with the principles laid out by President Biden on May 31, 2024 and Security Council Resolution No. 2735,” the joint statement said. “This proposal builds on areas of agreement over the past week, and bridges remaining gaps in the manner that allows for a swift implementation of the deal.”
The short-sighted proposal seems to ignore Israel’s security concerns as Hamas continues to regroup and rearm itself.
📒Quick Analysis: DEAL OR NO DEAL?
I wouldn’t put too much thought into all of the “positive” announcements coming out after the conclusion of talks in Qatar.
The deal hasn’t even touched the Netzarim and Philadelphi corridors issue. IDF control of these two corridors is a…

The proposal, posted on the White House website, came after two days of talks in Qatar that concluded on Friday. The next round of negotiations will resume in Egypt’s capital, Cairo, next week. “Senior officials from our governments will reconvene in Cairo before the end of next week with the aim to conclude the deal under the terms put forward today,” the statement added.
Reuters reported President Biden’s proposal:
Gaza ceasefire talks in Doha were paused on Friday with negotiators set to meet again next week in search of an agreement to end fighting between Israel and Hamas and free remaining hostages, mediators said.
In a joint statement, the United States, Qatar and Egypt said Washington had presented a new proposal that built on points of agreement over the past week, closing gaps between the sides in a way that could allow rapid implementation of a deal.
Mediators would continue to work on the proposal in coming days, they said.
“The path is now set for that outcome, saving lives, bringing relief to the people of Gaza, and de-escalating regional tensions,” they said in the statement. An Israeli official said its delegation in Doha was heading back home later on Friday and that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was expected to meet U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Monday.
The Islamic terror group Hamas wants Israel to end all military operations aimed at eliminating Gaza terrorists and rescuing the hostages. “In a statement late on Thursday, Hamas politburo member Hossam Badran said Israel’s continuing operations were an obstacle to progress on a ceasefire,” the Jerusalem Post reported Friday.
The Gaza-based terrorist group still holds more than a hundred Israeli hostages for over ten months.
IDF expands operation in southern Gaza
As the Biden-Harris administration pushes Israel to declare a ceasefire, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has expanded its operations in southern Gaza.
The announcement comes as Hamas continues to use humanitarian areas in Khan Yunis to attack Israeli ground troops and fire rockets into Israel. “Due to significant acts of terrorism, the exploitation of the Humanitarian Area for terrorist activities, and the firing of rockets and mortars toward the State of Israel in the north of Khan Yunis, remaining in this area has become dangerous. Therefore, at this time the Humanitarian Area will be adjusted,” the IDF announced in a press release Friday.
“The adjustment is being made following accurate intelligence information according to which the Hamas terrorist organization has established terrorist infrastructure in an area defined as a Humanitarian Area,” the statement added. “The advance warning to civilians is being issued in order to mitigate harm to the civilian population and to enable civilians to move away from the combat zone.”
While Hamas systematically uses Gazans as human shields, the Israeli military was undertaking all possible measures to minimize civilian casualties in the enclave. The military was directing Gazans to safe areas using “flyers, SMS messages, recorded voice messages, phone calls and media broadcasts in Arabic,” the IDF informed.

That’s the British use of “tabled”. The American use means to “put on hold” or “to kill”.
LOL. Don’t want a war? Don’t start a war.
ANd why does the Biden administration think that it can convince Americans that Hamas-supporting lunatics in Gaza are, in any way, America’s responsibility or concern? This whole idea is laughably ridiculous, of one can manage to laugh at such dangerous insanity.
BTW, what about that report that Traitor Joe and his junta squealed to Iran the names of Mossad agents, in an attempt to appease, and suck up to, the barbarians??
That’s the British use of “tabled”. The American use means to “put on hold” or “to kill”.
This was a confusion first noted during joint early WWII meetings between the Brits and Americans. And that confusion continues to this day.
We have the same problem, now, with “Asian”. When Brits say “Asian” they mean “Pakistani” (or “Indian”) but when American say “Asian” we mean “Oriental”.
Ah … the beauty of the left’s intentionally ambiguous restructuring of the language.
For the Brits, oriental used to mean anything on the Silk Road, starting with Egypt.
but the msm likes to also use the misleading…lying terms to gain more power
Because the Dems seem to be in love with terrorists these days, especially Islamic ones.
Why do we negotiate with terrorists?
For Democrats … professional courtesy.
We don’t negotiate with terrorists.
The terrorists currently running the country negotiate with terrorists.
Democrats are holding off until the Chicago DNC to announce some sort of flawed hostage release deal.
They think it’ll be the perfect Harris campaign kickoff event.
gaza claims israel itself is the obstacle to peace
there…I correct the statement

How about pressuring Hamas and Iran for a while?
what!!?
and further pissss off the blmplo simmering pot of violence??
I wish Bibi would just nuke the entire area and we could be done with it.
Nothing will ever change and War will be continuous till the end of time with Islam.
Any remaining Muslims in the world could just think again about destroying those who believe in the old and New Testament
Actually, the real solution is to seize oil fields. They are easy to take and hold – no one lives on or near them – and the arab/persian world would be reduced to NOTHING without the oil fields (which they never had anything to do with but only stole from Western corporations in the forced nationalizations of the 1950s and 60s, which we never should have allowed).
All threats from the arab/persian/muslim world start and stop with control of the gulf oil fields.
was just thinking about that today
we should have never given up Our american control over our oil finds
It would be hard and expensive to seize the oil fields, ramp up our oil production while destroying theirs.
I have to respectfully disagree. On the contrary, oil fields are, in fact, some of the easiest and cheapest land to seize and occupy.
This is just the cleanest and most bloodless way out of this mess. Of course, we can take the hard way out, too, but that would be as bloody as hell and would probably not leave much of workable fields for anyone when it is all over – at least not for some time.
We need to learn from our own recent history:
The arabs showed their basic attitude about the oil fields when Saddam Hussein was BEING ALLOWED to withdraw from Kuwait in one of the most humiliating defeats in all of military history – when he intentionally dumped over 40 million barrels of oil into the gulf and lit just about every single oil well in Kuwait on fire. That was a perfect snapshot of the arab/persian attitude towards the gulf oil fields.
If we were smart we would seize those fields and end all of the threats from the arab/persian/muslim world in an instant.
They’re only easy to hold until the locals give up on getting them back and start setting them on fire. Then they are far too spread out to guard thoroughly and terrifyingly flammable.
And I expect that with middle-easterners, that switch from fighting for it to destroying it will be nearly instantaneous. That’s their traditional response to someone else having more – if it’s a camel, poison it, if it’s flammable, burn it, etc.
Better yet, unleash our energy companies and allow them to outcompete the oil nations of the Middle East.
The point is that the arab/persian nations derive all power they have from the oil fields. Even with oil at $30/barrel, that still empowers the gulf states if they control the oil fields. Oil is the lifeblood of the world. The arabs and the persians have proven well enough over the past 60 years that they cannot be trusted with control of those fields. So long as the arab/presian/muslim have the fields and derive the political and economic power that flows from them, there will be existential threats to Western civilization. That’s just how it is.
Has anybody ever seemed as completely overmatched, and out of his depth, as Antony Blinken?
I think that his dad’s mega-$$$$$ got Antony everything that Antony has ever gotten.
But Antony cannot acknowledge that to himself.
So, he flails.
Antony, You cannot lie or connive or bribe your way out of this one. You may well be able to destroy Israel, but you will never be respected. By anybody. Thanks for your ill-informed, feckless efforts. Please, now, please just go away.
P.S. I hope your daughters never get kidnapped and raped for 10 months. On the other hand, maybe it’d be cosmic justice(?)
yes

“Has anybody ever seemed as completely overmatched, and out of his depth, as Antony Blinken?”
John Kerry
In about a hundred days, Antony Blinken will have no job
But for years, the Israelis will have to contend with the awful choices that this little man has made.
Btw, there are AMERICANS being held captive.
And this “Secretary of State” goes around shooting the shit with the very people who are holding Antony’s countrymen. And giving them money. Whilst Americans back home become homeless.
These are the wealthiest humans in history. And Antony gives them our money.
What an awful , stupid person you are, Antony. Shameful.
Offer a demonstration of intent by destroying Iran’s largest hyroelectric dam, Karun 3. The Karun 3 is a 2,000MW hydro power project located in Khuzestan.
Give them an ultimatum to cause release hostages, maybe a few days, and then take out Shahid Abbaspour. The Shahid Abbaspour is a 2,000MW hydro if they fail to comply.
There are many more if they don’t understand the first two lessons.
This is less than all out war, while being painful enough to getthe message across.
Perfect photo of the feckless beta male stooge, Blinken.
The Democrat administration is desperate for a deal.
Any deal at any cost.
They could care less about Israel.
They need a trophy, anything they could point to as a success.
They have absolutely nothing.
The only pressure we should put on Israel is saturation bombing of Hamas Hezbola, and Iran.
