DNC: Protesters Breaching Fence, Cops Donning Helmets and Gas Masks
This has happened within the last 20 minutes.
Mom just texted me that anti-Israel mobs have breached the fence at the DNC. (THANKS, MOM!!!)
It’s a double fence, but they got through one side on Washington Boulevard, which you can see in the photo, two blocks north of the United Center.
The reporter on Fox Chicago said, “It is beginning to be uncontrollable.”
The cops have put on helmets and gas masks.
The reporter is stressing that the cops have NOT agitated the situation. He has only seen the agitators cause problems, including throwing rocks and objects at the police.
This is a fluid situation.

The protesters are calling on top Democrats to stop sending weapons to Israel and to end the war in Gaza.

I’m glad that this is happening in Chicago. It’s a nice contrast to 1968. Not much has changed with the Left. The DNC on the other hand has moved solidly to the left.

I saw a post yesterday that claimed over 1,000 Chicago PD officers, including the precinct commander for the convention area, are out on ‘sick leave’. A separate report told that neighboring LEO agencies requested to support the convention were balking at the refusal of Mayor of Chicago to indemnify their Agencies or their LE Officers while serving temporarily in Chicago. If true things could get even more spicy than predicted.
If I was a Chicago cop, I’d pull out my old positive COVID test and attach a photo of it to my text message saying I’d be out all week.

Depends on what we consider to be ‘lit. IMO the mere presence of a mob busting through outer perimeter seems bad. Especially when considering the slogans being chanted and messages/imagery conveyed on their signs and T shirts. Then consider this was day one and likely a probe to find out how the PD would respond, where they pulled resources from to respond and other TTP. A modest size group can run a larger force ragged with a continual presence that denies their standing down to lower security posture. I suspect the frequency, intensity and duration of the mob actions will escalate.
If you’re holding out for the mob dragging out the d/prog delegates off the floor to ad hoc lamp post hangings before you agree it was ‘lit’ then you’re probably correct.
