Biden on Dropping Out: Many House, Senate Democrats ‘Thought I was Gonna Hurt Them in Their Races’
Nancy Pelosi admitted she has not spoken to Biden since he dropped out of the race.
Welp. President Joe Biden admitted Democrats pushed him out of the race…but says his concern made him drop out:
BIDEN: “Look, the polls we had showed that it was a neck-and-neck race, we would have been down to the wire. But what happened was, a number of my Democratic colleagues in the House and Senate thought that I was gonna hurt them in their races. And I was concerned, if I stayed in the race, that would be the topic. You’d be interviewing about why did Nancy Pelosi say, why did so and — and I thought it would be a real distraction.”
NEW: President Joe Biden confirms he was pushed out of the race by top Democrats who apparently staged a coup on him.

Over on MSNBC, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) admitted she has not spoken to Biden since he dropped out:

PELOSI: No.
PSAKI: Since he dropped, since he decided not to run. Is there a way back with your friendship?

Power, Baby!! That’s all the Democrats actually care about, and they will do anything to get or keep it, including turn on their own.

Joe’s done a lot of plunging himself. In fact, he’s one on the greatest plungers in his party. I don’t think he ever showed any love on his face though.

What I’m most interested in eventually learning is what were the circumstances that led Biden to challenge Trump to a historic pre-convention debate. Clearly, someone powerful like Pelosi (or a group of powerful people including Pelosi & Obama) put that debate in motion because they knew it would be disastrous and would be the impetus for Biden’s departure from the race. It doesn’t seem that a demand of some kind was given to Biden (although that’s possible) given what we know right now and instead, it may have been presented to Biden as an opportunity of sorts, a way to reset his struggling campaign…presuming Biden really thought his campaign was struggling at the time.
I’m also interested in learning how long ago was this coup hatched. Was the plan always to have Biden run to keep Harris from a bruising primary that she may not have won and then just replace him at their convenience? Or, after Biden insisted in running, did they finally realize that they couldn’t get him across the finish line because his brain was mush and were left with no choice but to go with their backup of last resort in Harris?
Whatever the case, it turned out that both men made a mistake. Biden should never have proposed it and Trump never should have agreed to it until Biden was formally nominated.
