Beshear Doubles Down on Rape Comments, Says Vance is ‘Trying to Make Himself the Victim’

Disgusting and vile.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear came under fire for suggesting JD Vance “go through” the trauma of a relative getting pregnant through rape.

Beshear said this morning: “I mean, JD Vance calls pregnancy resulting from rape inconvenient. I mean, inconvenience is traffic. I mean, it is…make him go through this. I mean, it is someone being violated.”

Instead of apologizing or trying to clarify remarks, Beshear doubled down and said Vance was trying to be a victim:

Andrea Mitchell: What you said this mornin on Morning Joe, okay, just to prepare you for this, saying, well, let me take a look, at what he said about you.

[Plays earlier segment.]

So what he’s saying is that you were somehow suggesting, um, he said, “What the hell is this? Why is Andy Beshear wishing that a member of my family would get raped? What a disgusting person.”

So how do you respond to that? Is that what you were talking about?

Beshear: “It’s ridiculous. But it’s also deflection. JD Vance knows that he and Donald Trump are so wrong on this issue, and so he’s trying to make himself the victim. Listen, Hadley Duvall was a victim. The women that were on the stage last night, the couple that had to go through a non-viable pregnancy, are victims. As a man, JD Vance will never have to face any of this personally, but it’s sad that he lacks the empathy to be able to put himself in a different position and to understand why having exceptions, having reproductive freedom is so important in the first place. Obviously, I’d never wish harm on anyone. It just — again, deflection, trying to make himself and Donald Trump the victims.”

I think it was clear what the Gov was saying and Vance went overboard with his answer.

What, pray tell, is a proportional response to someone wishing your wife or small children get raped? Vance hasn’t come close to what the low end of my response would be.

I have to agree that the Governor was using a hypothetical and Vance went beyond what was necessary in his comment. The governor’s comment did not “wish” (your words) that his wife or children get raped. That’s just nonsense and for you to spout that shows your dishonestly. I’m a strong Vance supporter, knew exactly what Vance’s comments meant, and I also know what the governor’s comment meant. Trying to make political hay of either is BS.

“I mean, JD Vance calls pregnancy resulting from rape inconvenient. I mean, inconvenience is traffic. I mean, it is…make him go through this. I mean, it is someone being violated.”

There is no other way to interpret that than Vance having to deal with a decision about an abortion arising from a loved one being raped. The phrase “make him” shows a desire for it to happen. Indeed it’s an imperative command. The governor not only wishes it happens, he is demanding it.

That was not what his comment was intended to convey. Nutcase is all in on abortion, Vance is more nuanced but Beshear is trying to make Vance look like he want’s a total ban on abortion. Vance had a comment and Beshear was saying that Vances views wouldn’t be so cast in stone if rape or something happened in his family not that he wished someone in Vances family was raped.

It is pretty clear if you put down your partisan hysterical lens for a second and read the entire exchange what Beshear was getting at. It was clearly a hypothetical to show there were nuances to the abortion question for a great number of Americans, not a 100% for or against. Vance was over the top in his reply.

if men dont have to face any of the consquences

why are htey forced to pay for a child they dont want

of forced to accept the womens choice of having the abortion when they may want to have that child

ITS HER BODY
SHE MAKES THE CHOICE
DEAL WITH THAT

again rap e is less than 1% of all cases etc etc

Stop it. Stop it. You are doing nothing but driving voters away from Trump with posts like this.

Dolce Far Niente in reply to JR. | August 20, 2024 at 7:35 pm

As if you cared. You only want to silence those who don’t think killing the unborn should be a “choice”.

just keep inviting the boy scouts over to your place and dont worry about the rest of us

      irishgladiator63 in reply to JR. | August 20, 2024 at 8:56 pm

You’re literally on the side of someone who wishes a man’s wife and/or minor daughters are raped. That should be something that drives voters away from kamala. But it doesn’t, because Democrats are evil. You seriously need to check your moral settings.

      steves59 in reply to JR. | August 20, 2024 at 9:04 pm

LOL. Never-Trump concern troll is… concerned.

Driving voters away? What are you smoking? You are probably the only one in the universe being driven away by that comment.

mailman in reply to JR. | August 21, 2024 at 4:30 am

This is pretty stupid even for you JR 🤣

I mean this is incredibly brain dead even for you! You’ve out MIllhoused Millhouse with this comment 🤣

Of course for those as bright as 5w light bulbs no one would ever be pushed away from voting for Harris because of comments made on the national stage in front of tens of people that those comments should be stopped because they are pushing people away from voting Democrat….but when someone tells Democrats to go fuck themselves…suddenly its all YOU ARE MAKING PEOPLE VOTE FOR HARRIS!! 🤣🤣

I mean that is peak Millhouse! 🤣🤣

      diver64 in reply to JR. | August 21, 2024 at 6:21 am

I think you are giving him way too much credit. Do you think anyone in the US is going to come here, read a post by destroycommunism and say to themselves “wow, I was going to vote for Trump but after that bombshell post I’m now Harris/Walz all the way”?

        irishgladiator63 in reply to diver64. | August 21, 2024 at 11:25 am

According to JR in other posts there are thousands of democrat operatives scouring message boards trying to find anonymous comments they can use to paint Trump supporters in a bad light. Mind you this ignores the reality that Democrats just make up whatever they want (see Walz) or could make their own anonymous accounts and make whatever false flag comments they want far cheaper and easier than searching for stuff. But whatever.

“As a man, JD Vance will never have to face any of this personally,”

Neither will you. Guess that’s why it’s so easy to wish this on another.

What a putz.

destroycommunism | August 20, 2024 at 4:59 pm

first he needs to challenged on the not-so- funny scotus kentaji and lefty saying she

cant tell you what a women is

dont let him off the hook on that

HOW CAN THEY BE FOR PROTECTING WOMEN

WHEN THEY WANT MALES TO COME INTO THE SPORTS ARENAS AND PUMMEL FEMALES!!!

This is the kind of guy that really needs a good ass beating.

You have to love the caption: “Beshear responds to latest attack by Vance”.

Um, Vance didn’t attack. The guy wishing someone would get raped was the attacker.

Edward in reply to Crawford. | August 20, 2024 at 5:52 pm

Well it is the art of writing a headline inferring that there was at least one prior attack before this alleged attack. And, of course Beshear attacked, but he’ll go with the childish MSNBC “he started it” lead.

It’s beyond me why Kentucky voters elected this…

It’s getting harder to tell the difference between Hamas and Democrats these days. Add Biden’s comment about anti-Semites have a point. Rape your political opponents women and exterminating Jews.

I don’t see where this is at all unusual. The Communist of the ones that keep coming out in favor of the sickos going after the kids. Of sexualizing children when they’re too young to understand any of it. This is nothing new.

Dimsdale in reply to Ironclaw. | August 21, 2024 at 8:57 am

The Democrat War on Children: abortion, maleducation/propagandizing, permissive drug availability, support for “minor attracted people” (minor abusing pedophiles), sex trafficking and gender “affirmation” mutilations.

Beshear is a sick diabolical narcissist. What kind of man would say something like that in public? Progressivism turns people into ghouls.

Conservative Beaner | August 20, 2024 at 6:49 pm

How would Bashear feel if Vance had said, I hope the governor feels the pain if one of his family members was raped or murdered by an illegal alien.

The question all Democrats should be asked about the reason for abortion. It is never discussed. 95% of career-minded, liberal women who have had abortions do not want to admit that they have slept on average with 6 different men in a year, and if they do get pregnant, and consider it inconvenient, they get an abortion. Rape, incest, and the health of the mother are only 5% of the cases.

Subotai Bahadur in reply to Conservative Beaner. | August 21, 2024 at 4:35 pm

Beshear would scream bloody murder and threaten Vance, because being a Leftist means that they never have to suffer what they inflict on us. TWANLOC.

    Subotai Bahadur

Maybe we should hope publicly one of beshear’s kids gets hooked on opioids. Open borders need closing and the democrats aren’t doing a thing about it.

The problem isnt the comment…the problem is the number of Democrats who agree with the comment.

Jaundiced Observer | August 21, 2024 at 2:49 pm

Love the disingenuous posts about Beshear’s thought experiment.

What *would* JD Vance do in such a situation?

Beshear posed the question inartfully. The underlying premise is one that Vance should address.

Since he can’t, he responded just like he did.

Subotai Bahadur | August 21, 2024 at 4:44 pm

These people are not our countrymen in any meaningful way. Nor are we theirs. I offer the thought that if and when our further connection should become intolerable to both sides, that Beshear and his comrades will insist that any reaction by us be conducted with civility and in accordance with the Hague and Geneva Conventions. At the same time, they will not recognize any such limitations on their own conduct.
