White House: Biden to Hold “Big Boy” Press Conference on Thursday

White House: Biden to Hold “Big Boy” Press Conference on Thursday

Why use that term when describing a press conference by a president with obvious cognitive decline? Have some self-respect. Come on, man.

Defiant Joe Biden insists he is up to the job and campaign.

But the White House referring to his upcoming press conference as a “Big Boy” press conference does not inspire confidence in the guy accompanied everywhere by the nuclear football and nuclear biscuit.

KJP: “This week, President Biden will… hold a press conference, a Big Boy press conference.”

Kirby: “After that the president will hold a press conference. I guess a big boy press conference is what we’re calling it.”

KJP attributed the “big boy” descriptor to Justin Sink at Bloomberg.

That doesn’t mean you have to use it when describing a press conference by a president with obvious cognitive decline.

Have some self-respect. Come on, man.

I wish we could contain the damage this president has done to ONLY the people who voted for him.

I run my household budget on a spreadsheet and use “annual” consumption numbers in my plans to ditch the W2 job. I haven’t looked at for a minute (been distracted with fleeing my hell hole blue city in a hell hole blue state) and the grocery line item for FY25 is almost double the 2020 value. As is the dining out line item. Everything else is up as well.

Dathurtz in reply to Andy. | July 8, 2024 at 4:08 pm

For me an awful lot of things have doubled in the last 5 or so years. It makes me doubt the veracity of our inflation numbers.

TargaGTS in reply to Dathurtz. | July 8, 2024 at 4:43 pm

Look at how LAUGHABLY unreliable their unemployment/job creation numbers have been. Of the 40-months Biden has been president, I would be surprised if there weren’t downward revisions to those numbers in more than six of those 40-months. You’d have to be insane to not suspect the veracity of their inflation numbers.

Lanceman in reply to TargaGTS. | July 9, 2024 at 5:56 am

There have been downward revisions in 39 of 40. But they’re ll phony and misleading numbers anyway.

geronl in reply to Dathurtz. | July 8, 2024 at 4:49 pm

Government stats are always fudged. Especially inflation and unemployment numbers.

Ironclaw in reply to Dathurtz. | July 8, 2024 at 7:19 pm

When they don’t include food and energy costs in the inflation numbers, we know it’s bullshit

Dathurtz in reply to Ironclaw. | July 9, 2024 at 8:55 am

Yeah. Food and fuel and normal goods are pretty much what I buy. Sadly, I’m priced out of the market for luxury yachts. I know the CPI does goofy stuff to pick and choose what gets calculated, but I don’t know the specifics.

It is absolutely bonkers that our inflation isn’t calculated off of food, fuel, vehicle, housing, and clothing prices. Maybe those are too volatile? Maybe there is too wide a spread in their price? I’m not an economist.

artichoke in reply to Andy. | July 8, 2024 at 10:13 pm

Some of that would improve if Trump gets back in, but the costs like dining out are probably inflated to stay. Those workers earn more, and the only way to get rid of that cost is to close the restaurant, which is happening a lot. Fewer restaurants, less competition, higher minimum wage, it won’t be going back.

The question is, would you be happier with a different Democrat? And I would be much LESS happy with Obama or someone who takes all his orders from the Obama wing.

Another question is, who is harder for Trump to beat, Biden or whoever the Dems can freely choose? What if they can put in Michelle Obama or some other far left disaster? I’d rather run against Biden, even knowing he might be replaced by Kamala in a 2nd term at any time.

Peter Moss in reply to Andy. | July 9, 2024 at 4:33 am

That’s problematic as many of his voters are either dead or never existed.

Depending on your age, everything being up could mean there’s a silver lining!

KJP: “This week, President Biden will… hold a press conference, a Big Boy press conference.”

Will Traitor Joe still have his usual pre-planned reporters to call on, printed out on his cue cards with their pictures?? I’m sure. So, it’s more of a soiled-diaper Potemkin press conference.

Traitor Joe couldn’t even show up on video for his laughable interview on Morning Joe. THey had to use 1950s technology and have Traitor Joe “phone in” the interview from far away in Washington D.C. … at the White House, wehre they don’t have cameras and sets for remote operations or anything … No, Traitor Joe had to be on the phone with a static pic up in his place while his staff of dozens undoubtedly hurried to get him the proper large-print notes to read from in trying to answer the questions while seeming “live” and “candid”. What a joke.

After this is all over Kirby needs to be reduced to Walmart greeter, where he belongs. Cringe Jean-Pierre needs to be deported back to Jamaica or Haiti or wherever she came from.

Listening to KJP was an exercise in recognizing dissembling. She fits right in with the Bidens. Could be a daughter.

Will he be wearing his big boy pants also? I really hope he can answer all the questions again.

A big boy press conference is one where the media is waiting for your arrival by helicopter on the White House lawn and you are subjected to live cameras and unscripted questions being asked by many people at the same time while insisting on a follow-up question.

I( do recall at least one President who did many many of those. Flawlessly.

Are the questions and answers for the press conference already available ?

TargaGTS in reply to Neo. | July 8, 2024 at 4:44 pm

The press is terrified Trump is going to beat Biden like a rented mule. I suspect for the first time in his tenure, Biden is going to get a reasonably hostile press corps.

SeymourButz | July 8, 2024 at 4:12 pm

This I think is a result of infighting. Everyone wants the old coot out but he stubbornly refuses to abdicate the throne. All they can do is throw petty barbs and lie in the bed they made.

gonzotx in reply to SeymourButz. | July 8, 2024 at 4:34 pm

The bed they made for us

The 25th amendment offers the mechanism to remove an incapable President who is unwilling to step aside. That the folks with power and authority to utilize this mechanism refuse to do so tells me they ain’t serious about removing Biden from the d/prog ticket as well as clearly communicating what their priorities are: winning an election/holding on to power in DC. All else is a distant second at best…even when we see the emperor has no clothes.

      The_Mew_Cat in reply to CommoChief. | July 8, 2024 at 8:42 pm

The 25th doesn’t work unless the VP has lined up 290 House members and 67 Senators in advance. If she tries without that support, Joe says he is fine, it only takes 1/3 of either House to sustain that, and then she is off the ticket for disloyalty. If you are going to kill the King, you had better not miss.

        Christopher B in reply to The_Mew_Cat. | July 9, 2024 at 7:13 am

Per Section 4 of the Amendment, Harris takes over *immediately* if she and the required number of Cabinet members sign a declaration declaring Biden incapacitated and send it to the House and Senate leaders. Biden then has to issue a response disputing the declaration. Harris and the Cabinet then have four days after Biden’s declaration (during which time Harris is still Acting President) to contact Congress again to trigger the vote.

I agree that you’re correct about the numbers but at the point Harris and the majority of the Cabinet are willing to go on public record that Biden is unfit to serve, I don’t see how his objection can be sustained. And while I get that from a purely tactical point of view the GOP might want him to stay in office, given all of the complaints about his condition it would be extremely (and not just rhetorically) hypocritical of them to then block his removal.

          The_Mew_Cat in reply to Christopher B. | July 9, 2024 at 1:35 pm

Yeah, but it is a huge risk. No VP, and certainly not one like KH lacking a real solid base of Public support, would ever take a risk like that without lining up the required Congressional support in advance.

ugottabekiddinme in reply to CommoChief. | July 8, 2024 at 8:58 pm

But under the 25th, if the president disagrees, it takes two-thirds of both the Senate and House to oust him. Even RINOs would see no advantage in helping him leave, so they’d withhold support. He’s going to have to keel over on live TV to be eliminated as the Dems’ candidate.

“Biden to hold big boy press conference”

I wonder if he is going to wear his big boy pants. It’ll be difficult pulling them off Jill since she has taken’ a liken’ to ’em

Democrats must be forced to run Biden! They wanted him so they absolutely shouldn’t be allowed to ditch him now the Democrat media can’t cover up for them any longer!!

Well he has this Big Boy Pants press conference, no doubt with scripted questions, a Nato conference and should see a few more confused photo ops.
It’s only going to keep getting worse. Month by month.

Rupert Smedley Hepplewhite | July 8, 2024 at 7:16 pm

They’re setting him up to expose his failings further. Looks like Jilly lost the argument.

I am sure it will be between 10am and 3pm
And maybe be juiced up this time.

Subotai Bahadur | July 8, 2024 at 9:11 pm

Actually, I kinda-sorta hope that Biden does not embarrass himself too much in this. If he is the candidate after the Convention [if it actually happens] and then leaves the pooch walking bowlegged, it is much better for our side.

Subotai Bahadur

Biden adjusts his adult-size Pull-Ups diapers, and intones,

“I’m a big boy now!”

What if Obama got a call about a month ago

from his compadres in Gaza Iran and Qatar

and they said , “Yo Big O Your pie-in-the-sky dumbass Mary Sunshine Blinken refuses to let us kidnap more Israeli girls, can you please help us out?? Like-can’t we get rid of this fool , O?”

And Obama dutifully went to work. Behind the scenes. And here we are.

(If you aren’t aware, Blinken has been close by Biden’s side for many years. )

No Biden? No Blinken.

Once Kamala is installed, she gets rid of Biden, and brings in a more balanced US foreign policy team — so that gazans get to kidnap and rape as many Israeli girls as they would want to — and the balance would now be that the Israelis too would get to kidnap and rape as many Israeli girls as they would want. See the balance?

My guess is that Blinken balked at this balanced proposal. Shocker I realize.

But Kamala would happily go along with such a balanced approach. Get it?

William Downey | July 9, 2024 at 10:18 am

Hopefully, this is the first and last presidential press conference associated with the term “big boy.”

The phrase implies that President Biden is so impaired that he needs to be treated as a child. Is it not bad enough that our allies have severe concerns about the president’s abilities? Although our adversaries have little doubt, do the White House minions have to provide further aid and comfort?

Correction: “Once Kamala is installed, she’ll get rid of Blinken” Lickety-split.

In other words, what if all of this recent stuff is much more about getting rid of Blinken . and helping Hamas. and getting rid of Netanyahu. and helping the rapist kidnapper Allie’s of the democrat party

destroycommunism | July 9, 2024 at 11:17 am

using the term “boy” who have upset lefty had trump said it

Sticking to the press conference, it may be rigged. Put JB at the podium but have a teleprompter screen hidden from view. The questions could be tough and uncensored. Jill could sit a room and type what JB sees on the xcreen. He could repeat the question to gain time for her to type an answer. Or they could use an earpiece. If they don’t do something like this it will be another unforced error, for JB likely cannot do this on his own. So, they’ve probably found a way to cheat or after the last debate they would never put JB out there again where he is on his own.

They must be confident whatever drugs they’re going to give him will work.
