How are Americans supposed to exert influence over colleges when they are funded by Qatar and China?
Time to use the U.S. Federal Governments constitution given control over financial dealings with foreign governments to BAN the practice.
No other country in history has ever handed over the shaping of the next generation of leadership to foreign governments and no other country ever will.
Even libertarians should be able to agree that our American leadership should be shaped by American decisions not Chinese Government ones.
If the donors had pulled out without these places being permitted to drink from the Qatari Spigot imagine the change that would have brought.
Instead the U.S. Government has no influence because it is divided, and U.S. Doors have no influence because they are irrelevant.
I don’t even think Democrats would oppose banning foreign governments and their proxies from contributing to Universities, or at least we would get enough Democrats to defect to pass the law.
I really don’t see why we want our actual enemies in Tehran to shape the next generation of leadership.
