Strategery: Top Dems Reportedly Backing Off Removing Biden – Giving Up or Regrouping?

Strategery: Top Dems Reportedly Backing Off Removing Biden – Giving Up or Regrouping?

The assassination attempt on Trump has given Biden room away from Democrats breathing down his neck, and time because the media focus has shifted away from his cognitive problems evidenced in the debate. So no, it’s not over. It’s mid-July.

The emerging conventional wisdom is that the attempted assassination of Donald Trump has made Joe Biden’s electoral problems even worse, so much worse that Democrats have given up replacing him because it’s hopeless.

NBC News reports:

At a time when President Joe Biden has been struggling to shore up support with fellow Democrats following a miserable June debate performance and shaky cleanup effort, some professional Democratic political operatives said Saturday’s shooting will end up sealing the incumbent’s electoral fate.

“We’re so beyond f—ed,” one longtime Democratic insider said, noting that the image of Trump thrusting his fist in the air, with blood dramatically smeared across his face, will be indelible.

“The presidential contest ended last night,” said a veteran Democratic consultant, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to give a candid assessment of his own party’s standing less than four months before the election.

“Now it’s time to focus on keeping the Senate and trying to pick up the House,” he said. “The only positive thing to come out of last night for Democrats is we are no longer talking about Joe Biden’s age today.”

I’ve seen a lot of similar “wisdom” on X.

I don’t believe Democrats are folding the tent on Biden. They are stuck with him, and will use the change in focus as a chance to recalibrate and build Democrat unity. So reports CBS News:

The may have to dial it down, as ABC News reports:

Saturday’s assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump is expected to put President Joe Biden and his campaign even further on their back foot, curtailing their messaging and transforming a race in which Biden was already perceived to be faltering.

Biden will likely not be able to message as aggressively as usual, particularly on Trump’s supposed threat to democracy, while democratic strategists predict that the former president will get a polling boost from the shooting and this week’s Republican National Convention, where he will formally accept the GOP presidential nomination.

The fundamentally altered campaign dynamic comes amid a broader Democratic reckoning over Biden’s place atop the 2024 ticket — a debate that might only be temporarily paused.

Rather than destroying Biden’s campaign, the assassination attempt has given Biden room away from Democrats breathing down his neck, and time because the media focus has shifted away from his cognitive problems evidenced in the debate.

So no, it’s not over. It’s mid-July.

The left media, politicians, actors, and other kooks

“Trump is an existential danger to democracy”

    “Trump must be stopped”

“Trump will be challenged in the coming days like he has never been challenged before”

    “Put Trump in the bullseye”

    “Democracy will end under Trump”

    Would be shooter:

“Someone needs to do something. I guess I should k!!! him”

    Trump:

“You guys can’t even get an assassination right! Fight, Fight, Fight!”

Of course they’re giving up. What Democrat with actual prospects is going to end their career by going against Trump at this point? No one. Biden is the one who will be sacrificed.

It’s now being said that Trumps SS people (all but one) were reassigned to a Jill Biden event and were replaced by DHS people for the event. I’m not conspiratorial but that is quite a coincidence if true.

I also heard that PDJT – since his ear was damaged – has taken up painting and is speaking Dutch. If true.

I read 2 different articles which stated that Trump’s SS detail did have temporary replacements. The articles said they were from other SS offices and were necessary because Trump’s detail is staffed as a former President. By protocol they are limited to a certain number of agents and with his travel many had worked 7 days straight and needed relief. Also reported was that Jill Biden’s last-minute rally pulled away agents from Trump’s event. Not stated but implied was that the First Lady is a higher priority for the agency than Trump. Obviously the first Lady’s protection is important but equally obvious is that Trump is the leading candidate for President and his protection needs to be appropriate to that status.

There have been reports for several weeks now that the administration has refused multiple requests from the Trump campaign for more agents.

I guess that’s at the same level of the “economists” that tell us Trump’s economic policy will make inflation worse.

On par with the “Intelligence Community” that Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian propaganda, that Joe Biden was mentally fit, and Trump colluded with Russians to be beat Hillary.

Political scientist! What fucking bullshit. The equivalent of a soothsayer, a charlatan, a guesser. About as correct as a weather forecaster, and just as useless.

Shall we consult a witch doctor?

Biden’s Oval Office speech was quite unimpressive. He could not acknowledge his own role, the night before in Michigan a prime example. He/his handlers failed the test of leadership once again.

I thought it was remarkably….bad. Is there not a competent wordsmith under the age of 40? Even in Biden’s advanced state of cognitive decline, a conciliatory speech, beginning with an earnest (as Biden can be) mea culpa could have been written and maybe delivered. He could have pardoned Trump, announced a cessation in the J6 prosecutions perhaps with a commutation of those sentences and really tried to turn the page. What would have cost him? Nothing, and it may in fact have stemmed his bleeding in the polls.

But, the vindictive, petty retards who he’s surrounded himself with don’t understand the first thing about introspection and triangulation. They were raised in an era when politics was a zero-sum game. They think they can’t lose and that’s what makes them dangerous as they are ignorant.

With respect, any sign of conciliation (pardoning the J6 prisoners, pardoning Trump, etc.) would have enraged the hard-left base that Mr. Biden must keep with him if he has any chance to win. Their rage would have destroyed the Democratic convention (which today doesn’t look too healthy) and alienated the hard-core ground teams that go get the votes.

No, he’s not doing that. He really can’t do anything.

He cannot back down his rhetoric. If he backs off the hard rhetoric he will lose more of his left Dem base than he will pick up from the middle. They have been told to hate Trump because he is the reincarnation of Hitler and an insurrectionist threat to democracy and world peace. They believe that with all their hearts. They would abandon him if he goes wobbly on that point. Big Brother could say we have always been at war with Eurasia and that 2+2=5 but I don’t think even he could have reformed Emmanuel Goldstein from being the focus of the two minute hate,

I’m quite sure you, and the other commenters, are correct. I just think it’s fascinating (and surprising) that in roughly a generation, the same Democrat party that allowed Clinton to say, ‘The era of Big Government is over,’ after being painted in a corner by a bad political circumstance (a horrible midterm) is WHOLLY incapable of rising to that same level of political contrition.

In some way, I’m thankful for that because as you may remember, that speech ushered in a polling turn-around for Clinton. After getting his ass-kicked, he co-opts GOP issues, waters them down and turns them into political triumphs. Clinton easily gets reelected and eventually left office (even after being Impeached) with a 63% approval rating. Democrats have forgotten how to triangulate, as I said….or, they simply can’t because their rabid base won’t allow it, as you said.

Today’s left doesn’t have the intelligence or the gravitas that Dem operatives had 30 years ago. Most of today’s Dem operatives weren’t even born when Clinton was president. To them, the world began upon their birth, and they have no sense of history or reason.

The White House is staffed with dimwits and infantile liars, especially the Communications and speech writing team.

Since Biden is a puppet, he reads what these dimwits put on the TOTUS, and he parrots those sentiments.

Previous presidents at least read what was written, and attempted to put their own personalities into the speech.

          Biden. Just a puppet.

      It was hardly worth giving.

For Biden, any pause in the pressure to bow out helps run out the clock before the Replacers’ options are no longer feasible — and after last night, that deadline for the Replacers just got moved up by a lot.

The smart play for the Democrats since the debate has always been to write off the White House and just try to hold the Senate and hope for gains in the House; they might have managed it if they hadn’t gotten into a fight with the Bidens over him staying in the race.

Of course, I have never been one to credit the Democrats with a surplus of smarts, even without Biden as their nominal leader.

It is possible after the assassination attempt that they are throwing in the towel, so why replace Biden if they are convinced they are going to lose anyway.

No I don’t believe it either but it is a possibility.

.

We do know that in a widely reported call to hundreds of donors last week, Joe Biden boasted, “I have one job, and that’s to beat Donald Trump. I’m absolutely certain I’m the best person to be able to do that. So, we’re done talking about the debate, it’s time to put Trump in a bullseye.”
–E-mailed newsletter, Rep. Paul Gosar

Get that? Joe has one job.
Don’t worry about running the free world, there are others taking care of that for him.

Well. Technically, those weren’t really first born. So I believe they don’t count. Unless we take into consideration that some of those were actually in the birth canal while Dr Mengele severed the spinal cord.

Those could have walked to the nursery on their own.

“Expect another Democratic Party assassination attempt.”

There’s still a four and a half year window during which “our democracy” could be “saved”. And millions of brainwashed 20 year olds who would like to try “saving” it. Not to mention the “intelligence community” with their “six ways from Sunday”.

Trump, in the past year, has now accumulated some very interesting experiences that I am curious to see how these experiences will affect his next presidency: being targeted in criminal and civil courts, and being shot at.

    Time for a little retribution.

If it were me, Clapper, Strozk, Comey, and some others would be facing prison time. The Vindman liars would be next, but only after releasing the J6 political prisoners.

Followed by a complete overhaul of DOJ, and the closing of the Department of Education, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Energy, and more.

Terminate all federal prosecutors / District Attorneys.

It’s going to be a busy first 100 days. No honey moon with the press. Lock the doors on the entire White House Press Corpses (not a spelling error) for 100 days, and demand replacements.

No press conferences with left media.

IMO Biden is an unqualified neurological basket case, with horrible policies and even worse execution, WHO HAS CAST A PALL OVER THIS COUNTRY. Trump missed getting killed by very little and his bullet might actually have killed the other person. That has to be tough mentally. My recommendation to Trump would be to have the attitude, “I nearly got killed, but who better to rise above that and lead the country forward out of this malaise that we have gotten into.” Be Presidenatial, bright, cheerful and focused on polices, while virtually ignoring Biden – almost as if the latter was an unqualified challenger (which he is). Perhaps Churchillian, as I see the country in quite a mess. I also think his strategy goes with publicly recognizing the mortality risk and picking as VP “the person who would most effectively continue his policies for the benefit of the American people.”

I don’t thiink they can find anyone ho wants to replace him anymore.

Replacing Biden is now pointless.

They are stuck, tried to get him under the wire but got caught with a mentally defective candidate who has all the money and rigged votes. And the rules they made screwed them.

I still think the Deep State will try voye fraud, it’s baked already in

In a way Biden’s address re ‘unity, we’re all in this together as Americans, halt the vitriolic rhetoric’ was directed towards his own party and his own circumstances as much as it was re the near assassination of Trump.

IMO this event altered circumstances enough to keep Biden as the nominee unless a new episode occurs that demonstrates his incapacity beyond any ability for d/prog to spin it and defend Biden. Given d/prog propaganda and willingness to deceive that’s a high bar to clear. I think they gonna cry and moan but ride with Biden not b/c they want to but b/c their options are limited and risk of party fracture are too high. Those influential d/prog donors withholding campaign donations will eventually relent and fund Senate, HoR, Gov and other races even if they continue to refuse to fund Biden. Get ready for well funded races down to dog catcher. Don’t be complacent.

At this point, what are they going to do to the guy? All they can do is starve him of funds and that just means he ends up losing anyway. If he doesn’t want to go, they really have no way to force him. He’s got the delegates and he’ll win in the first round in the voting at the convention.
