President Trump: “We will FEAR NOT” And “Stand United” Against Evil

Melania Trump also issues a statement: “A monster who recognized my husband as an inhuman political machine attempted to ring out Donald’s passion”

President Trump has posted an uplifting message to his supporters, and to all Americans, on his Truth Social account.

The text reads (via The Guardian):

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers yesterday, as it was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening.

We will fear not, but instead remain resilient in our faith and defiant in the face of wickedness. Our love goes out to the other victims and their families.

We pray for the recovery of those who were wounded, and hold in our hearts the memory of the citizen who was so horribly killed.

In this moment, it is more important than ever that we stand united, and show our true character as Americans, remaining strong and determined, and not allowing evil to win.

I truly love our country, and love you all, and look forward to speaking to our great nation this week from Wisconsin. DJT

First Lady Melania Trump also issued a statement.

The text reads (via The Guardian):

America, the fabric of our gentle nation is tattered, but our courage and common sense must ascend and bring us back together as one.

When I watched that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realized my life, and Barron’s life, were on the brink of devastating change. I am grateful to the brave secret service agents and law enforcement officials who risked their own lives to protect my husband.

To the families of the innocent victims who are now suffering from this heinous act, I humbly offer my sincerest sympathy…

A monster who recognized my husband as an inhuman political machine attempted to ring out Donald’s passion – his laughter, ingenuity, love of music, and inspiration. The core facets of my husband’s life – his human side – were buried below the political machine…

We are all humans, and fundamentally, instinctively, we want to help one another. American politics are only one vehicle that can uplift our communities. Love, compassion, kindness and empathy are necessities.

And let us remember that when the time comes to look beyond the left and the right, beyond the red and the blue, we all come from families with the passion to fight for a better life together, while we are here, in this earthly realm.

Melanie is class Jill is crass.

Repeating that said in the previous post, the Gettysburg Address is 271 words. Melania Trump’s statement, slightly longer at 417, is a statement for our times for people to heed. Enough said.

Melania’s letter is sobering and beautifully written. I suspect that her personal experience growing up in a communist country informs her perspective with regard to political violence and tribalism.

Kaiser’s Maxim on full display: “The left will always, eventually, resort to violence, threats of violence, or glorification of violence to advance their agenda. Always.”

By “Evil”, of course, he means democrats.

The Left, now after (they missed) attempted assassination, insists on toning down the rhetoric. Warranted accusations of the Left’s actions and intent must be put aside.

Yesterday didn’t just happen yesterday. The shooter just wasn’t driving by with his rifle and happened upon an open building which had a flat roof overlooking the rally area. He didn’t just find a stairway and climb to the top where an access point was open. He wasn’t unnoticed. Whether at Ford’s Theater or the Book Depository building…. there was some planning involved, and while he may have “acted alone”, was he? The weasels of the Biden administration are investigating this attack on the hen house …. with plenty of bleach and whitewash.

“We will FEAR NOT”

As regards the transforming of the negative command into an attitudinal positive, William Ernest Henley’s overly confident “Invictus” is an obvious illustration, beginning even with the title. “Out of the night,” a negative ground, the poet thanks God for his ‘unconquerable soul.” He has “not winced nor cried aloud.” He is, and will remain, “unafraid.” If the road is narrow, “it matters not.” Nor will he worry that he may be “charged with punishments.” For, he concludes,

“I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.”

One need not be in the literary business long to detect a considerable amount of whistling in the dark here. We don’t know the facts of the case, but we shouldn’t be surprised to learn that, about this time, the poet had been scaring himself intensely…

– Kenneth Burke, Language as Symbolic Action, p.444

I don’t think Trump is beset by fear, just indulging in cliches widely taken as brave.

Trump is unaffected by it all except he’s indulging in showmanship, which is his natural state.

I think to some degree he’s experiencing the sort of exhilaration that comes with the knowledge that you’ve been shot at and missed. Bravery, I think, usually comes before the act, by deliberately putting yourself in harm’s way.

And what do you think Trump has been doing?

He has said that they’re not after him–that they’re after us, he’s just standing in the way.

Well, he’s been standing in the way since 2015. On 7/13 they tried to move him out of the way, permanently.

      They failed.

We have heard from just about everyone except the woman in change of the Secret Service. Is she asleep?

What excuse could possibly be given for this abject failure to perform a duty? An untrained weirdo with a long gun and dark clothes gets on a white roof within 150 yards of DJT? Colossal failure. A witness points out this person and thinks he is spending minutes trying to convince them of the presence of this person that is in plain sight? Colossal failure. That SS sniper sure did return fire fast, though. Very fast. Almost like he was already aiming at the assassin.

Incompetence is the generous perception. It is hard for me to believe that ANYBODY is that incompetent. Any random person from the street could have done a better job of securing the area.

When will we hear from Hillary or, God help us, “Dr.” Jill?

The composition of that photo is so perfect, it can scarcely be believed. President Trump’s raised fist, defiant and triumphant, the SS agents surrounding him, with Old Glory seemingly floating above him, in full view. Courage under fire.

Melania’s letter is sublime. It’s infinitely more sincere, sagacious, heartfelt and substantive than any of the demagogue drivel that was ever penned by Obama’s or Biden’s speechwriters.
