Pima Community College Language Guide Cautions Against Using Terms ‘Peanut Gallery’ and ‘Tipping Point’

“The language guide is intended for staff at the library when writing website content, writing an email, making a presentation, and when communicating with others.”

Laugh in the faces of these people and use whatever words you want.

Campus Reform reports:

Pima Community College language guide says terms like ‘peanut gallery,’ ‘tipping point,’ and ‘whitelist’ have ‘racist roots’

Pima Community College library guide says that phrases used in everyday life have “racist roots.”

The “Anti-racist language guide” at the Pima Community College Library was created in Spring 2024, according to the webpage, which lists a variety of words that are deemed racist.

According to the webpage, the anti-racist language guide is intended “to help us communicate in a way that validates our audience, is respectful, and helps us recognize and replace harmful language.”

The language guide is intended for staff at the library when writing website content, writing an email, making a presentation, and when communicating with others.

One of the phrases in the guide is “whitelist,” which is considered racist because of its “association of the color black with negative and white with positive reflects negative stereotypes.”

Hold down the fort, for example, “stems from settlers in North America building forts and guarding them against Native American intruders,” the anti-racist language guide contends.

The phrase “peanut gallery” is also deemed racist by the language guide, which states it “was an area in the theater with the cheapest seats and reserved mostly for Black people and less affluent immigrants.”

“Tipping point,” according to the language guide, is racist because “the term became synonymous with white flight” in the 20th century.

This kind of stuff is beyond parody.

The victors are not being allowed to speak in the language of victory. F this, we’re not giving it back, it’s ours. Others are entitled to play by the rules we’ve set, which apply to all, and we ought to start enforcing our rules.

lefty controls the narrative until we say and show that they no longer are in control

take back the schools
stop funding them

game over lefty

stop any funding to the msm

Well, that’s sorta happening: since covid–when parents were more or less forced to see what their kids were being force fed–the rate of home schooling is at 17%. 1 in 6! Think about that for a minute. It’s light at the end of the tunnel.

And it’s bright enough that teachers, the NEA, teachers’ unions are clamoring to restrict home schooling. And that, too, is a good sign: if you’re taking flak, you’re over the target.

I use a lot of phrases, so many are quick and on point.
When I pop out with one which rings true, I hear my Mother.
With 7 kids she got her message across & on point with out explanation.
Can’t undo what is inherited.

Tucson proggies gotta prog.

Unfortunately ,the sort of people who are forced to reply on PCCC for their employment credentials may be easily cowed by this.

Yeah, good luck administering a web server while avoiding the term “whitelist.”

    ^^THIS^^

Or, giving instructions on how to get your application past an anti-virus setup.

I would find a way to use all of the terms they proscribe just to drive them nuts.

With comments like that you’re going to get blacklisted as the kind of person who would sit in the peanut gallery laughing at them trying to hold down the fort, and then mocking them when they reach the tipping point.

    Me too.

They really aren’t going to like the contents of the Urban Dictionary.

Just for fun, we should sick them on the Physics Department, which contends that Dark Matter is 10X more prevalent in the Universe, and thus White Matter is the minority and should get more funding.

Just a comment from the peanut gallery: Get a life! Focus on real accomplishments rather than charging at imaginary wrongs.
