NYC Democrat Councilwoman Allegedly Bit NYPD Officer at Brooklyn Protest

Look at that bite!

Councilwoman Susan Zhuang, 38, faces charges after allegedly biting an NYPD officer at an NYPD protest.

A large bite:

Councilwoman Susan Zhuang, 38, is charged with second and third-degree assault, resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration, unlawful assembly, disorderly conduct and second-degree harassment.

She was arraigned in court Wednesday evening, and released on her own recognizance.

Borough Brooklyn South Deputy Chief of Patrol Frank DiGiacomo was checked out at NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn for a large bite in his arm.

A spokesperson for Zhuang said the first-term Democratic councilwoman was arrested after trying to protect an 80-year-old woman who was being pushed against barriers.

Zhuang showed her bruised arms off to the media while her attorney stated that she will not be speaking out.

I hope he went to get shots. Was she arrested? Or does NYC bother to arrest criminals anymore?

Did you not read the post before commenting?! “Councilwoman Susan Zhuang, 38, is charged with second and third-degree assault, resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration, unlawful assembly, disorderly conduct and second-degree harassment.”

That doesn’t mean that she went to jail.

That wasn’t the question. The question was whether she was arrested, and the answer clearly is that she was.

No, she didn’t go to jail; there is no reason why she should. Bail was clearly warranted, and it was granted. “She was arraigned in court Wednesday evening, and released on her own recognizance.” If she is convicted there is little doubt that she’ll do time.

She should be charged with public mastication.

The councilwoman was merely identifying as Mike Tyson. Why would they have a problem with that?

I haven’t seen any of the real details, but it seems as if the councilwoman and the protesters are, generally, on the right side of things. THey don’t want Gracie Mansion shipping homeless dirtbags to their neighborhood. I can certainly understand that. The only question is whether the councilwoman and the neighbors supported shipping homeless dirtbags to other neighborhoods in the city and whether they supported illegally wasting taxpayer money on illegals. If they did either of those things then they deserve to have homeless and trash and radioactive waste shipped to their neighborhood; if not then they are in the right.

Also, the councilwoman might have been cramping and needed the salt from the cop’s arm. It was a medical emergency! And we all know that government officials are allowed to do ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING THEY WANT in a “medical emergency”.

Old enough to know better. These people are truly mental.

Susan Ahuang was born in Baipu, China moving to the US to go to college in 2008. Make of that what you will. I’ll just say they eat all kinds of crazy street meat in China.

It’s a shame that Blue Bloods is in its final season. This story would have made an interesting script for the show.

(I know there’s a campaign to keep the show alive but I don’t know that it’s going anywhere.)

She didn’t appear to have any bruises on her head from repeated applications of a baton….which is probably partly responsible for this occurring in the first place.

Are people finally getting tired of Leftist bullshit and violence? I hope so!!!!

Based on that last name we might have a new pandemic

That sort of behavior seems diabolically motivated.

She misunderstood the PSA …. it was to “take a bite out of crime”…not commit.

Only in a Dhimmi-crat-run state is a brazen assault upon a LEO charged as third-degree assault.

Milhouse in reply to guyjones. | July 18, 2024 at 4:03 pm

    Why is that?

A person is guilty of assault in the third degree when:
    1. With intent to cause physical injury to another person, he causes such injury to such person or to a third person; or
    2. He recklessly causes physical injury to another person; or
    3. With criminal negligence, he causes physical injury to another person by means of a deadly weapon or a dangerous instrument. Assault in the third degree is a class A misdemeanor.

But the fact that he was a policeman made it second degree as well. She’s charged with both.

To be first degree she’d have had to use a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument, or to have seriously and permanently disfigured him, or a few other things that clearly don’t apply.

All well and good to go to the New York Criminal Code, but, why even put third degree assault on the table, as a lesser included offense, and, give the jury the option of convicting her of that, at all, instead of second-degree assault?

BLSinSC in reply to Milhouse. | July 19, 2024 at 9:33 am

Ok so a FIRST DEGREE would have to be due to the INTENT to HARM – right? So when you see that picture of her GAPING MOUTH and DERANGED LOOK in her FACE, does THAT not “sort of” portray INTENT?? AND, look at the WOUND – THAT is some SERIOUS biting!

Now she might not have gone to the event with the INTENTIONS of trying to bite a Police Officers arm off, but that doesn’t make it less severe or incidental!

Milhouse in reply to BLSinSC. | July 20, 2024 at 11:17 am

Ok so a FIRST DEGREE would have to be due to the INTENT to HARM – right?

No. Where did you get that? Did you bother reading the definition of first degree assault that I linked?!

First degree would require using a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument, or seriously and permanently disfiguring him, neither of which are true. (There are a few other things that could make it first degree, but there’s no way she even could have met them.)

I would have knocked her teeth out for that.

Human bites are nasty wounds, sure to get infected.

Before people fly off the bat about leftists and Democrats, be aware that Zhuang is no leftist. She’s a DINO, and the area tends Republican. In 2020 the precinct where the homeless shelter is proposed to go voted 343-262 for Biden, but Trump carried several adjoining and nearby precincts, some by large margins.

The last time I bit anyone, I got quite a spanking! There’s no excuse for an adult to bite a police officer. None.

I hope the dude had his rabies shots

Tetanus, for certain. In the “good old days” there would also be blood drawn from the victim to get a base-line for future HIV screening. And she would be entering her plea through a wired jaw.

Human bites are among the most serious for infection. I’m just stunned I guess that her first reaction wasn’t to punch or slap but to bite someone.
