Hillary Clinton being promoted as the way out of the Biden mess

Hillary Clinton being promoted as the way out of the Biden mess

“The strongest argument against replacing President Joe Biden as the 2024 Democratic nominee is the notion that no suitable successor exists. But there is, and not just a good one but one of the most qualified people ever to run for the office: Hillary Rodham Clinton….”

Things just got interesting.

NBC News is reporting that Clintonworld is backing Biden staying in the race:

Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have privately been supportive of Biden’s decision to stay in the race and have been actively encouraging donors to stay with him, according to two people familiar with the Clintons’ thinking.

Both sources used the word “deferential” to describe the Clintons’ position as it relates to Biden’s commitment to continue his re-election campaign, which the president himself has stated publicly in recent days.

Behind the scenes, the Clintons have been in touch with the White House and have offered to help however they can, the sources said.

My first inclination was to view this as Clintonworld getting even with Obamaworld, which wants Biden to withdraw. The Clintons have never forgiven Obama for taking the 2008 nomination away from Hillary, and for using the “race card” on the Clintons in the 2008 primaries.

So I was inclined to agree with Mark Hemingway that Hillary might be doing this out of spite:

I don’t believe any of the reporting on Biden, but the thought of the Clintons doing this to stick it to Obama world is amusing.

But then I saw other headlines praising Hillary and suggesting she may the Democrats’ answer, like this Opinion piece at The Hill, Ready for Round 2: Why we Need Hillary more than ever:

The strongest argument against replacing President Joe Biden as the 2024 Democratic nominee is the notion that no suitable successor exists. But there is, and not just a good one but one of the most qualified people ever to run for the office: Hillary Rodham Clinton….

The Democrats have a seasoned, savvy and adaptable candidate in Hillary Clinton. Without the burden of incumbency, she can run on a platform of stability, restoration and progress, with the credibility of her lifetime in public service and proven leadership. In her candidacy, we might just find our best chance to retain the White House and transcend the gladiatorial spectacle of politics.

It actually makes sense. Clintonworld keeps Obamaworld at bay, protecting the carcass of the Biden campaign and preventing Kamala from grabbing what most people assume would be the top spot if Joe bows out. Biden knows Kamala is unqualified and unserious, and he is not going to withdraw just for Democrats to lose.

Plus, “Dr.” Jill reportedly hates and has never forgiven Kamala for playing the “race card” on Joe:

Joe might, however, be comfortable handing the reins to Hillary, someone he would consider his equal in stature.

And it would make sense for Hillary to do it this way. She would not be seen as forcing Biden out, unlike devious Obamaworld, she would be his off ramp, a way for him to preserve what little dignity he has left.

Jason Miller, Trump’s Senior Advisor, is predicting that Hillary will make her move:

SHE’S RUNNING!!! These opinion pieces don’t happen organically – Crooked is on the move!!!

Hillary, in her own world view, is the most wronged woman in the history of wronged women. Obama stole the presidency from her. Trump stole the presidency from her. And then there’s Bill.

Hillary considers herself a natural born president.

https://twitter.com/hillaryclinton/status/791263939015376902?lang=en

Of course Hillary is trying to figure out how she can pull this off.

As the founder of this blog, I really would welcome the rematch.

LOL. Name ONE actual qualification. Shrillary is skilled at … nothing. She’s a second-rate lawyer who hasn’t practiced in decades … and, when she did, as with the Watergate hearings … LOL.

Shrillary’s only “qualification” is that she was married to Bill.

Traitor Joe doesn’t care if the democrats win or lose. Not one whit. All Traitor Joe cares about is whether the dems can come up with the $100 golden parachute he’s demanding. That’s it.

Toward the end of the Thousand Year Reich, the German people developed a new slang word, “Gör”, as in Göring. It was a measurement of the energy expended by all German people reaching for the OFF switch off their radios when Gôbbels started giving a speech.

    I foresee the “Hil”.

Absolutely anything is possible. But, Bill Clinton has more baggage than American Airlines, including one very problematic carry-on named Epstein. I just get the feeling the more powerful Dem donors want to turn the page on history and pick someone untethered to both Biden and previous scandals. Plus Clinton is old with her own health problems.

Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder’s fork and blind-worm’s sting,

That is one bugger of a witches’ brew and curse for the country that you are summoning.

Problem is that with the recent SCOTUS decision the U.S. Attorney General can no longer appoint special prosecutors. They must be nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate. And unless the republicans win control of the Senate that will never happen. Guaranteed.

If she were to run and lose again (as I am certain she surely would), then there would be no reason to go after her. She used pretty much all of her political capitol last time. Losing a second time would truly make her a nobody with no power or pull in politics. I honestly don’t know if she will take that chance.

Can Ms. “Sack o’ Taters tossed in the truck” survive that? She can say that “She ain’t no ways tired” but her liver might not agree.

She might choose not to run if that’s a condition.

I have to admit however, sadly she’ll draw way more votes than Joe

Hillary lost in 2016, when Trump was an unknown. Conservatives worried that he was a NY Liberal parroting what he thought they wanted to hear. The idea of Trump as President was hard to imagine. And a lot of people found his bombast and idiosyncratic mannerisms off-putting, to say the least.

In 2024, Conservatives trust Trump. Everyone remembers what their gas and groceries cost when Trump was President. And the rest is all familiar now.

Not to say we can’t lose, but an 8-years-older Hillary doesn’t seem like a huge threat…

I think she would be a great candidate. Run Hillary run!!!!!

That picture of the hildabeast wishing the first woman president happy birthday has got an addition forming a meme.
The addition is the kamel’s primary debate quote of “and that little girl was me”.

Nope. Hillary! is a white woman, and if Biden* is replaced it must be by a black woman. Otherwise the black supremacists will sit out the election – and the Communist fraud machine needs them to survive.

So how does a Harris/Abrams ticket grab you?

My suspicion is that the Clintons are making a big public show of support for Biden, so Hillary can’t be accused of submarining Biden when he drops out. Then the Dems can turn to the Dowager Empress herself.

The problem is that I don’t think the younger voters will accept Hillary. They will look at her as just part of the political gerontocracy, especially if the younger Kamala Harris, a minority, is passed over.

But she’s the woman who will never go away.

You could have all kinds of competing rioters, BLM for Kamela, antifa for a communist candidate and Hamas supporters demanding the elimination of Israel as a Jewish state and death to all Jews. What a show.

I still remember that time where she stroked out or whatever and the SS chucked her in the back of the limo like a side of beef.

Then there was that time that she spazzed at a coffee shop or something, perhaps due to a photographer’s flash. The girl asking her a question was clearly taken aback.

Years of drinking, drugs, and whatever perversion she’s into have taken their toll.

I’m already seeing “opinion makers” on X drumming up buzz for Hillary. Some are spouting nonsense about her “having had legal problems, but she was exonerated by the FBI.” I remind them that she was not “exonerated.” FBI Director Comey merely recommended against her prosecution. If Hillary were to win the election, she could be impeached and removed from office for those same crimes, should Republicans ever have sufficient control of both houses of Congress. At least, with control of the House, she could become the first impeached woman POTUS.

Can an officer be impeached for offenses that are alleged to have been committed before the last election? Given Congress’s long-standing position (of which the Supreme Court has taken official note) that members can only be expelled for offenses that took place since the last election, wouldn’t the same principle apply to impeachment? If the people, aware of the offenses, chose to overlook them and elect the congressman/officer anyway, is it right for Congress to overturn their decision?

DaveGinOly in reply to Milhouse. | July 21, 2024 at 11:35 am

Hillary committed her crimes while she was Secretary of State. One of the purposes of impeachment and removal from office is to prevent the person from holding any future office of public trust. If Hillary committed crimes while SOS that Congress believes should have disqualified her from the presidency, I’d say, “Yes, Congress can impeach a president for crimes committed while in a previously-held office.”

The Constitution doesn’t prohibit it. The Dems have done worse. This is all the Constitution says on the matter:

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

It’s called hardball, Milhouse. Is it right for Congress to eject any person from an elected office via impeachment? The Constitution says, “Yes.” Impeachment can always be criticized as “defying the will of the people.” When impeaching a president, Congress, being an elected representative body, acts in that regard – for and in the name of the people. The POTUS is elected via the electoral college. It’s even possible for a minority of voters to elect a POTUS. Is Congress restrained as you claim under such a condition? In this condition, Congress could arguably be acting to fulfill the will of the people. This certainly counters your condition, and, as mentioned above, nothing in the Constitution prohibits it. Therefore, nothing prohibits it when this condition (“popular” election loss) does not exist.

        1. Impeachment can only bar someone from holding an office under the united states, which means an appointed office. Congress has no power to bar an impeached and convicted person from elected office.

        2. Impeachment for an offense committed since the last election doesn’t defy the people’s will, just as expelling a member for an offense committed since the last election. But since Congress has for well over a century taken the position that it can’t expel a member for an offense that took place before the last election (even though that’s not in the constitution), why doesn’t the same principle apply to impeachment?

If I were Kamala Harris, I’d have my head on a swivel these days.

At this moment the Left is desperate to show an equivalence between its own encouragement of violence against the Right with what they claim is the Right’s similar encouragement of violence against the Left.

Also at this moment, the Left is desperate to remove Biden from either the Dem ticket or, if necessary, from office. But they are loath to do so because Harris, who is unliked and would not be a competitive candidate herself, stands in the way of Biden’s removal.

So the obvious solution to their problem is to “remove” Harris. How convenient it would be for them if they could blame the Right for her removal.

Who reading this doesn’t think the Dem party and the Deep State capable of this?

IMO, there are three main factions in the d/prog; Clinton (uniparty) Obama (globalist) and Bernie/Warren (Occupy and lefty populist). Some overlap among them, enough that they can form a coalition for joint policy but not nearly enough seats at the grown up table where big decisions get made by those holding true power. Then there’s the tribal competition among the various identity politics groups and their grifter leaders who want their own slice of the limited pie. Tough task for the party that claims to believe in DEI/Equity to boot out the ‘unity’ guy in Biden then kick VP Harris to the curb and choose HRC as the nominee. No good way out the culdesac they entered in ’20 to ‘get/stop DJT’.

They’re in a horrible position. BUT, I think they looked at the potential primary field against the contested in current economic and global landscape and decided that a convention fight was going to be far more preferential than a bruising primary fight. Why? Because of the Bernie/Warren coalition you mention. Think about how far to the left every candidate would have had to move to placate the Bernie/Warren wing of the party. Look at the Israel/Gaza conflict. Both Bernie and Warren have called it a genocide. It would be impossible to suppress those kinds of voices and policy positions in an open primary. And even then, there would be no guarantee that they still wouldn’t have ended up with someone more evocative of a devout Socialist than the more mainstream (on paper) candidates that Biden/Clinton/Obama/Clinton have been.

If they had an open primary, every candidate they ended up with would have had to take disqualifying positions in the General Election. So, they went with Plan B.

I’m not sure that they would really want to, at least the more evil, forward-thinking ones. The Cackler gets the nod, whether through a Biden resignation or withdrawal, she loses badly, and then becomes entirely irrelevant in the Democratic Party.

She’s currently an albatross, and letting her take the nomination is easier than coming up with something worth bribing her to disappear. No issues with losing the urban female vote, either.

Several years ago I had a brief conversation with a secret service agent who had the white house gig from bush 1, clinton ad bush 2
His comments were regarding working for the two bush’s and wifes were very professional, guarded and reserved as you would expect from a professional .

His comments on Bush1, bush 2, Barbara and laura were ” they were all pleasant to work with”
Bill clinton ” good to work with as long as you let him be the life of the party”

His comment on obama was that he no longer worked that detail, but what he was hearing from his collegues was that Obama was professional and curteous.

I then asked about Hillary – His tone and demeanor changed dramatically with the response he made about Hillary “- he said “she is not a nice person”

My guess is that there is a bidding war right now, between Hillary and Nancy Pelosi, for the nomination. What the nominal Democrat voters want has long since been tossed aside, especially because those vulnerable electronic vote tallying machines and mail-in voting are still in play, in enough jurisdictions.

Oh, and Crowdstrike has given us proof that the Dominion voting machines are connected to the Internet. Arizona just happened to have early voting disrupted by the Crowdstrike update.

https://arizonadailyindependent.com/2024/07/19/crowdstrike-caused-global-it-outage-disrupts-arizona-elections-operations-prompting-concerns/

This is Pelosi’s and Hillary’s last chance to control the outcome of a US Presidential election.

No, it hasn’t. Arizona isn’t even using voting machines. The machines that were affected are the ones that check a voter in, verify his eligibility, and print his ballot. Such machines are generally connected to a voters database; in places like Maricopa, where you can vote at any location in the county, they have to be connected, to prevent people voting twice. Once you’ve voted, the county database has to be updated immediately, so the next precinct knows about it and doesn’t print you a second ballot.
