Harvard Law Prof: Trump Will Use Attempted Assassination as ‘Reichstag Moment to Crack Down’

“Trump is going to use this as his Reichstag moment to crack down when he’s elected.”

But remember, it is Trump supporters and people on the right who are conspiracy theorists who spread misinformation.

Campus Reform reports:

Harvard Law prof claims Trump will use assassination attempt as a ‘Reichstag moment to crack down’

Alejandra Caraballo, a Clinical Instructor at Harvard Law School’s Cyberlaw Clinic, appeared to compare Former President Donald Trump to German dictator Adolf Hitler following the assassination attempt.

Shortly after the assassination attempt on July 13, Caraballo posted on X: “Trump is going to use this as his Reichstag moment to crack down when he’s elected.”

“Reichstag moment” refers to a 1933 incident in which the German parliament, the Reichstag, caught fire. Hitler and the Nazi Party used the occasion as an excuse to solidify their hold on power and crush political opponents.

Caraballo has found himself the focus of several controversies in the past.

On June 25, 2022, the day that the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Caraballo encouraged followers to harass Supreme Court justices, writing: “The 6 justices who overturned Roe should never know peace again. It is our civic duty to accost them every time they are in public.”

In July 2023, Caraballo wrote: “Rookie numbers, gotta pump those numbers up,” in response to a story stating that almost half of all students at Brown University identify as LGBT.

In November 2023, Caraballo signed on to a letter expressing frustration at Harvard’s efforts to fight anti-Semitism following the Oct. 7 massacre of Jewish civilians.

Caraballo’s previous work included working as a staff attorney at the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund and promoting “the civil rights of LGBTQ people in a variety of civil legal contexts such as healthcare access, immigration, and family law.”

Several other professors have either expressed dismay that Trump was not killed, or mocked him.

its going to take a pro american movement not seen since ww2 to turn america back ,,even remotely, to a well run free market society

good luck!!

It’s not even the most appropriate Hitler analogy.
Hitler wasn’t in the Reichstag, and the fire wasn’t targeting him.
More appropriate would be the 20 July Plot, in which Hitler WAS the target of an assassination, and almost miraculously survived it.
Then again, maybe Caraballo is focusing on a different detail: the 20 July Plot was committed by Hitler’s own officers, while the Reichstag Fire was set by stupid, hapless communists.

Ambiguous choice of words — he DID survive it, of course… the circumstances of his survival were “almost miraculous.”

A cyberlaw prof is now an expert in poly sci and psychology. Harvard has such talented prophets.

Stupid? Mental illness? Liar? Or a combination?

Trump will crack down after he’s elected? Bro, you don’t have to sell him to me. I’m already voting for him.

Well, Harvard Law School jus lost a portion of irs reputation. If they insist on hiring profs who are idiots, they can hardly expect to maintain its prestige.

He’s claiming Trump will do what the DNC and the Left already did on Jan 7. Use the intentionally amplified protest to persecute and smear a President, a party and half of America.

Sounds like another educator trying to find some meaning to his life by making unfounded statements about a political figure he doesn’t even know.

Apparently you don’t have to be smart to teach at Harvard Law–you just have to be a raving leftist lunatic

poison ivy harvard and its staff shows the failure in education. the attempt to normalize abhorrent behavior is what the ivy’s are known for and should not get taxpayer money in grants. let the alumni fund the school of failure in ideology.
