First Elected Democrat Calls on Biden to Withdraw

First Elected Democrat Calls on Biden to Withdraw

“Too much is at stake to risk a Trump victory – too great a risk to assume that what could not be turned in a year, what has not been turned around in the debate, can be turned around now.”

Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) has called on President Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race.

Doggett is the first elected Democrat to make such an announcement.

“My decision to make these strong reservations public is not done lightly nor does it in any way diminish my respect for all that President Biden has achieved,” Doggett explained. “Recognizing that, unlike Trump, President Biden’s first commitment has always been to our country, not himself, I am hopeful that he will make the painful and difficult decision to withdraw.

“I respectfully call on him to do so.”

Biden has come under pressure since his disastrous debate performance against Trump. The world could no longer deny that the videos people have posted are not “cheap fakes.”

“President Biden has continued to run substantially behind Democratic senators in key states and in most polls has trailed Donald Trump,” Doggett stated. “I had hoped that the debate would provide some momentum to change that. It did not. Instead of reassuring voters, the President failed to effectively defend his many accomplishments and expose Trump’s many lies.”

The fear of a Trump win is real.

“Our overriding consideration must be who has the best hope of saving our democracy from an authoritarian takeover by a criminal and his gang,” said Doggett. “Too much is at stake to risk a Trump victory – too great a risk to assume that what could not be turned in a year, what has not been turned around in the debate, can be turned around now.”

(For crying out loud…we are a REPUBLIC. A Constitutional Republic!)

Doggett invoked Lyndon Johnson since he represents the 37th Congressional District of Texas.

For the record, Johnson represented the then-10th District, which encompassed the area now in the 37th District.

“I represent the heart of a congressional district once represented by Lyndon Johnson, continued Doggett. “Under very different circumstances, he made the painful decision to withdraw. President Biden should do the same.”

It doesn’t help that only 27% of registered voters believe Biden has the mental and cognitive health to serve as president.

Doggett added: “While much of his work has been transformational, he pledged to be transitional. He has the opportunity to encourage a new generation of leaders from whom a nominee can be chosen to unite our country through an open, democratic process.”

Biden said that he won’t drop out and remains committed to the September debate against Trump.

Hunter Biden is the strongest voice within the family encouraging his Sugar Daddy to stay in the race.

Lloyd Doggett is 77 himself. There are just so many really old people at the top,

It’s like the T-shirts that say, “Don’t piss me off — the older I get, the less a life sentence impresses me.” The old politicians are the ones that no longer have to worry about their “careers.”

I agree. Trump is even OLDER at 78. Why do we as voters keep voting all these old senile geezers into office? Something has to change soon.

Yes. Because younger people are living their lives.

The dam has broken.

Yep. He’ll make it to the weekend. He probably won’t make it to the following weekend. Harris will be on a 6-week audition. If she doesn’t inspire confidence, they’ll pick someone else.

I met Doggett before his first election , at my FIL’s house. He was a connected Democrat hispanic in Austin, my FIL

Weird Ichabod Crane vibe, very uncomfortable around Hispanics.

Has always been a flaming left wing hypocrite

I read the headline and thought, “I was positive Andrew Jackson was dead!”

THEN I figured out they meant the first one to call on him to withdraw, not the first one had called on him to withdraw. I mean, most of the Dem leadership is old, but not THAT old.

When the call is coming from LBJ’s home seat…… ouch!

Some want Biden to run. Some want a younger generation. Let’s compromise. Hunter Biden for president. His campaign slogan- Trump may have more felonies, but I’ve been sentenced.

The Dems now say that the best replacement options for fjb are either:

che

aldolph

mao

or

any obama

The DNC has a multifaceted problem. Biden was chosen in ’20 to be a ‘competent, experienced, moderate’ hand on the wheel by d/prog (that’s their story) as the only consensus candidate they felt could beat Trump. He also played up the ‘transition’ angle very strongly implied that he would only serve one term, in part to get the very PO Bernie bros to STFU, hold their nose and pull the d/prog lever.

Each faction of the d/prog coalition demanded their own concessions for supporting Biden. The Bernie Bro wing wanted ‘green energy’ and policies hostile to oil/NG. Jim Clyburn demanded Harris as VP as the ‘price’ of his support in SC and the rest of the Nation with ‘black’ voters. Many other tribes got their own seats; an incompetent but Native American Interior Sec, mayor Pete (has he told you how gay he is) as Transportation Sec, the bizarre choice of ‘Rachel’ Levine (tranny) to lead the Public Health Service. Nearly every post is filled by some separate ‘tribal’ faction of the d/prog coalition selected for membership v competence.

The media enthusiastically assisted in helping hide, to the extent possible, Biden’s obvious infirmity all the way back to 2019. As did everyone who was in close contact with Biden to see the reality for themselves. Now the illusion they crafted has been shattered. These MFs are PO b/c they got caught and they realize things ain’t getting any better anytime soon. Trump and GoP candidates in striking distance of 20%+ of black vote and 50%+ of Hispanic vote is a blow they can’t recover from. Once a critical mass of those voters walk away they ain’t coming back automatically and their actions serve as an example for others reluctant to do so. The entire rickety d/prog coalition is based upon various tribal factions getting ‘their’ share of the grift, graft and corrupt practices of big govt. They are panicked b/c they see it coming apart and their own actions every step from ’19 till the debate to lie and continue a con game seems to have run its course. The marks or a majority of them anyway seem to have gotten smart about the con game and just who has fleeced them for decades.

EVER THE POLITICIAN

EVER THE LIAR

ACCORDING TO MANY AND QUITE IRONICALLY

LBJ DID NOTTTT RUN IN 1968 DUE TO HIS HEALTH CONCERNS ESPECIALLY AS EXPRESS BY LADY BIRD

“I represent the heart of a congressional district once represented by Lyndon Johnson, continued Doggett. “Under very different circumstances, he made the painful decision to withdraw. President Biden should do the same.”

( note the lie of …under very different circumstances)

now once again lets take this doggett to task:

similarities fjb/lbj

chicago >>dnc party time

radicals of the dnc looking to make war in front of cameras embarrassing the dnc once again

war(s) raging b/c of lbj/fjb

usa economy sinking b/c of wars

hhh ( dem 1968 nominee) was looking to continue the Viet Nam war)

( that nixon got us out of!!!)

the uprising in the poc communities hitting peak violence both 1968 /2024 and beyond

and it goes on and on

both lbj and fjb attacked their main political rivals outside of the laws of civility

lbj/fjb/ both ardent racists given cover by the msm

grew-up around doggett–even in the ’70s / ’80s he was a creepy sort of fish–couple of relatives worked in his campaign–met him several times at various venues in austin–pure bullshitter–one of his more palatable nicknames was ” dogbiscuit ” –definitely a ” how high? ” sort of ” politician ”

on balance, worthless

Translation: Trump’s gonna cut off the gravy train again yaaaaagh!
