A House Democrat told Politico that a group of Democrat “super friends” has started assembling to convince Biden to step aside.
“The Super Friends are assembling,” said the House Democrat. “There’s a group of people who are going to go make their case to whomever they can get to at the White House that he needs to step aside and we’re going to get our asses kicked if he doesn’t.”
Big boy press conference. Super friends.
Are we in preschool?
The Democrat doesn’t think Biden’s big boy press conference changed anything.
I think it did just enough to keep him in the race.
The person said the dream “super friends” group would include Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, President Pro Tempore Patty Murray, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, speaker emerita Nancy Pelosi, and Rep. Jim Clyburn.
None of those people have called for Biden to step down, as far as we know. Pelosi never gave a straight answer but privately doubts Biden. Rumors indicate that the Biden situation frustrates Schumer.
Jeffries met with Biden this morning to discuss concerns from fellow Democrats. He hasn’t said much, but people said Jeffries didn’t give Biden his endorsement at the meeting.
