Khanna Reminds Cheatle the Secret Service Director Resigned After Reagan Assassination Attempt
“If you have an assassination attempt on a president or a former president or a candidate, you need to resign.”
Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) dropped a bombshell on Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle:
“Director Cheatle, would you agree that this is the most serious security lapse since President Reagan was shot in 1981?” Khanna asked.
“Yes sir, I would,” Cheatle responded.
“Well, do you know what Stuart Knight did–he was in charge, at the time, of the Secret Service–do you know what he did?” Khanna asked.
“He remained on duty,” Cheatle said.
“He resigned. He resigned. And Stuart Knight was not a Democratic appointee or a Republican appointee. I’m not questioning your judgement, I just don’t think this is partisan. If you have an assassination attempt on a president or a former president or a candidate, you need to resign.”
“That’s what Stuart Knight did. He was a Republican appointee, and he took responsibility…You cannot go leading a security agency when there’s an assassination attempt on a presidential candidate,” Khanna finished.
Khanna: "Stewart Knight was in charge of the Secret Service [when Reagan was shot]. Do you know what he did afterwards?"
Cheatle: "He remained on duty."
Khanna: "He resigned." pic.twitter.com/cb0FEq5xvn

Not only is she not resigning, she’s already admitted NOT ONE SINGLE AGENT has been disciplined as a result of this catastrophic security lapse.
This is what Democrats do. They know that as long as they just stonewall, there are ZERO consequences of catastrophic incompetence.
They’re not impressed by your strongly worded letters, angry speeches for the cameras, or stupid video clips of ‘chasing’ them at conventions.
So what are you going to do about it, Republicans?
The only way she, or anyone under her, goes is if Trump wins in November.
But, you already knew that.
If Mayorkas refuses to remove her, impeach him. Make Democrats take a vote defending him and her public incompetency.
Johnson is being pathetically weak on this, only saying that he was ‘prepared’ to call on Biden to fire her.
Start calling the votes. Put the Democrats on record defending this, and twist the knife.
Spam the base with fundraising appeals.
why should she quit ,dems ask when her job was to get trump “neutralized”
and sure she failed at that but made it close enough for
government work
I honestly don’t think I agree with Khanna. An “attempt” shouldn’t cause a resignation. An almost successful attempt caused by incompetence (at best) should cause a resignation.
