Clintons, Sens. Mark Warner, Elizabeth Warren Endorse Kamala Harris

Clintons, Sens. Mark Warner, Elizabeth Warren Endorse Kamala Harris

Warren: “I endorse Kamala Harris for President. She is a proven fighter who has been a national leader in safeguarding consumers and protecting access to abortion.”

The plot thickens as the Clintons and various senators rush to endorse Kamala Harris for the Democrat presidential ticket.

Full text of the above:

Joe Biden’s presidency has been transformational. He accomplished more in the past four years — to bring back jobs, stand up to big corporations, and build an economy that works for all of us — than we have been able to get done in the last forty. He deserves full credit for beating Donald Trump in 2020, and his selfless decision today gives us our best shot at doing it again in 2024. While Donald Trump tried to tear down our democracy to maintain his grip on power, Joe Biden willingly stepped aside in order to protect our democracy. President Biden’s selfless action is a profound gift to the people of the United States — and it’s on all of us not to waste it.

I endorse Kamala Harris for President. She is a proven fighter who has been a national leader in safeguarding consumers and protecting access to abortion. As a former prosecutor, she can press a forceful case against allowing Donald Trump to regain the White House. We have many talented people in our party, but Vice President Harris is the person who was chosen by the voters to succeed Joe Biden if needed. She can unite our party, take on Donald Trump, and win in November.

The endorsements will continue rolling in, and we will keep you updated.

In the meantime (and for the funny):

    Not a bad idea.

I don’t know if anyone with real 2028 ambitions – like Whitmer – wants to be on the Harris 2024 ticket.

I would expect a 2nd tier candidate from a swing state who has nothing to lose by being associated with the cackling hack.

But maybe Whitmer sees it as a chance to raise her profile for 2028 instead of hitching herself to a boat anchor.

artichoke in reply to PrincetonAl. | July 21, 2024 at 8:10 pm

Are you making that “2nd tier” comment, holding in mind Kamala’s hilarious interview right after Tulsi Gabbard had destroyed her presidential run in the 2nd Dem debate of 2020? She declared that she wasn’t worried and that she was a “first-tier candidate”. Within a day or two the polls came out, and Kamala’s polling around 10% or less was no longer first tier.

Whitmer isn’t going to resign her governorship to be 2nd string. She wants the big job.

The Gentle Grizzly | July 21, 2024 at 3:52 pm

No surprises there.

What else are they going to do?

Changing horses in the middle of a race is not a winning strategy unless your horse falls down and can’t get up.

I’m all in for a full soul-sista, kick-ass administration. That’s one I propose that Pam Grier be chosen for Kamala’s running mate. Let’s have the MABA ticket- Make America Baaad Again.

Dems personify Double Speak, and incompetence on a scale that is hard to swallow.

By the way, her body must be pretty disgusting if she can never, ever appear in anything other than a one-size, too small, polyester pant suit. Does she share Hillary’s closet?

Kamala Harris has proved beyond the shadow of a doubt:
You Can Sleep Your Way to the Top!

PrincetonAl | July 21, 2024 at 4:14 pm

This whole thing is awesome. Joe endorses Kamala to spite Obama.

Harris loses.

Joe says “see? I told you so. Only I beat Trump, no one else ever did.”

I hope she wins the nomination.

artichoke in reply to PrincetonAl. | July 21, 2024 at 8:13 pm

Not to spite Obama. Kamala was an Obama team member all along. This much we know and should not forget. Now the speculation: Obama forced Biden out somehow, now he’s probably orchestrating Kamala’s nomination, but he pretends he’s not.

But NOT Obama.

Given how apparently stage managed his withdrawal was, the fact that Obama hasn’t endorsed her yet is pretty telling.

Democrats stuff the hat. It’s what they do.

      artichoke in reply to Gremlin1974. | July 21, 2024 at 8:14 pm

No. Michelle has never been elected to anything in her life. The most important job of a politician is to be elected, and Michelle has never done that.

It was sort of true of Trump too, but then he won all those R primaries and showed his chops.

yes big mike is in it I think ….
Obamas fourth term ,… takes that long to turn a constitutional republic into a 3rd world socialist shithole ….

Kamala has a big advantage because she can always play the “racism” card whenever she gets some criticism. But in reality, she was raised by two Stanford academics in an upper-middle-class household.

Some people like to say that Kamala was born with a silver shoe in her mouth.

    Gremlin1974 in reply to OldProf2. | July 21, 2024 at 4:20 pm

Well we know from her history having things in her mouth tends to be an issue.

    artichoke in reply to OldProf2. | July 21, 2024 at 8:19 pm

She tried that in the 1st Dem debate of 2020 against Biden. Biden reacted well, defending his record and waiting. Then miraculously in the 2nd debate, Tulsi Gabbard, a long-shot candidate, savaged Kamala and really destroyed her. Did Biden’s team make a deal with Gabbard? I imagine so.

Biden’s a killer. This was too easy, not hard for a politician of his caliber. The fact that Kamala ended up as his VP is hilarious, but that apparently Alex Soros’ decision.

And now after being destroyed and never more than a clown, Kamala is looking like the Dem nominee. What a great country this is, where the most incompetent can still dream of running for president!

Gremlin1974 | July 21, 2024 at 4:19 pm

All of this is pretty academic until the delegates have voted. Until then, prepare for Harris, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being someone else.

The good news is everything seems to be aligning for Harris with many key endorsements very early on. The bad news is if there is anyone who can screw this up, it’s Kamala Harris. She may yet snatch victory from the jaws of certain defeat by forcing Democrats to nominate anyone but her.

Trump should run against the Democrats until they choose someone.

They lied about the Dossier.
They lied about the laptop.
They lied about the border.
They lied about Biden.

What else are they lying about?
What else are the prepared to lie about?

destroycommunism | July 21, 2024 at 4:27 pm

biden just sent out a message:

I never said I wouldnt run

the msm is lying so that I wont run

Im never leavinggggg ne —vahhhhhhhh!!!

As for Harris, ironic that Democrats laud someone that never even made it to Iowa in their own process. She was an abject failure among Democrats, with no redemption as Veep, but now she should be president. Democrats don’t care about America, if one looks at their actions.

As Yogi Berra said: “it’s tough to make predictions, especially about the future.” So take this for what it’s worth.

Step 1: Force Biden to resign and Harris ascends to the presidency. She then gets to run as “the president.”

Step 2: Kamala pardons Hunter and Joe Biden, as well as Donald Trump to enable the voters to “settle matters at the ballot box.” Because the pardon power doesn’t extend to state crimes, the NY and GA cases against Trump proceed apace–the Dems get to have their cake and eat it, too.

Step 3: The Dems nominate a reasonably competent governor as vice president and chain Kamala to a teleprompter while she pretends to be a “moderate” for three months.

Step 4: The media proclaims that Kamala is the smartest, most statesmanlike president ever and goes into full coronation mode for the hopelessly incompetent Kamala.

Step 5: The Republicans fight their best fight and hope to offset the massive vote fraud planned by the Dems.

Step 6: As Trump says, we’ll just have to see what happens.

I wud advise go Harris not to let anyone from team Clinton get anywhere near her.

kamala was sooo popular with the dem voters in 2020 that she was the first candidate to be forced out of the gaggle

these were her popular numbers amongst dem voters in 2020

The latest RealClearPolitics average of recent polling showed Harris with just 3.4 percent support nationally, and just 3.3 percent and 2.7 percent backing in the early-voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire, respectively.

msm already in pro lying harris mode

she has MATURED SOOO MUCH IN THE 4 YEARS

really?

all saying the same thing while they cant point to any real success other than

mmediately after her history-making vote, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., took to the Senate floor to congratulate Harris, noting that the Inflation Reduction Act, the American Rescue Plan and other key Biden administration achievements would not have passed Congress without her vote. Off the floor, Schumer presented Harris with a golden gavel to commemorate the occasion.

destroycommunism | July 21, 2024 at 5:08 pm

from her hardened lefty commnazi supporters :

on why she SEEMEDDD so wishy washy ( my words) on policy after policy

Harris, meanwhile, was in a “no person’s land” to the left of the centrists and to the right of the leftists. She first endorsed Sanders’s bill — then turned away from it when the plan’s proposal to eliminate private insurance and replace it with government-sponsored coverage faced pushback from labor unions and other Democratic constituencies. She was sharply criticized for the change on the primary debate stage and in public appearances — and reporters covering her at the time noted that this was an example of Harris’s lack of experience on policy details, compared to the other candidates in the field.

For answers, we can look back to that failed 2020 primary run to see what happened. Three causes stand out.

Harris and her team were uncertain over which ideological path to take, especially as the Democratic Party shifted hard to the political left.
Her campaign operation was chaotic and advisers were often divided, changing the campaign’s direction repeatedly.

She was pilloried for this prosecutorial past: excerpts from her books, old interviews, and spotlights on her support for legal reforms that ended up jailing mothers in California all worked to make her unpalatable to progressives.

So she ran away from this history instead of trying to defend it. As Matt Yglesias pointed out last year, this may have been a mistake. What she actually wrote about in her book on crime and criminal justice was much more nuanced, Yglesias writes:

vox

and on and on it goes as they defend the PUBLIC INEPTITUDE THAT THEY CANT ( yet) COVER UP

artichoke in reply to destroycommunism. | July 21, 2024 at 8:23 pm

What actually happened is that Tulsi Gabbard took a pound of flesh out of her at the 2nd debate in 2020. She instantly dropped to under 10% and kept on sinking after that.

destroycommunism in reply to artichoke. | July 21, 2024 at 8:52 pm

tulsi could also ber a choice for vp

she would actually lend a 10% credibility boost to the ticket

artichoke in reply to destroycommunism. | July 22, 2024 at 5:25 am

Two women? Seems pretty risky, given that one woman hasn’t ever been elected. And I’m lukewarm on Tulsi, but I don’t think she’s a good enough actor to be able to pretend to like Harris. The disgust we saw at that debate seemed to be the real Tulsi.

“She is a proven fighter who has been a national leader in safeguarding consumers and protecting access to abortion.”

Cuz it’s not as if anything important happened to abortion on HER watch,
