The big picture: “In light of this weekend’s events, the president has directed me to work with the Secret Service to provide protection to Robert Kennedy Jr.,” Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said at a White House press briefing Monday.
- “Our entire administration is grateful that former President Trump is okay,” Mayorkas added, thanking Secret Service agents for their work and extending condolences to the family of Corey Comperatore, a rally attendee who was killed in the shooting.
- “We are in a heightened and very dynamic threat environment,” Mayorkas added.
- Trump was given increased security before and after the rally shooting, in anticipation of being officially named the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nominee, he added.
- The Kennedy campaign did not immediately respond to Axios’ request for comment.

Even the fat lady would have been done singing as far as Biden’s chances if he had turned down Trumps advocacy for Kennedy to have Secret Service coverage… and another Kennedy got assassinated. I’m sure Biden will assign another brownie troop to Kennedy just like he did Trump tho.
It is clear as day that Biden and Myorkas intended to win election by having his crazed supporters kill Biden’s opponents.
After yesterday, he’s probably better off sticking with whatever private security firm he’s been using.
While I do not care for RFK, Jr’s politics [although in my youth I worked for his father in the Nebraska Primary], I would advise him to keep his head on a swivel once the Secret Service arrives.

While I’m no fan of Kennedy’s leftist loon politics, it always felt like the Biden regime kind of hoped there would be some random loon out there willing to add one more Kennedy head to the trophy wall
Although it appears the USSS is no longer much of a protective service, I’m glad Trump publicly upbraided them into providing a detail to Kennedy
Since he is currently employing a Gavin deBecker team the Secret Service would seem to be a step down.
