Tajikistan Nationals With Ties to ISIS Arrested in Multiple Cities

Authorities arrested eight Tajikistan nationals in Los Angeles, New York City, and Philadelphia this week:

Sources told Fox News that immigration officials “fully vetted” the nationals and didn’t flag anything. From NBC News:

The suspects had been on the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force radar and were arrested by personnel with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, better known as ICE, the sources say.All eight men crossed through the southern border into the U.S., and their criminal backgrounds checks came back clean when they crossed, say two officials familiar with the matter. At least two of the men crossed the border in spring 2023, and one of those men used the CBP One app, which the Biden administration created to allow migrants to book appointments to claim asylum, those officials say.

Other sources told The New York Post that a wiretap revealed one of the arrested nationals spoke about bombs.

DHS and FBI sent out a joint statement: “Over the last few days, ICE agents arrested several non-citizens pursuant to immigration authorities. The actions were carried out in close coordination with the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Forces. The individuals arrested are detained in ICE custody pending removal proceedings. As the FBI and DHS have recently described in public and partner bulletins, the U.S. has been in a heightened threat environment. The FBI and DHS will continue working around the clock with our partners to identify, investigate, and disrupt potential threats to national security.”

We learned this week that the administration told the San Diego border patrol to continue catch and release most illegal aliens.

Officials exempted six countries: Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

Officials must label those from the six countries as “hard” or “very hard” to remove.
