NY Times Editorial Board Calls On Joe Biden To Abandon Reelection Campaign

“It’s too big a bet to simply hope Americans will overlook or discount Mr. Biden’s age and infirmity that they see with their own eyes.”

The NY Times Editorial Board has joined the chorus calling on Joe Biden to abandon his reelection campaign after the debate debacle at which Biden’s cognitive fitness to be president was called into question.

When a Democrat candidate has lost the NY Times, it’s a sign of a seriously sinking ship. After dumping on Trump, the NY Times Editors wrote:

At Thursday’s debate, the president needed to convince the American public that he was equal to the formidable demands of the office he is seeking to hold for another term. Voters, however, cannot be expected to ignore what was instead plain to see: Mr. Biden is not the man he was four years ago.

The president appeared on Thursday night as the shadow of a great public servant. He struggled to explain what he would accomplish in a second term. He struggled to respond to Mr. Trump’s provocations. He struggled to hold Mr. Trump accountable for his lies, his failures and his chilling plans. More than once, he struggled to make it to the end of a sentence.

Mr. Biden has been an admirable president. Under his leadership, the nation has prospered and begun to address a range of long-term challenges, and the wounds ripped open by Mr. Trump have begun to heal. But the greatest public service Mr. Biden can now perform is to announce that he will not continue to run for re-election.

As it stands, the president is engaged in a reckless gamble. There are Democratic leaders better equipped to present clear, compelling and energetic alternatives to a second Trump presidency. There is no reason for the party to risk the stability and security of the country by forcing voters to choose between Mr. Trump’s deficiencies and those of Mr. Biden. It’s too big a bet to simply hope Americans will overlook or discount Mr. Biden’s age and infirmity that they see with their own eyes….

It should be remembered that Mr. Biden challenged Mr. Trump to this verbal duel. He set the rules, and he insisted on a date months earlier than any previous general election debate. He understood that he needed to address longstanding public concerns about his mental acuity and that he needed to do so as soon as possible.

The truth Mr. Biden needs to confront now is that he failed his own test….

Democrats who have deferred to Mr. Biden must now find the courage to speak plain truths to the party’s leader. The confidantes and aides who have encouraged the president’s candidacy, and who sheltered him from unscripted appearances in public, should recognize the damage to Mr. Biden’s standing and the unlikelihood that he can repair it….

The clearest path for Democrats to defeat a candidate defined by his lies is to deal truthfully with the American public: acknowledge that Mr. Biden can’t continue his race, and create a process to select someone more capable to stand in his place to defeat Mr. Trump in November.

It is the best chance to protect the soul of the nation — the cause that drew Mr. Biden to run for the presidency in 2019 — from the malign warping of Mr. Trump. And it is the best service that Mr. Biden can provide to a country that he has nobly served for so long.

Never forget that the Times was among those covering for Biden.

Joe is trying to put on a strong face, saying he’s not withdrawing. It’s going to take some serious ego-saving maneuver by Democrat heavies to get Joe and “Dr.” Jill to see that time is up.

So, who does the Times want?

If Biden does not drop out and is not replaced, watch the NY Slimes Editorial Board endorse him for president in a Trump-Biden ballot choice.

Only the NYT is entitled to deal in serial falsehoods. When found to be lying, the NYT is entitled to accuse their opponents of falsehoods. The NYT speaks for our betters, and we had better or else!

IMHO Gruesome of CA.

The obvious switch-hitters suffer from the Kasich Effect — the better people know them, the less they like them.

Not that simple. The thing I keep saying is “remember the last brokered convention in Chicago”

Wouldn’t it be funny if somebody took one out of the Dim playbook and had about 50 pallets of bricks delivered to street corners all around the convention site in Chicago? It was fair play during the 2020 BLM riots. Why not now?

A kick in the gut to Biden. They try to sweeten the blow by wrapping it in an editorial in which every sentence amounts to a rabid defamation of Trump.

There are some interesting state laws regarding this possibility.

My understanding is that the Biden campaign funds cannot be transferred to anyone but Camala.

Dear NYT, this didn’t happen overnight. It’s just that you couldn’t hide it in snappy newsprint and true dysinformation. You are just a rat trying to jump to a different ship to continue on.

It’s the price the Dems will have to pay to Dr. Jill. She won’t go for the “good of the party”. The Bidens don’t do that. Joe and Jill are holding out for the big payday. No chump change for them. Considering how much they have socked away already…. a measly 10 mil ain’t going to cut it.

Man I need some more popcorn. The whipsawing of the Dems is just a gut buster of laughter. How can anyone take the media serious? One week he sharp as a tack and now they’re calling for his ouster. Don’t believe your own eyes, oh my now he’s incapable (and incontinent, incompetent, incoherent, nearly incapacitated, and as of last night irrelevant)

What’s funny about this is that these idiots are pretending that Biden’s dotage and physical/mental decline just began during the last debate.

This corrupt, ornery, mendacious, avaricious, dim-witted and inept reprobate was manifestly intellectually, emotionally, physically, cognitively, temperamentally and ideologically unqualified and ill-suited to be President, back in 2019. And, that fact was obvious not just to conservatives, but, to anyone else who wasn’t drinking the vile Dhimmi-crats’ Kool-Aid.

How convenient. Sorry NYT and the rest of the legacy media enablers who covered for Biden’s obvious decline as far back as the 2020 campaign. If he isn’t capable of waging a competitive campaign for President in ’24 why in the hell are you not also demanding his resignation from the Presidency today? Either he is capable of performing or he isn’t. To say he can remain as POTUS till Jan but isn’t capable of waging an effective campaign is a ludicrously transparent attempt to minimize the damage created by your deceit and everyone with any sense sees it for exactly what it is.

These are the same set of lying liars who clobbered all over every Fauci Covid pronouncement as if it were holy writ. Y’all are deathly afraid your lies and your prominent role in perpetuating these destructive falsehoods have at long last caught up with you. You demanded Biden over Trump and Fauci over freedom. The bill is coming due so don’t try and dash out the door without being accountable. Sit back down and take what is coming b/c it is richly deserved.

if you want some comedy
go to DU and get a laugh

1. since Biden is a forgetful nice old man per the investigator who is running the country. cuz it isn’t him.
2. I want art 25 invoked
Harris becomes POTUS and the incumbent and the leader of the party. She isn’t going to go peacefully or quietly … she is going to run for the presidency … and will be public and loud about it.
I need more popcorn…

There are two possibilities. One, there is a grand plan. The early debate, Biden’s predictable impression of the Hindenburg and the pearl-clutching and immediate reaction of most of the media and notable professional Democrats. Clinton & Obama publicly playing good cop to the other’s bad cop is also part of the plan, perhaps designed to keep Biden oblivious to what they’re doing to him in private. Whatever comes next, has been scripted long ago.

The other possibility is the national Democrat Party is just as dysfunctional as the Republican party. There is no plan. Most of the people working in their national political apparatus are rent-seeking retards and/or tripping balls most of the time. They have no idea what’s happening much less what’s going to happen as they’re literally making it up every minute of every day.

At this point, I really don’t know which possibility is correct.

Between the two choice I go with the second. The Biden Campaign put out the challenge for the debate and the stipulations for the debate. Those are the insider folks most directly impacted by this implosion. I used a profit to them setting up Joe to fail. Instead I believe they thought (hoped?) that whatever cocktail they hopped Joe up on and the week long + of prep would see Joe give a decent enough performance that they could hide him away the rest of the campaign, just like 2020. It backfired but really they had little option to try and arrest falling poll # and the growing public awareness of just how much Biden has declined.

NYT: “To serve his country…”
Bwa ha ha, You mean, “To salvage his party.”

Who put NYT in charge? Since when are they king maker? That rag continues its decline into irrelevance.

They’re still the Democrat Bible. But only theirs.

The Times’s attitude merely reflects the arrogance of the leftist/Dhimmi-crat media organs, at-large. WaPo, the Atlantic, the Nation, Mother Jones, NPR/PBS, CNN, MSNBC, Bloomberg, etc.

They enjoy their roles as the Party’s official and dutiful scribes/shills/lackeys, so, they aren’t afraid to believe that they have a role in anointing the heir-apparent.

“defined by his lies” – Who exactly said that not one soldier got killed on his watch? He got 16 killed, including 13 for his 9/11 “getting out of Afghanistan” photo-op. There is also another one in critical condition for a month related to Biden’s dumb Gaza pier.

Pedo Potato Head and the incomprehensible cackling hooker will be on the ticket.
1) Unless he dies or removes himself there are no other options in the DEM system.
2) The money stays with him and the DEI selection. Everyone else would be starting from $0.
The corporate media has lied their way into a corner.
Look for desperate Joe to do something to Trump, possibly jail for New York case.

Do not be fooled by the same old MSM that has lied to us for decades. This entire “Debate” and now the calling for Joe to not run again is nothing but a DNC plot to get rid of him. Did anyone ever think that Tapper and Bash, Trump haters both, would be fair during the debate? Of course not, but they had been told by the powers behind the puppet to allow Joe to hang himself and then go after him the next day. Now the plot is working and every MSM and TV outlet is calling for his removal. This smells a lot like the Clintons.

“Lies, provocations and chilling plans.” My God, these propgandist shills, lapdogs and trained seals need to stop with their moronic Bond villain characterizations of President Trump and contrive some new material.

NYT headline: “Titanic arrives in NY”.
