Not Satire: Study Links Climate Change to a Politician’s Decline in ‘Speech Complexity and Productivity’

Totally not a coincidence five months before the election.

I do not believe in coincidences.

There is no way it is a coincidence a study connecting climate change to the reduction of the “speech complexity and productivity of politicians” came out as the media has been fighting back against videos showing Biden’s cognitive decline.

It’s not a Babylon Bee article.

From Cell.com: The effect of temperature on language complexity: Evidence from seven million parliamentary speeches

It’s a Europe based study, but still:

Climate change carries important effects on human wellbeing and performance, and increasingly research is documenting the negative impacts of out-of-comfort temperatures on workplace performance. In this study, we investigate the plausibly causal effect of extreme temperatures, i.e., out-of-comfort, on language complexity among politicians, leveraging a fixed effects strategy. We analyze language complexity in over seven million parliamentary speeches across eight countries, connecting them with precise daily meteorological information. We find hot days reduce politicians’ language complexity, but not cold days. Focusing on one country, we explore marginal effects by age and gender, suggesting high temperatures significantly impact older politicians at lower thresholds. The findings propose that political rhetoric is not only driven by political circumstances and strategic concerns but also by physiological responses to external environmental factors. Overall, the study holds important implications on how climate change could affect human cognitive performance and the quality of political discourse.

I have no words. What absolute garbage.

The group analyzed decades of speeches. I cannot find it anywhere that language has evolved, the introduction of available media, social media, etc.

Did they take the politician’s medical conditions into account? I used to be more comfortable in the cold. Due to rheumatoid arthritis, I’m more comfortable in the heat now—the hotter, the better.

I don’t even think they took AGE into account.

We’ve had three videos alone in a few weeks of Biden not totally being there. I lost count of how many we had before June!

But they’re cheap fakes, right?

Can we be sure that it was Biden’s brain that malfunctioned here and not his bowels? What if he crapped his Depends and was wondering “what do I do now”?

During next Thursday’s debate, he will be given an enema and fitted with a butt plug.

How absurd. Temperatures vary from one hour of the day to the next, every day of our lives. To suggest that somehow our body and brain is negatively impacted by some mythical change in the ‘average global temperature’ is just retarded. Totally retarded. SMH.

I can’t help but wonder what historians (real ones, not the mindless leftist praise-fest Dems get from Beschloss and the like) will show Joe as in ten or twenty years. Obama was considered the ’empty chair’ Presidency, but Joe is more of a vacuum.

I saw that on twitter. I swear I thought it was from a parody site. I cannot believe this is real. Unbelievable. Academia is a scourge.

The man is so sharp and on top of every issue that he needs a week to prepare for a 90 minute appearance where he will have share time with three others.

As for the “climate scientists,” read Booker T. Washington’s famous 1911 quote and you get the message.

We find hot days reduce politicians’ language complexity, but not cold days.

Ok, so how would one explain Biden’s flubs and gibberish in the winter and when indoors in air-conditioned spaces?

The study claims the temperature results held, regardless of the temperature actually experienced by the speaker — regardless of air conditioning.

Cell used to be a journal.

So let me get this right–speeches delivered on cold days were Churchillian while hot days produced biden drivel. But when were the speeches written? What if a cold day oratorical masterpiece was written on a hot day?

Climate change: is there anything it can’t do?

“Crooked Joe Biden—who is hardly ambulatory at this point—had a really hard time getting into the SUV”
If there had been audio coverage accompanying this video, you would have heard Biden exclaim, “My God! It’s full of stars!”

It’s depressing that this is being taken seriously enough that it even warrants a discussion. The fact is that everyone knows a mild, moist winter followed by an early warm spell in the summer encourages unusually rapid growth in vegetables.

“……. a study connecting climate change to the reduction of the “speech complexity and productivity of politicians” came out as……”

Oh.
It doesn’t affect normal people, only politicians?
Got it.

Are they seriously trying to blame the fact that Joe Biden is a dementia riddled, brain damaged retard on climate change now?

Or maybe some political figures dumb down their speech and fluff it full of meaningless buzzwords to appeal to today’s over credentialed but poorly educated audience?
