Behind the Headlines Episode 1: SCOTUS Rulings and Debate Disasters

Were our predictions correct?

And the first installment has arrived. Please enjoy. If you didn’t catch our short conversation earlier, we have started a podcast (and video cast) called Behind the Headlines. This is our first full episode.

We discuss SCOTUS decisions and the first presidential debate. You can watch our first short discussion here, where we cast our debate predictions.

Related to our discussion are Professor Jacobson’s thoughts on invoking the 25th amendment, which were later covered by Fox News:

A Cornell University law professor has called on President Biden’s Cabinet to invoke the Constitution’s 25th Amendment to have him removed from office after his weak debate performance Thursday night, claiming his “cognitive decline” is a “national security threat.”

“This debate displayed Biden’s severely declined cognitive ability for all the world to see for an hour and a half,” Professor William Jacobson wrote Friday for Legalinsurrection.com.

“The media cannot claim the live video feed from CNN was a manipulated ‘cheap fake’ — the smear campaign used against those of us who have been pointing out the obvious for over a year, but particularly recently with Biden visibly freezing and zoning out in public appearances.”

He called for the 25th Amendment to be invoked to have Biden removed from office.

“If I’m China, I’m taking off the shelf the war plans to invade Taiwan,”Jacobson said. “If I’m Iran, I’m breaking out towards a nuclear weapon. If I’m Putin, I’m doubling down on Ukraine and possibly other former Soviet satellites. Can you imagine an emergency situation where immediate military decisions that only a president can make need to be made in seconds or minutes, and the military having to go to diminished Joe for a decision?”

He added Biden’s “cognitive decline is a national security threat of the highest order.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson said something similar Friday.

What difference does a day make?

June 26, 2024——Top Secret Document: “The President of the United States has cognitive decline. This is a national security threat of the highest order.”

June 27, 2024——Declassified Document (Formerly Top Secret): “The President of the United States has cognitive decline. This is a national security threat of the highest order.”

Even if Dementia Joe is replaced, if real military decisions are needed, the first thing President Harris would order is for the Pentagon to make plans for 57 separate latrines for every gender identity before sending in the troops.

But she will need to convene a committee first, and take all possible suggestions under advisement.

Once her gaggle of advisors have determined a course of action, she will then need to convene the Squad to tell her if that is the right decision.

Once that is achieved, she will make the following announcement:

“I have determined, taking into account the world we now have, and looking to the world we may have, or the world we may have if we decide to pursue a different course, with our vision of the future unhindered by the hindrances hindering our decision for the future we imagine.

So, I have decided that we will talk to world leaders to encourage them to make peace so that we can have peace in our time, imagining the future without imagining opposition to decisions that benefit the world as a whole and not the world as a hole.

    Thank you and good night

    Insert cackle.

Set aside the winner and loser in the Elections… our Nation and the World have six more months with Joe Biden as the head of the United States.
Some Nations appreciate the US, some are adversaries. But I think ALL Nations look to the United States for it’s rational actions on the World’s stage… I think it would be safer to have a mad man like Sen. Jeffries in charge than a man who freezes up on any question bigger than what flavor of ice cream he wants today.

Never thought I’d ever be in favor of making Kamala Harris the President, but here I am.

Unlike common belief, Biden still has enough dishonesty, vanity and greed to fight tooth and nail, along with Dr. Jill and the young, dumb sycophants that seem too much in charge. The powers that be outside the White House, not so much love anymore. Palace intrigue galore. This may become like a Shakespeare play. The battle is drawn.

I watched the first episode and enjoyed it. My only minor suggestion would have been to have included more color on the SCOTUS vote on each decision discussed. Also, as a claimant, who will likely now get nothing, I personally found the Purdue Pharma/Sackler 5-4 decision appalling; and would have liked to have heard some comment, but realize it may be of limited interest.

What is appalling about it? SCOTUS followed the law as they saw it. If Congress wants to create an exception for global settlements regarding opioid addiction, they can.

What is appalling is that 5-4 is extremely close and SCOTUS chose not to come down on the side of the victims’ families who were overwhelmingly in favor of the settlement. They may never get anything now, as the Sacklers have the resources to extend this for a very long time. Also, there is the well-known global settlement for families of those who died of mesothelioma. Finally, my understanding is that we can thank FJB for challenging this in the first place, historically, in every instance, the opposite of what is right.

Joe clearly has diminished capacity, and I don’t think any of this has happened by chance.
I can’t help but to feel as if we are being set up.

The Scrolletter: Who’s really running the White House? Because we now know for certain it isn’t Turnip Truck Joe.
Never one for modesty, Obama also–as David Samuels observed in Tablet last August –made sure to drop O.J. Simpson If I Did It-style hints about how a “hypothetical” surrogate presidency might work: “That Obama might enjoy serving as a third-term president in all but name, running the government from his iPhone, was a thought expressed in public by Obama himself, both before and after he left office. “I used to say if I can make an arrangement where I had a stand-in or front man or front woman, and they had an earpiece in, and I was just in my basement in my sweats looking through the stuff, and I could sort of deliver the lines while someone was doing all the talking and ceremony,” he told Steven Colbert in 2015, “I’d be fine with that because I found the work fascinating.” Even with all these clues, the Washington press corps–fresh off their years of broadcasting fantasies about secret communications links between Trump Tower and the Kremlin–seemed unable to imagine, let alone report on, Obama’s role in government.”

The Magic Negro received the Nobel Prize because of white guilt; he ain’t too bright but he’s clean and well-spoken. What Barry does have an abundance of is chutzpah.

“…claiming his “cognitive decline” is a “national security threat.””

Leftists don’t care. It’s part of their plan to ‘fundamentally change America’: Open borders. Astronomical debt. Impotent military. Civil unrest, Stasi FIB, Weaponized DOJ, Perverted administration, etc. Leftists WANT the chaos. JoeBama is their poster boy. They know he’s not in charge of anything. That’s why the dementia debate will not change anyone’s mind.

It’s part of their plan to ‘fundamentally change America’. We are at war. Prepare accordingly.
