Sonoma State U. President Retires After Being Put on Leave for Agreeing to Boycott Israel

President Mike Lee was on administration leave for agreeing with the anti-Israel mob “without the appropriate approvals.”

Sonoma State University President Mike Lee announced his retirement a few days after the school put him on administration leave for an agreement he made with the anti-Israel mob.

Chancellor Mildred Garcia put out a short statement:

”President Ming-Tung ‘Mike’ Lee has informed me of his decision to retire from his role at Sonoma State University. I thank President Lee for his years of service to the California State University—starting at California State University, Sacramento—and to higher education overall. I wish him and his family well.

I will continue to work with Acting President Nathan Evans and our Board of Trustees leadership during this transitional period. Additional information will be forthcoming.”

On Thursday, Garcia announced Lee was on administration leave for agreeing with the mob “without the appropriate approvals.”

Lee caved to almost all of the mob’s demands:

In addition to an academic boycott, Sonoma State University’s Mike Lee agreed Tuesday to the establishment of an “advisory council” of Students for Justice in Palestine — whose national umbrella organization praised the Hamas-led October 7 terror onslaught that started the war in Gaza — to ensure compliance with the deal, which also includes a section on “disclosure and divestment.”

Did he “cave” or did he agree with the Hamas lovers?

Chances are excellent he is ideologically aligned with these supporters of terrorists.

We have a few out, thousands more useless administrators to go, a few small steps for mankind.

Hmmm, early “retirement” seems to be endemic among woke, incompetent presidents these days. First Kim Godwin, who recently “retired” as president of ABC News. And now this.

May the trend continue.

Retired because he didn’t follow the chain of command. If he had pushed the decision to his superiors, would they have likewise caved in?

A long sabbatical in Gaza would have been appropriate.

he is also considering changing his name to yassar

No need to boycott Israel any longer. The dock in Gaza has been completed, which by the way was not built to off-load food and supplies. Rumor has it that it was built to load-up Palestinians to ship to America.

Please tell us that “retired” actually means “fired” and that he is relying on his IRA/401K from now on.

Because the idea that he is being further funded by the taxpayers is disgusting.

He is going to retire very comfortably. The 3 and 30 plan which all government employees (county, city and state) work under gives the retiree as much as 90% (3% x30 yrs max) of their last year salary for life. Plus, as with all gov’t. jobs, a COLA increase every 6 months. It gets worse, they can also go and get another gov’t job and begin the process all over again. This is why it is a goal for a vast majority of the families to try and get at least one of the household earners a government job.

I read about this system in the WSJ well over 20 years ago and is another reason why California is bankrupt.
