Campus Riots a Marriage of ‘Year Zero’ Leftists and Eighth Century Islamists
“This is a serious situation. It’s the extreme left that wants to tear us down. Almost Khmer Rouge, go back to Year Zero and start over. And the extreme Islamists, who are worshiping Hamas, who want to take us back to the eighth century.”
I appeared on the Jesse Watters’ show on Fox News tonight to talk about the anti-Israel and anti-American campus riots and encampments sweeping colleges and universities.
Before I appeared, Jesse gave a 15-minute monologue which was very hard hitting on the nature of the protests.
There’s a terror nexus staring us right in the face. Mob rule’s won before and now these radicals have the same expectations. Biden can say “don’t” all he wants, but our enemies don’t listen to him, so why would our citizens? pic.twitter.com/na5cyN9Vra

My segment lasted just over 3 minutes, which is forever in prime time.
I felt I got to say what I wanted, and didn’t leave much on the table.
Transcript (auto-generated, may contain transcription errors)
Watters (00:00):
Cornell Law Professor William Jacobson joins me now. So you went through a little bit. What’s going on with you, professor?
WAJ (00:10):
Well, when I spoke out against Black Lives Matter [in 2020], I was targeted, but there’s a much bigger problem now than the riots of 2020.
We have on our campuses and in our cities, a marriage between the extreme left, the extreme left that wants to tear us down, that hates the United States, is anti-American, anti-Western, anti-capitalist, and the Islamists who hate America, hate Israel.
So everything you’re seeing is really a social contagion. You have highly ideologically motivated leaders, organizers, and you have a bunch of students who, many of them, maybe not most, but many of them are going along because it’s the thing to do. Hating Israel, hating the United States, chanting almost like cult-like phrases back and forth, has captured a lot of the campuses.
But this is a serious situation. It’s the extreme left that wants to tear us down. Almost Khemer Rouge, go back to Year Zero and start over. And the extreme Islamists, who are worshiping Hamas, who want to take us back to the eighth century. So this is really a wake up call for this country that what is happening now is not just a social contagion. It is extremely dangerous. And this marriage of the extreme left and the Islamists is not something that we’ve really seen before. And people need to recognize this is a serious situation.
Watters (01:38):
So the Department of Justice tried to frame and concoct a connection between the right and Russia. Remember what they did there with Trump-Russia collusion. They did that fraudulently. There was never any connection between the right and Russia. Here you have the radical left. There’s a direct connection between Islamic forces. It’s staring us right in the face. They’re chanting it, they’re financing it, they’re encouraging it. How come the Feds aren’t looking at this the way they looked at the fake Trump-Russia collusion?
WAJ (02:16):
Yeah, that’s a great question. Because what we are seeing is right out in the open. They’re not even trying to hide it.
They’re wearing Hamas headbands, they’re praising Hamas. They are projecting on buildings ‘glory to the martyrs’. They are chanting for an Intifada, which was the bloody suit of suicide bombing campaign that killed over a thousand Israeli Jews. They chant from the ‘river to the sea’ in English, but the Islamists who were chanting, when they chant it in Arabic, they chant ‘from the river to the sea, Palestine will be Arab.’
So you have manipulation going on here. You have students who want to just be part of the crowd, just like in prior experiences. But it’s worse now because the people who are driving this and manipulating it and speaking really as the mouthpieces of Hamas and of the Iranian regime, have the worst intentions for our country.
Watters (03:12):
Yeah, they sure do. And if you’re a Republican waving a Russian flag, chanting, you know, praise Putin, ho, ho, ho, you’re getting a knock on your door. These people, they don’t mind, they, they let ’em do it all day and it’s just not right. There’s a national security situation here. We gotta look into it. Professor, thanks as always.
WAJ (03:33):
Great. Thank you.

Great interview, exposing converging threats to our civilization,
Excellent job on Jesse and nice framing of the current situation. I think he’s going to be calling on you for more appearances.
Thank you Professor for saying what needs to be said. We as a country, and as the standard bearer for western civilization, laugh this off as silly uninformed college nonsense at our own great peril.
Our educational system from K to college degree has been broken for multiple decades, particularly in the big cities. Inner city children probably can’t even spell “patriotism” nor do they have any useful particle of American history to draw from.
College kids are all about rebellion, so the bad guys found fertile ground there. None of them know what the Nazis really were about nor what the wars of our country represented. In fact, they don’t even know that Israel is the good guy in the Middle East nor why the Gaza land should rightfully belong to Israel.
99% of all college professors should be fired and charged. Those dredges haven’t taught, they’ve tricked their students into conforming to a theory of hopeless anarchy. Hamas is more vile than any Pol Pot or Stalin.
Convincing these kids that they’ve been grossly misinformed and tricked into insane thinking would be like moving a mountain.
Yesterday, my family attended a recognition ceremony at a local town hall in Central Florida. It started by marching three flags onstage, military style, and the entire auditorium stood and recited the Pledge of Allegience. Many Police Officers were promoted and people of the community were honored for their good deeds. It was an amazing contrast to what’s going on in universities across the land, as well as a breath of fresh air.
“Convincing these kids that they’ve been grossly misinformed and tricked into insane thinking would be like moving a mountain.”
Misinformed about what? Be specific
History, science and philosophy would be a start.
Not very specific, my experience is that its the other way around
Be specific.
I will give you an example. History, in all forms, is no longer taught in public school systems. In its place at one Virginia high school, students were asked to read the “historical” writings of Michelle Obama.
Did I really need to write ‘In context’ , not exactly helpful
What context would you like to see addressed. Be specific.
That should have been challenged on Eighth Amendment grounds. Have you seen the drivel that is her “dissertation”?
“History, in all forms, is no longer taught in public school systems.”
Really? So you’ve examined the syllabi in public schools across the country and reached this sweeping conclusion? Oh wait, you gave one anecdote from one high school, Case closed, I guess.
How about these kids being led to the restraints of communism/anarchy? The principle is that eventually, one pair of overalls must be used for twelve people.. Is that SPECIFIC enough? It would take considerable writing to thoroughly answer your question, but almost every person here knows that all the answers are pathetically easy. How old are you?
Old enough to know that right wingers like yourself are FOS which is why I asked the question, your answer is testament to that. Instead of answering the question you’ve deflected to ad hominem. Are you able to illustrate a single specific piece of misinformation.
Spoiler alert: You are in the deep end of the pool…. I’m asking what Bill Cosby once asked… how long can you tread water?
Care to share your CV on “history, science and philosophy” … or is this just the Dunning-Kruger effect? Many comments here come from highly trained and educated people …. care to share?
@alaskabob
Deflecting from answering the questions is demonstrating quite clearly my point. Dunning kruger effect cannot be demonstrated by asking a question. Demonstrate the claim, your the one treading water in this scenario
@jmaquis
Your dodging the question and continuing to do so. If you can’t answer that’s fine just be honest about it. No one honestly answers that way, you could have just picked one point but you didnt
“It would take considerable writing to thoroughly answer your question, but almost every person here knows that all the answers are pathetically easy.”
That’s a nice strident way to dodge the question and come out looking like the smart one.
Not trying to dodge anything. I was simply telling the truth.
Socialism. 44% of 18-29 year old people have a favorable view of it. 40% of the same cohort views capitalism favorably. Should I post the numbers for democrats, marx?
Spin away, retard.
You arent saying anything here, there is nothing inherently wrong with socialism given that its a broad church and the US has plenty of very positive examples if its operation. The same applies to capitalism. The real question is what particular things suit which system better which can of course be argued.
I’ll ask again what specific piece of misinformation can be cited. A bland statement of ‘socialism’ is hardly specific is it.
“there is nothing inherently wrong with socialism”
I needed a laugh. Thanks, marx! Spin noted.
Using the power the State to forcibly take private property of one group not to meet the basic, limited core functions of Govt but instead to redistribute that property to another group seems bad. Many refer to it as ‘legalized theft’ particularly when no limiting principle is ever offered up by the supporters of this redistribution of confiscated property.
Lenin said that communism is socialism in a hurry. The welfare state is not socialism which is why many confuse them when commenting on Europe.
@commochief
It helps if you actually talk about the correct thing. Communism wants that process as a revolutionary process socialism typically does not. Also socialism as already pointed out has a wide range of views with respect to nationalisation and generally seeks a democratic mandate. It’s also the case that privatisation has been a complete disaster in multiple contexts. Just look at the US health system it’s absolutely dreadful
@alaskabob
The welfare state is absolutely a socialist ideal. You’re just plain wrong on this point.
“99% of all college professors should be fired and charged. ”
Charged? With what?
If the globalists can tie up Trump with phoney lawsuits, impeach, etc. there’s that’s proof that there is a remedy for this garbage and that goes double for the deadbeat administration that serves as their cheerleaders.
Complacency with a yawn is no way to combat the people that are pretty successfully taking away the freedom so many fought for. How about TREASON in a military tribunal ?
Your attitude is helping the wrong side.
“phoney lawsuits” there is tonnes of evidence of Trumps guilt, the current trial in NY has already been damning against Trump.
Don’t be ridiculous. There is zero criminality in this entire lawsuit. It’s obviously a political hack job and so are you.
@jmaquis
There is tonnes of evidence for example
Fraudulent documents denoting the purpose of payments, recorded calls, testimony for multiple witnesses including David pecker, Hope hicks, Michael cohen. The list goes on
What freedoms are college professors taking away from you?
Formaldehyde?
I’m not so certain about getting to 99%. I do know(*) quite a fraction might well be charged with fraud. The fraudulent fraction seems to go up as “professors” move upward in administration.
(*) “Know” — There’s an as yet unnamed rhetorical move around standards of proof, similar “motte and bailey argument.”
A not terrible take on motte and bailey here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motte-and-bailey_fallacy
The other is something like “the sliding standards hack” Like this:
My claim, which you don’t much like, must be supported rigorously. Your claim is held true on far weaker evidence.
So, just making up a wild hypothetical here, any number of clinical studies and observations about treatments for The ‘Rona aren’t good enough. They’re not population-scale, prospective, double-blind studies, so pee-pee, ca-ca. While The Science supporting the other policies doesn’t have to have that.
“99% of all college professors should be fired and charged.”
Really? 99%? Charged with what exactly? And I guess you’ve determined by a very careful, scientific analysis that exactly and only 1% of college professors are not only worthy of keeping their jobs but aren’t deserving being brought up on some kind of charges?
Hamas is worse than Pol Pot or Stalin?
“So the Department of Justice tried to frame and concoct a connection between the right and Russia. Remember what they did there with Trump-Russia collusion. They did that fraudulently. There was never any connection between the right and Russia”

“A sitting Ukrainian lawmaker who helped Rudy Giuliani smear Joe Biden during the 2020 US presidential campaign has been jailed on suspicion of treason”
So have priests, political opponents, and journalists criticizing Ukraine’s leadership.
I’m not clear your claim is true, feel.free to providing a supporting citation
Great segment….
(I generally watch Jesse the following morning.)
Clear and concise, even I got the concept,,, We are facing a perfect storm of sorts, multiple factions uniting to destroy the nation.. SMH
TY Professor.
You are the best professor. I wish I were smart enough to have gained entry into a school that would have allowed me to register for your courses. Keep up the great work!
Conservatives need to pull their kids out of these institutions and just let these two factions of the Democratic Party coalition just fight each other in this election year.
Never interrupt your enemy when he’s making a mistake.
I was in Berkeley during the entire Free Speech Movement and anti-Vietnam war period. While there are similarities to today’s student movements, there are also differences, the major one of which is the new Islamist-Hamas wrinkle.
Islam last had its day in the sun in the 8th century, and now demands it again. A good overview of this history is available in some of Bernard Lewis’s work, including “The Crisis in Islam”, which helps explain this phenomenon. This will be a tough nut to crack, and I wonder if the US and western Europe have the leadership to take it on at the scale it’s being perpetrated. These Islamist actors will not stop until they have converted the entire world’s population to their religion, and they are in this for the long game. Recruiting America’s youth is a clever place for them to begin.
I think that the best solution to Muslim terrorism is to stomp Iran into the stone age.
The leftists keeps moving the goal posts. There is no such thing as being too far to the left for them.
the left made this agreement years ago with america
you create a great capitalist machine and we will exploit it and destroy you from within
we will 9 11 you and then take over your political system
thank you for playing along
This sure does seem like the biggest outbreak of “terrorist cosplay” in years
“From the river to the sea, why just now does it hurt when I pee?”
