“This is an openly anti-American movement, which is using Israel as the scapegoat”

“Academia, particularly at the level of Columbia and the Ivy League, is completely broken. I don’t think it can be repaired internally. They have created over 20 to 30 years a unified monoculture which is hostile to western values, which is hostile to capitalism, and which exploits and singles out Israel as the object of their ire as a mobilizing tactic…. People need to understand that there is no internal opposition left.”

There is a plus-side to the vile anti-Israel and antisemitic encampments at Columbia and several other universities – the anti-American side of the movement is on full display. As I’ve been saying for years, the racialized and radicalized campuses are a threat to our nation, now they have shown their hand for all to see.

When they burn American flags, and when they chant for the destruction of the U.S., they are showing us who they really are.

It’s going to get worse.

After spending months screaming for an Intifada (the suicide bombing campaign against Israel), don’t be surprised when some of them try to fulfill their sick fantasies.

Remember, they made a hero of the guy who set himself on fire. They are normalizing the Shahids.

It’s a dangerous cult.

The role of faculty also is being exposed. Faculty are the instigators and are trying to play the role of protectors.

Faculty are a major source of the problem. Anti-Zionist faculty see activism as a central part of their teaching role. There is almost no counter-balance, pro-Israel faculty with rare exceptions don’t get hired b/c the hiring committees are run by anti-Zionists. Academia is broken beyond repair.

I had a chance to talk with Chris Beers about this on NTD TV today, Dehumanization of Jews Led by University Faculty:

Pro-Palestinian protests at Columbia University have led to one rabbi linked to the school calling for Jewish students to stay home for their safety. NTD spoke with Cornell Law School professor William Jacobson about the legal ramifications of the famed university’s policies, which are leaving the door to discrimination open.

Transcript (auto-generated, may contain transcription errors)

Chris Beers (00:00):

For legal analysis of the pro-Palestinian protests we’re seeing on university campuses, we’re joined by Cornell Law School Professor William Jacobson. Thank you for your time. William.

A Columbia rabbi is telling Jewish students to stay home for their safety while these protestors are allowed to stay on campus. You’re the founder  of the Equal Protection Project, ensuring the law is being administered fairly in the country. Is there some kind of civil rights violation in all of this?

WAJ (00:30):

Well, there potentially is because Columbia receives federal funding. Therefore they have to comply with the federal civil rights laws. And they cannot allow a campus where people are harassed and denigrated based on their religion or based on their national origin. And based on the videos that have been released, there’s incontrovertible evidence that there is widespread harassment of Jewish students, widespread harassment of Israeli students or people supporting Israel. So I think, yes, there, there are legal problems.

But at it’s core, this is a cultural problem. This is an openly anti-American movement, which is using Israel as the scapegoat.

Beers (01:11):

And will it come down to that? Do you think that these colleges will end up losing funding over this? What would that take?

WAJ (01:17):

Probably not. The reality is in the Biden administration, probably not, because there are many in the Biden administration who are very sympathetic to these protests and these protesters. But that doesn’t mean that alumni can’t cut them off. And I know in your intro you mentioned Robert Kraft. He should have cut off his funding a decade ago. The problems at Columbia have been known and well-documented for over a decade, maybe 20 years. And so people need to wake up. And not just Jewish donors.

Donors who truly believe in the value of higher education should not be funding what has amounted to a pogrom against Jews and against pro-Israel students on campus.

Beers (01:58):

Talk to us about how things have gotten to this point on these college campuses.

WAJ (02:03):

I’d say you have to go back really 10, 20 years. There has been a gross dehumanization of Israeli Jews and of Israel on campuses led mostly by faculty.

There is no diversity of viewpoint among faculty on campuses, not just on domestic issues. We often talk about Republican versus Democrat and how there are no Republican professors left pretty much. The same is true for Israel.

There are almost no openly pro-Israel professors left because they don’t get hired. If you have anything Zionist on your CV, on your resume, the likelihood of getting hired in the humanities or the social sciences at a place like Cornell or at Columbia, or at Harvard or at Yale, is close to zero.

So they have over 20 years weeded out diversity of viewpoint when it comes to Israel, just like they’ve weeded out diversity of viewpoint on domestic issues.

Beers (03:01):

Now, it sounds like you’re talking about the professors being held to this standard, but what about the administration of these universities?

WAJ (03:08):

Well, the administration lets this happen. They see what’s going on. It’s been no secret. The criticism of what’s been happening at places like Columbia has been vocal for over a decade. But the administration doesn’t care. And that might be because they sympathize with those professors. They are part of that culture. They are part of the anti-Western anti-Israel, antisemitic culture that has flourished on a lot of these campuses. So the administrators are to blame. They are highly compensated. Some of them make seven figures depending on the university, and they just go along with what’s happening. They don’t try to rock the boat. They’re frankly afraid of their own students and afraid of their own faculty. So there is a major problem at the administration level in higher ed at these elite schools.

Beers (03:56):

So yeah, what you’re talking about is systemic. There’s the students, the professors, the administration. I mean, what about the board? Where does this, where does the buck stop here?

WAJ (04:06):

You’d think the board of trustees at these places would be more active. But in most of the instances, they’re not. They are part of the system.

People have to understand, and I’ve been yelling about this for a long time, that academia, particularly at the level of Columbia and the Ivy League, is completely broken. I don’t think it can be repaired internally. They have created over 20 to 30 years a unified monoculture which is hostile to western values, which is hostile to capitalism, and which exploits and singles out Israel as the object of their ire as a mobilizing tactic.

So higher ed is deeply broken. People need to understand that there is no internal opposition left.

Beers (04:55):

And William, just in the last 30 seconds or so, what’s the solution here?

WAJ (05:00):

I think the solution has to come from outside the universities. Congress can cut funding. Congress can revoke tax exempt status. These are supposed to be educational institutions. Congress has a lot of power. It’s not going to come administratively from the Biden administration. You’d think the Department of Education would be more active than it is, but it’s not going to happen under this administration. So I think that donors, I think government, I think passing restrictions on the use of federal funding. Those are possible solutions, but they’re really stop gap.

Until you change the culture of these institutions, nothing’s going to really change.

Beers (05:39):

All right. William Jacobson, professor at Cornell Law School and founder of EqualProtect.org. Thank you so much.

WAJ (05:47):

Thank you.

One possible solution I didn’t think to mention. Get rid of the damaging, intellectually useless make-work departments which serve as a job corps for people who want to tear us down. Their tenure doesn’t protect them if the department is eliminated. This will never take place at the Columbias of the world, but it can take place through defunding at public universities.

This is going to get worse, a lot worse.

Like Israel Apartheid Week, started long ago to acclaim, would have no effect.

This stuff started in Europe, where appeasement and lawfare became tools, and students taught disdain for Israel. Few of these dupes ever met a Jew.

It’s a framework for the America haters to appropriate the antisemitic conflict and attach it to hate of all things liberal.

If only these people could taste their own medicine and be subject to the people they love. These are true Hamasholes.

Refashioned slogans.
Hands Off Iran (2024)
Hands Off Russia 1919 and 1935 (and more).
Oink, oink, oink, PIG! (Yesterday)
Torchlight parade. (last night)
Scrawling Juden on shop windows.
Blocking pedestrian thoroughfares (no Jews on sidewalks)

It’s Marxism for Dummies.

I didn’t see anything antisemitic in the Table of Contents there. Plenty of anti-American stuff, but not antisemitic. I’ve also noticed that some of the wokesters (for example a chat I lurk in) are mostly hands-off this latest thing at universities. They care about the “Palestinians” but they’re not up for antisemitism at home.

So emphasize the antisemitic aspects at home of what’s happened (it’s already happened, too late to go back and say it was OK) on US college campuses. It’s an issue the left knows is a loser for them. We’ve already agreed that “America” is fracturing, even the MAGA Trump team is demoralized now because of his betrayals esp. of the J6 people, so probably better to place the emphasis elsewhere if we want to win.

These grifters are Marxist morons adopting a pro Hamas stance b/c Israel is a convenient target to use as a proxy for Western Civilization in general and anti USA rhetoric in particular. The antisemitism is an added bonus for many of these morons. Theses are largely the same folks running around as Covid Karens, slobbering all over Fauci and using his pronouncements as cover to implement the fascism they so desperately want. The lunacy on Campus and the disruptions of Airports, bridges, roadways in major Cities is straight out of the 1930’s Fascist playbook.

I’d say that’s backward. Marxism is an issue that can win these days. Antisemitism is a tougher sell. Besides, we have legal protections, the civil rights laws, that guard against antisemitism. But Marxism generally is a political choice.

It’s shameful in retrospect that so many Jews were on the Marxist side in prior decades, and it’s made us a lot of enemies. But now since 10/7 I think that’s changed a lot already and the public can see that, and there’s a lot of good will for us if we label antisemitism when we see it.

The “anti-Semitism” is a tool, being wielded for the sake of disruption, like transgenderism, DEI, feminism, climate change, pandemic response, recession/inflation, and just about every other GD thing they manufacture to put us off-balance and make us more susceptible/vulnerable to “fundamental change,” the “Great Reset,” the “great replacement,” and other, similar manifestations of the same threat – global Marxism.

When it arrives to disrupt the wrong scene the wailing and gnashing of teeth will be heard around the globe.

2024 Leftists successfully incorporated all of the worst elements of 20th century ideologies.

1) Biological fascism (NAZI).
2) Economic fascism (Italian-French syndicalism).
3) Leninism.
4) Maoism.
5) Anarchism (anti-capitalist black block/antifa Marxist adjacent green army Makhnovists).

Even back in the 2000’s when I was in school so recall Israel apartheid week and the SJP idiots typically run by anti semetic faculty erecting their fake walks and doing “die ins.” The students who joined that group back then were Arab or Nation of Islam kids , and frankly weirdo white kids who had no friends. In my day, people laughed at them and thought they were stupid and honestly losers. There wasn’t a sense so much of tolerance but of ridicule by most of the student body. I can’t speak for the faculty as they are clearly faculty run groups but I do know several of my professors were openly anti semetic . But again I had recourse back then and could argue with them and complain and other students would speak up and do the same . It was different times and the notion of lock step conformity to a radical viewpoint was not considered cool or virtuous. I feel so sad for these young people that are willingly joining a hate group just to have any sense of purpose, belonging and community.

I was one of those weirdo kids in the 50-60s, I had nothing in common with my peers, but I found companionship with adults. many of whom were Jewish. I have never understood antisemitism.

According to that photographed page from the tract above the article, they (at least the writer of that page) think the general anti-American “anti-colonial” argument has a chance of winning. But they’ll lose if it’s Muslim vs. Jew.

So never downplay the religious/racial aspect. We’re clearly winning that one in public opinion, and those Jewish students are in fact facing special oppression on campus. Drive that point home, don’t let up, don’t forgive any of it.

When Columbia goes “hybrid” meaning Muslims get classes in person and the Jews had better dial in remotely, that’s an obvious civil rights violation against a legally protected class (Jews). Let that process through the legal system for a few years in many jurisdictions. The 1960’s and 70’s civil rights movement didn’t have many violations so egregious to point to — back then it was simply segregation and “separate but equal”. Here it’s not even equal, when one group gets classes on campus and another is intimidated with administration cooperation to stay off campus.

The country was strong when WASPs ruled. They worked hard, didn’t display their wealth and brooked no nonsense. Anyone who exhibited hard work and merit and who also willingly assimilated was assured a fruitful life. Today we live in a demoralizing half jungle, half circus nightmare.

I think the students at Columbia have now clarified that before the death of America, they want America to pay off their student loans.

Does anyone know why Columbia and other universities with trespassing protesters and campers on their lawns don’t start turning on the sprinklers and leave them on 24/7?

I’m no historian, but it seems that these recent behaviors are part of a larger, longer game plan. We have long been assured that Islam is a “religion of peace”. Maybe so, but the proviso is that Islamists will be peaceful only after the entire world’s population has converted to their religion. Once that occurs, then perhaps Islamists can behave peacefully, but until then they will be militant.
Is this campus movement part of this long game, claiming young minds to its cause? Islam has been in the shadows of civilization since the western European Renaissance began in the 14th-17th century AD. Before that the Islamic culture was advanced while western European struggled through the miserable Middle Ages.
Viewed in this historical context, it appears that Islamists want their day in the sun again, which they believe can occur only after Israel has been destroyed. They are playing the long game to re-establish themselves as civilization’s leading light. Until then, these skirmishes will recur over time, using Israel (and the US) as the scapegoat.
The world’s challenges are to 1) contain the violence and vitriol, punishing college students as necessary, and 2) do this while assuring that the Jewish people themselves survive. It’s hard to foresee how these two objectives can be met without destroying both Islamists and Jews together.

They stole their advancements last time. Algebra came from the Hindus, then when the Muslims conquered India they renamed it in Arabic al-gebr .

They’ll steal whatever advancements they get this time too. Reminds me of that Jewish professor who teaches at the Manhattanville campus but is now barred from the main campus. Using Jewish brains but abusing the Jews.

Yes it’s a longer game plan — whole world hegemony bring everything and all into the realm of peace, meaning “submission.”

There is no “you do you” in the basic doctrine.

the msm /dnc have been working overtime for decades to turn

women against men

passing laws and policies to support the same

its working

men are now relegated to second or third tier ( behind emotional service animals) while women ESPECIALLY WHITE WOMEN ( caitlyn clark as one example) are pushed aside for “males” that are now females

the new masters will only be able to sustain on what the wht european built up for them

Get with the program. You don’t have to have surgery to “identify” as female. If you’re male, don’t complain, play the game. If you’re female, feminism has failed you. You had a few very good decades, but now the pendulum has swung.

Only half kidding. Why complain if there’s a path to success available? But as a guy I don’t think I’d play female sports. I’ve had a full life without participating in organized sports beyond gym class (probably because I’m not very athletic), and today’s young males can do so too, rather than making everyone uncomfortable by barging into female sports even though it’s allowed.

Sure looks like the people who yell “Systemic Racism” all the time would know what they are talking about. Just not quite in the way they mean. (Because they are the ones who practice “Systemic Racism” pervasively, and well. Do I have to draw a picture?)

“This is an openly anti-American movement, which is using Israel as the scapegoat”

I’d say “stalking horse” more than “scapegoat”, though they are scapegoating Israel for many things. Within the logic of the movement, Israel is a rallying cry, an example, and bait.
