Tax Exemption for Black Americans Proposed as “Reparations” by Texas Democratic Congresswoman

Al least Jasmine Crockett didn’t suggest the Moon is made of gas.

A Texas congresswoman has suggested that descendants of slaves should be temporarily exempt from paying taxes as a way to distribute reparations.

Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett appeared on an episode of the Black Lawyers Podcast released on Tuesday, suggesting that one way reparations could be paid to descendants of America’s former slave trade is for the group to be given a reprieve from paying taxes for a certain amount of time. The former civil rights and criminal attorney spoke of various ways reparations could be paid to living relatives of enslaved people.

She said that she saw “a celebrity,” whom Newsweek has been unable to identify, suggest that Black people should not have to pay taxes for an undetermined amount of time instead of being given money by a state or the federal government.

“One of the things they propose is Black folk not have to pay taxes for a certain amount of time because…that puts money back in your pocket,” she said.

If this insanity passes, then the federal government should prepare to set aside lots and lots of money for DNA kits. Americans across the country are going to “family lore” their way into claiming they are descendants of slaves brought over from Africa.

Crockett was at least aware-enough to realize many black Americans are already enjoying not paying taxes.

That’s when she suggested that the biggest problem may be that some black people aren’t paying their taxes currently.

‘If you do the no tax thing, for people that are already say, struggling and not really paying taxes in the first place…’ she says, before the host interrupts and says that they ‘may want those checks’ instead from the government.

‘Exactly,’ Crockett responded.

There is a myriad of taxes to which Americans are subjected: Car taxes, property taxes, sales taxes . . . just to name a few. Exactly which taxes should black Americans be exempt from paying?

Unfortunately, it appears that we are likely to be treated to Crockett’s racialist thinking for quite some time.

Crockett recently cruised through a Democratic primary in her Dallas district, securing 91.5% of the vote, according to the New York Times.

She is set to face libertarian candidate Ken Ashby in the race to retain her seat in November.

At least she didn’t propose that our Moon was made of gas. I give you Rep. Sheila Jackson, head of a congressional committee on science.

The former top Democrat on the House Science Committee’s space subcommittee could be seen on video telling Booker T. Washington High School in Houston, “You’ve heard the word ‘full moon.’ Sometimes you need to take the opportunity just to come out and see a full moon is that complete rounded circle, which is made up mostly of gases.”

Jackson Lee went on to say, “And that’s why the question is why or how could we as humans live on the moon? Are the gases such that we could do that?” By contrast, she remarked to high school students that living on the sun is not even remotely feasible, “The sun is a mighty powerful heat, but it’s almost impossible to go near the sun. The moon is more manageable.”

Our Founding Fathers envisioned that Congress would be made up of sensible individuals committed to the common good, possessing at least a modicum of education and intelligence. That recent earthquake in New Jersey was likely them rolling over in their graves.

I am 100 percent for blacks not being part of the federal income system. As a group they extract more money in the form of refundable tax credits than they pay in.

That’s right…. the bottom 48% of wage earners in America pay zero federal income tax.. Worse yet, a large percentage of these people get money directly out of the system in the form of rebates, credits, etc.

Whenever you hear someone crying about the ‘rich’ needing to ‘pay their fair share’ you know that person is either a complete idiot or a gaslighting c*nt.

So, knowing this, break down the black population in the US by income level, and you will realize that a significant majority of blacks already pay no federal income tax today.

So what is this moron bellyaching about?

CommoChief in reply to Paul. | April 14, 2024 at 9:54 am

IMO we should at least have a flat tax of 12% on all sources of income. One deduction making the first $10K of non wage income (rental property, dividends, interest) tax free but otherwise everyone pays the 12%. Then add a head tax for everyone of $360 per year, less than $1 a.day, to go towards paying off Federal debt and a hard budget cap or Amendment to require something approaching a balanced budget.

I like the idea of a flat tax. Our current system is WAY too regressive, and it really irks me to hear politicians pandering with the ‘fair share’ nonsense. Allowing a large segment of society to pay nothing into the system and vote for politicians who promise to give them more freebies is toxic and just not sustainable in the long run.

The Convention of States movement continues to make progress towards a state-led Constitutional Convention, and last year they held a simulated convention. This resulted in six proposed Constitutional amendments, the first of which is focused on fiscal restraints.

The entire set is fascinating, if passed they would really cut the nuts out of the federal government, something this country sorely needs.

Exactly. So you’re exempt from paying taxes now?
Turn in your SNAP and EBT cards, and no more welfare checks or subsidized housing.

Do you mean to include Justice Clarence Thomas, and other conservative Blacks? Time to wash your white sheets before the next Tiki torch rally.

      The asshole is back.

I guess you think SCJ Thomas needs reparations in the form of tax breaks to, you racist fuck.

I identify as black so I’m all in on this. Careful Progressives and Black Mob. This is the world you built so I’m taking advantage.

At least she didn’t propose that our Moon was made of gas. I give you Rep. Sheila Jackson, head of a congressional committee on science.

Jackson-Lee is just carrying on a venerable Democrat tradition of putting brain-dead morons in charge of committees for things they know nothing about. It was John Conyers, dirtbag and CHAIRMAN OF THE HOUSE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE who talked about the “Good and Welfare clause” when trying to argue for the un-Constitutional, national socialized BarkyCare monstrosity. And Hank Johnson was worried that Guam would tip over if the troops all walked over to one side of the island. A gassy Moon is not even the worst idiocy to come spilling out of Jackson-Lee’s pie-hole.

But a retard in government declaring that the Moon is made of green cheese doesn’t affect me. A retard in government trying to steal more of my money to redistribute it to people who owe America more than they could ever hope to repay us is something quite else.

I’m old enough to remember when Jackson-Lee asked if the Mars Pathfinder took pictures of the American Flag.

Me too. To think that midwit was the ranking member on the Science, Space and Technology Committee.

At least she didn’t suggest landing on the sun at night when it is dark and cool there.

This is being supported by the malt liquor, cigarette, weed, and crack industries, who anticipate reaping a windfall. As my dad taught us, there are two types of people. Those whose lives are made better by more money, and those whose lives are made worse. Those who keep demanding more money are about 99% of the latter group. They will never likely see the fact that THEY are the source of all their problems.

Black racism is not only wrong, but tiresome. Perhaps equity calls for treating black bigots like other bigots.

I think reparations are a great idea! Negroes need to reimburse the rest of America hundreds of billions of dollars for the previous 60 years of burn, loot, murder riots which have hollowed out the core of major metro areas across the country.

Thumbs up.

    Paul in reply to LB1901. | April 13, 2024 at 2:57 pm

Hundreds of Billions? Try tens of TRILLIONS (with a ‘T’).

LBJ’s ‘great society’ bribes alone have cost more than $20 trillion.

The costs of the societal havoc you mention is likely many tens of Trillions more.

I was specifically referring to the criminal culpabilty of generations of Negroes for their destruction of major metro areas.

Elected leftists looting the treasury to buy votes is another matter altogether…

    JohnSmith100 in reply to LB1901. | April 13, 2024 at 3:35 pm

How about Repatriation instead of Reparations, Libera?

    JR in reply to LB1901. | April 13, 2024 at 7:12 pm

Why do you call Blacks “Negroes”? Why don’t you just use the word you really want to use?

      AF_Chief_Master_Sgt in reply to JR. | April 13, 2024 at 8:39 pm

Yeah, like to one you use every day when referring to how you gonna get those NNNNNN voting Democrat for the next 200 years.

Be careful, your White Savior Hood be showing there “Junior.”

You mean that n word 10 thousand rappers have used for decades in their multi-billion dollar noise industry??

Nope, I’ll say ‘negroes’; a perfectly respectable word used for centuries by Negroes themselves, nat’l negro college fund. Thanks for playing.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to JR. | April 14, 2024 at 12:36 pm

Why not? “Negro”, meaning “black” in Spanish, was the common, non-racist term in use for decades.

Then, one day, one of the churchless “Reverends” deemed it to be racist, and like good little Marionets, we all complied with his demands for Afro-American which became African-American which became black which became Black.

      diver64 in reply to JR. | April 14, 2024 at 5:50 pm

Colored’s? Like in the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People? Ok, let’s use that.

I am all in on reparations with one proviso. $100,000 immediate payment to any person that can prove they are descended from slaves with the understanding they are forever barred from any form of welfare, housing, food, program set asides, preferential treatment in employment or entering college, etc.

They’re trying to establish blacks as the useless race.

JohnSmith100 | April 13, 2024 at 3:29 pm

Then there is the issue of really dumb legislators, morons should not be in office. We cannot afford consequences of their stupidity.

“Well, it’s like in the Army, you know? The great prince issues commands, founds states, vests families with fiefs — Inferior people should not be employed.”
    –Nick Danger, Third Eye

“come out and see a full moon is that complete rounded circle, which is made up mostly of gases.”

She’s just flashing back to her days on the House Space Committee, which was made up mostly of gaseous asses.

More idiotic and unworkable ideas to keep the embers of tribalism glowing.

Trans racial is a thing now. If I identify as black you can’t discriminate me.

Consider the population demographics of Texas (blacks, whites, hispanics)….

This woman is practically begging to be voted out of office.

Nope. Offer up 40 acres of land from Fed Govt Bureau of Land Management holdings and the present value of a mule from post Civil War era. This is the so called ‘broken promise’ which seems to be the wellspring of reparations demands. Go have at it creating a homestead or refuse it on an all or nothing basis. Title to be granted after 7 years of occupation/residence and continuous improvements to the land.
