Pro-Israel Jewish Columbia Professor Shai Davidai Blocked From Main Campus

Pro-Israel Jewish Columbia Professor Shai Davidai Blocked From Main Campus

“So they are willing to use Jewish brains, but they don’t want to let Jewish people in.”

Jewish Columbia University professor Shai Davidai revealed the school locked him out. “Deactivated” showed up when he tried his key card at the Morningside Heights campus, the location of the anti-Israel encampment:

Israeli-born Shai Davidai, an assistant professor at Columbia Business School and an outspoken supporter of the Jewish state, said when he swiped his key car at the school’s Morningside Heights campus it read “deactivated,” prompting a crowd of pro-Israel protesters to shout “Let him in!” and “Shame!”

“They are not letting me on main campus. But listen to the irony — I was just told by [Columbia’s Chief Operating Officer Cas Holloway] that I am [to be] let on the campus of the business school where I’m teaching tomorrow,” he told a crowd of pro-Israel rallies near the school’s gate on Monday.

“So they are willing to use Jewish brains, but they don’t want to let Jewish people in,” he said.

The key card still works at the Manhattanville campus, “where he teaches at the business school.”

Comments

I’m on the pro Israel side of this, but I would really like to know if he was truly caught by surprise on his deactivation or if it’s more performative in nature (meaning he was informed). The demonstration behind him would seem to suggest the latter.

Columbia University: JUDEN RAUS!

Some say that history doesn’t really repeat itself. But, sometimes it does rhyme. However, it sure does feel like it’s beginning to repeat itself. New York City 2024 is definitely vibing like Germany 1937.

I have felt for a long time that the culture shift in the US was beginning to remind me of Weimar Germany. Add in the influx of muslims and their ‘religion of peace’ and a potent mix is formed. They see their actions have zero negative consequences for them so it continues. The fact that there is no visible pushback or repudiation of these vile behaviours by those in power is very telling. I used to wonder how it was that preWW2 Germany could go down the road of ‘Juden raus’ and yellow stars. I always thought it could never ever happen in the US.
More and more it looks as if I was wrong.

I know why: he said yesterday (I think) that he was going to walk into the midst of the pro-terrorists and sit down. I’m sure the college was afraid of the results – visual and physical – of that action, and decided to preempt it with something less visually viral.

    So they lock him out?

GWB in reply to gonzotx. | April 22, 2024 at 12:32 pm

Yes, hoping he can be kept from visual martyrdom. He is just going to yell and agitate people a little. Imagine what happens when the protesters lay hands on him? Oof, I doubt Columbia could live that one down, even in a Congressional committee.

Perhaps we should take bets on which university will be the first to have Jewish students murdered due to spineless leadership.

They still have an encampment on campus? I thought the cops broke that up. Now they’re back minus the tents?

Sanddog in reply to GWB. | April 22, 2024 at 2:27 pm

They’re like the cops in London. They’ll pander to the pro-Palestinian side because they know all it will take is a gentle shove before they all turn violent. They don’t want to have to admit the situation is out of their control.

Subotai Bahadur in reply to Sanddog. | April 22, 2024 at 6:45 pm

And they know that their bosses are on Hamas’ side, and if they do anything against pro-Hamas demonstrators they will have to pay for it.

These universities will finally enforce their existing policies after a Jew has been killed on a college campus.

    Maybe

artichoke in reply to nyin. | April 22, 2024 at 2:25 pm

Probably not. They’ll add rules against the Jewish students “for their safety”. This is an important moment. There is absolutely no excuse for locking this faculty member out, he followed all university rules unless I have not heard differently. The university should be forced to justify it.

The pro-Palestinians must accept his sitting down with them in a public area. If not, they should be expelled. They have no business at a university. Maybe an online university for them where they cannot commit violence on campus.

FOAF in reply to nyin. | April 22, 2024 at 4:43 pm

    Maybe not even then.

1) “I am not a Jew with trembling knees!” Menachem Begin

2) Where are the gentile allies?

3) I want the biggest lawsuit on the face of the earth. If Oberlin got in trouble to the tune of $36 million for assisting students who were protesting the Gibsons, Columbia et al deserve to lose much, much more.

Shut it down

Permanently

It needs to be no-stoned, as in “leave no stone standing upon another”. All of these leftist recruitment/indoctrination centers formerly known as “universities” need to be destroyed.

spring of 202o in america as the intifada or the arab spring arose in america

The so called Ivy League is a cesspool of anti Semitism and Nazism

Calling all lawyers who want to get rich, quick:

Ivy League universities are literally bending over and opening their wallets really really really really really wide.

Still American Jews will remain oblivious to the fact that their liberal “friends” HATE them.

artichoke in reply to natdj. | April 22, 2024 at 2:28 pm

I think a lot of them are coming around. Not the liberal “allies” but the formerly liberal Jews.

But they aren’t really “formerly liberal.” They will still be liberal (like all the other “red-pilled” folks) but this is too much progress for them.

Is he full-time or part-time and only teaching at a branch campus?

That said, this looks bad for Columbia as if they don’t have enough bad looks already.

Real American | April 22, 2024 at 2:21 pm

School: You’re kicked out for your own safety.
Jews: Safety from whom?
School: Us.

American Jews, WAKE UP, STOP VOTING LEFT! Stop promoting the woke ideologies tearing this country apart. WAKE UP or it is your funeral.

I would not be Surprised if Columbia’s endowment and yearly gifts do not come from 50%, 70% Jewish donors. Imagine were that to dry up instantly. Really it is the only way to save “higher” education from itself.

Gonna be funny/sad when Jews. find their safe spaces are NASCAR events and Baptist churches.
