Israel Will Respond to Iran Attacks ‘in the Place, Time and Manner it Chooses’

Israel Will Respond to Iran Attacks ‘in the Place, Time and Manner it Chooses’

“We cannot stand still from this kind of aggression.”

Israel promised to respond to the numerous attacks from Iran while working with the U.S., but it sounds like Israel will not cower. GOOD.

“Israel will act out of strategic wisdom, and will respond in the place, time and manner it chooses. And this is not the place to elaborate,” stated war cabinet minister Benny Gantz.

From The Times of Israel:

The Israeli military said Iran would not get off “scot-free” following its unprecedented missile and drone attack early Sunday, as the country’s leaders continued to mull how to balance a forceful response with calls by the United States and other allies to keep the round of fighting from snowballing further.

“We cannot stand still from this kind of aggression,” Israel Defense Forces spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari told reporters in English at Julis military base near Kiryat Malachi, while displaying the remains of an intercepted ballistic missile. “Iran will not get [off] scot-free with this aggression.”

It was the latest threat from military officials, after IDF chief Herzi Halevi vowed Monday night that “there will be a response” to the approximately 350 drones and missiles launched at Israel late Saturday and early Sunday.

No matter what, Israel will respond to Iran’s attacks. World leaders have had the nerve to tell the country not to retaliate. The absolute nerve of these people.

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto told Israel “to be mature and act according to the rules of international law” when responding to Iran.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed to American Jewish leaders that escalating any violence with Iran “is not in Washington or Jerusalem’s interests.” He insisted the U.S. is not telling Israel what to do and the response “is ultimately Israel’s decision.” But still…don’t do it, right?

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak obviously received his talking points because he also told Israel “that significant escalation was in no one’s interest and would only deepen insecurity in the Middle East.”

Imagine telling America these exact same things after 9/11.

Hamas Hostage Deal

Hamas reportedly handed over a new proposal for a hostage-truce deal:

Having rejected the terms of last week’s Cairo proposal for a hostage-truce deal, the Hamas terror group on Sunday reportedly presented mediators with a proposal of its own that requires Israel to end the war in the first, six-week phase of a three-phase process. No hostages would be freed in those first six weeks. Rather, all the hostages would be freed over the second and third phases, each of them also lasting six weeks, in exchange for large numbers of Palestinian security prisoners.

The proposal, whose terms are far more demanding of Israel than those put forward by US-coordinated mediators last week, further specifies that, during the initial, six-week phase, displaced Palestinians would be allowed to return unimpeded to northern Gaza, and the IDF would withdraw from all urban centers in the Strip.

According to the Qatari-funded Al Jazeera, Hamas has submitted the proposal to the mediators. As of this writing, Israel has not publicly commented on it.

Yeah, not releasing the hostages in the first six weeks?

I haven’t been around much, but last I remember (and correct me if I’m wrong), Hamas has no idea where the hostages are located.

Killed Hezbollah Senior Commander

Israel also announced it killed Muhammad Shahouri, a senior commander of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan force, in Southern Lebanon:

Shahouri was targeted while driving in the village of Kfar Dounine, adjacent to Chehabiyeh.

The IDF says Shahouri was “responsible for the planning and execution of many rocket [attacks] towards the Israeli home front,” from the western and central areas of southern Lebanon.

Alongside Shahouri, another Hezbollah commander, Mahmoud Fadlallah, was killed in the strike. The IDF says he was also a member of Hezbollah’s rocket unit.

“in exchange for large numbers of Palestinian security prisoners”

Why should war criminals be released in exchange for the bodies of hostages?

Or will they accept the “security prisoners” in the same condition as the hostages?

Hopefully, Israel will fully avail themselves of this opportunity. causing serious damage which causes Iran a lot of pain.

IF any Palestinian terrorist prisoners are released, they should be in the same physical condition as the missing and presumed dead Israelis who were kidnapped. It would not be a bad thing if there was porcine involvement in the return of the Palestinian terrorists.

The sovereign state of Iran used its national armed forces firing from its own territory to attack the sovereign state of Israel. Looks like a declaration of war by Iran on Israel. I see no reason for quarter to be granted.

I would love to see the Israeli negotiator walk in and say “You’re losing this war you started so you do not get to decide on terms. Release all the hostages right now, hand over all the planners of Oct 7, and maybe we will consider not killing every one of you.” Then walk out.

“Time and place of its choosing” … They just need to make a point with Iran. Finishing off Gaza/Rafah is a key objective. They can make a point with a little damage to Kharg Island oil facilities. Taking out Iran nuclear facilities is a major undertaking and perhaps not even completely possible – so doubt that is on the table.

Not a little damage, they should level Kharg island. There should be nothing remaining there. There would be minimum civilian losses, but it would decimate their economy and make it impossible for them to sponsor terror.

You don’t have to take their nuclear sits out, just make the area so radioactive that they cannot access them. That does not have to be done with a nuke.

Another approach would be dropping directed kinetic weapons from space, which I am sure would be capable of nailing them far underground.

Is there any better place to test these weapons?

I think your doubt is justified. For a variety of reasons, I don’t think Israel has the capability to destroy the Iranian nuclear program. Something like that would likely require a significant intervention by the US….which of course isn’t going to happen so long as Biden is president. When Iran eventually detonates a nuclear weapon, it’s going to change the dynamic in the Middle East, and the world, in a profoundly dangerous way.

Hamas committed an act of war against Israel. Wars should be fought to win them. Hamas didn’t win (and won’t, even if it escapes destruction, because it will never reach its goal of destroying Israel). But why should Israel not fight to win? Some say eliminating Hamas would only leave a vacuum to be filled by another terrorist organization. This misses the point that the objective of war is to destroy your enemy. Your current enemy should be crushed. Deal with others as they arise.

Yep, destroy Hamas. There is no substitute for victory.
    After the war?

The best potential solution I have seen is an interim IDF security force with gradual transition of political power to the tribal clans. Obviously, there will need to be new educational system eliminating the indoctrination of the culture of hate and death in all schools. Small arms for police forces but no heavy weapons, rockets, etc.

Maybe it will work, maybe not. Self-rule has never been a feature for the people living there. They were ruled by the Ottoman Empire for centuries then the British and then the chaos that ensued before, during and after the Israel War of Independence.

Well, Dark Brandon has to prop up Iran or they’d collapse entirely from their own errors. Can’t have peace break out, even if it’s peace from victory. Iran:

— Spun up n supported a proxy attack on Israel, the proxy is busy losing.

— Proxy attack was severe enough escalation over background radiation violence, Israel united, and responded. (Don’t tear up raver chicks. That pisses off literally everybody.)

— Let coordinator n planner of Oct 7 raid get IDedby intelligence, then located.

— Let coordinator get clipped, demonstrating that their hit-then-hide tactic might now work so well these days.

— Proxies interrupting international commerce. So, having not PO-ed enough folks, decide to PO everybody else.

— Strike Israeli territory with their arms, from their territory. Seems kinda declaring war-y.

— Include their proxies in coordinated attack on Israel. When you dictate common battle plans, proxies don’t look so deniable any more.

They must be following US foreign policy advice. How else to explain them being this dumb?

I’m kind of obsessed with the tunnels. I have read that they have been destroyed, but I’d like to know how and to what extent.

Israel will first destroy the factories that produce the drones and missiles. If they can’t produce them, they can’t be used for an attack.

Iran tested Israel’s defenses and found the weak spots. Iran also said that the attack would be the only reprisal which is a lie. The religion of peace likes to attack on their opponents religious holidays. I predict Iran will hit Israel again April 22 through April 30.
