AstraZeneca Admits That its Covid Vaccine Can Cause Blood Clotting Side Effect

AstraZeneca Admits That its Covid Vaccine Can Cause Blood Clotting Side Effect

Another case of yesterday’s conspiracy theories becoming today’s headlines.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxsTKVw45JM

During a court proceeding related to a class action lawsuit, the pharmaceutical firm AstraZeneca admitted that its Covid vaccine could cause a deadly side effect from blood clotting.

The exceedingly rare reaction is at the heart of a multi million-pound class action by dozens of families who allege they, or their loved ones, were maimed or killed by the pharmaceutical titan’s ‘defective’ vaccine.

Lawyers representing the claimants believe some of the cases could be worth up to £20m in compensation.

Cambridge-based AstraZeneca, which is contesting the claims, acknowledged in a legal document submitted to the High Court in February that its vaccine ‘can, in very rare cases, cause TTS’.

TTS is short for thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome – a medical condition where a person suffers blood clots along with a low platelet count. Platelets typically help the blood to clot.

The lawsuit is focused on the side effects of the vaccine and the consequences of those adverse impacts, which caused death and serious injury in over 50 cases.

Lawyers argue the vaccine produced a side effect which has had a devastating effect on a small number of families.

The first case was lodged last year by Jamie Scott, a father of two, who was left with a permanent brain injury after developing a blood clot and a bleed on the brain that has prevented him from working after he received the vaccine in April 2021. The hospital called his wife three times to tell her that her husband was going to die.

AstraZeneca is contesting the claims but has accepted, in a legal document submitted to the High Court in February, that its Covid vaccine “can, in very rare cases, cause TTS”.

…Fifty-one cases have been lodged in the High Court, with victims and grieving relatives seeking damages estimated to be worth up to £100 million.

The legal battle is being fought in British courts. Due to a bargain, AstraZeneca struck with the UK government at the height of the panicked pandemic response, taxpayers will be on the hook for any payouts resulting from the claims.

One of the claimants who filed suit is Jamie Scott, an IT engineer and father of two left with a permanent brain injury resulting from a blood clot after he received the vaccine in April 2021.

His wife, Kate, told the outlet she’s hopeful the company’s admission will accelerate the outcome of their case.

“We need an apology, fair compensation for our family and other families who have been affected. We have the truth on our side, and we are not going to give up.”

In a statement, AstraZeneca expressed sympathy for anyone who was allegedly harmed by the vaccine, but defended it as a net positive and pointed out that complications are exceedingly rare.

This is another case of yesterday’s conspiracy theories becoming today’s headlines.

This will probably be worse than Thalidomide babies.

    henrybowman in reply to JohnSmith100. | May 1, 2024 at 5:59 am

Depends on how you look at it. These clots are killing almost all their victims. Thalidomide left a generation terribly deformed but still alive.

    BierceAmbrose in reply to JohnSmith100. | May 2, 2024 at 5:46 pm

I was ranting literally “thalidomide all over again” as soon as they were publicly characterizing the jabs, and insisting everyone get them.

A widely administerd, under-tested, novel technology, of mostly novel mechanism. What could possibly go wrong?

Don’t pretend to know more than we do. Double-plus don’t demand, insist and coerce people into doing something, whill pretending to know more than we do. Don’t feed the tinfoil hats.

They are going to try to claim that this one side effect is “exceedingly rare.”

However, the standard for severe adverse events sold to parents for vaccines is 1 severe adverse event (not death) in a million, for all side effects.

The mRNA, the adjuvants, and the pollutants (!) in these shots each make a separate, large contribution to a total that far, far, far exceeds 1 adverse event per million doses.

We are looking at enough deaths, not just severe adverse events, to have a noticeable impact on the death rate and miscarriage rate of countries civilized enough to keep the records.

MattMusson in reply to Valerie. | May 1, 2024 at 7:58 am

The reality is the spike protein causes clots. It you get it from the Covid-19 virus it causes clots. If you get it from the vaccine it causes clots.

When scientists chose the part of the virus they would inject into the body to create immunity against, they accidentally chose the most poisonous part.

BierceAmbrose in reply to Valerie. | May 2, 2024 at 5:49 pm

    “…and the pollutants (!)…”

Yeah, that’s recently emerged into the public knowledge. There’s a lot of stuff in the injected soup from the production process, different from the production process used in development, and characterized (from tiny sample size) for effects.

They did this about as badly as possibly could be. Remarkable.

Anyone who has been keeping up knows this is a side effect, and oftentimes a deadly one.
Will this get out to the public? Will the information change any true believers?

No. They have to defend this to the literal death so that when the next opportunity occurs, the public will be forced into submission.

Some who has literally had 9 shots

MattMusson in reply to Skip. | May 1, 2024 at 8:04 am

Death statistics clearly show that individual batches have killed scores of people while 95% of the batches killed no one. I asked the county’s virologist if they could have been created with too much spike protein? He suggested those batches thawed and refroze concentrating the spike protein in part of the injections.

It’s kind of like Russian Roulette. Most batches are fine. Some will kill you before you walk out the door.

geronl in reply to Skip. | May 1, 2024 at 12:21 pm

Facts will never change the narrative. Truth isn’t the goal of the media, as NPR’s CEO admitted. Just like Jan 6 being the worst thing ever and the summer of 2020 never happened if you read and watch the MSM. The college crap today will also go down the rabbit hole. Anything bad about the vaccines will be dismissed or downplayed and then ignored again forever

All vaccines cause fatal side effects, which is why the makers are protected from lawsuits. The vaccines do more good than harm, particularly when they pretty much wipe out the disease as a pandemic event. Otherwise nobody would make vaccines owing to the liability with juries awarding infinite amounts punitively.

The original covid vaccine worked. Why they kept recommending it after the initial variant was wiped out, I don’t know.

The original variant was gone four months after the vaccinations started, which is proof that each case infected fewer than 1.o others. Math.

CommoChief in reply to rhhardin. | April 30, 2024 at 9:04 pm

So long as all potential risks were disclosed to.each patient aka informed consent during or following a consultation with their Physician who was him/herself fully knowledgeable about the potential risks and able to clearly and accurately convey ALL information known by the Pharmaceutical Companies, regulatory agencies as well as address the the points raised by very knowledgeable skeptics of the Jab then sure.

As we know this was not done. Information and data known to the Pharmaceutical companies and regulators was not publicly released nor were the very valid concerns of skeptics addressed in fact those skeptics were in large part written off as cranks spreading ‘misinformation’ which was then suppressed on public platforms and media by a compliant set of corporate media/tech leaders who were in part, badgered if not actually coerced into compliance with suppression of these folks who we now widely acknowledge were in many respects were absolutely correct.

TL/DR your Physician can explain to you and will explain the risks of standard vaccines but didn’t have the ability to explain the risks of the Jab (which wasn’t a standard vaccine, lets all recall the definition of vaccine was altered midstream for the Jab) b/c the data on risk as well as efficacy wasn’t released. Therefore no one had ‘informed consent’.

rhhardin in reply to CommoChief. | April 30, 2024 at 9:14 pm

They said it was a fast-track release because of the emergency, no long term tests. Everybody weighed their own risks.

A rather large number of people got the vaccine with no problems and no covid. If you’re choosing for yourself, that seems to have been the right choice, for the original variant, playing the odds as they in fact came out.

Soap opera is made out of the exceptions, which is good for the news biz.

        AF_Chief_Master_Sgt in reply to rhhardin. | April 30, 2024 at 9:32 pm

No. Many of us in the healthcare field were told to take the shot or we were out of work.

Every other vaccine had an out clause for religious or moral reasons.

We were not given the option, told that we couldn’t work, that we could t enter stores, travel, and many other restrictions.

I don’t care about whether the clot shot worked for all, some, or none. We were FORCED to take it under duress.

That’s not true. Most of the country did not have free will to opt out of the vaccine.

I took it and I was okay with the risk profile for 2 rounds. After that, it became not worth it and the experiment is officially over for me.

It would have been fine if it wasn’t mandated by threats, harassment, and government overreach. And of course the Dems were behind all of that.

BartE in reply to healthguyfsu. | May 1, 2024 at 2:19 am

          Barte,

That is not a “free” choice. This was a FORCED choice and there are very real differences between the two.

mailman in reply to healthguyfsu. | May 1, 2024 at 6:45 am

Secondly, very few people died BECAUSE of the Chinese Pox and the reality is the vast majority of those deaths were probably dead people walking anyway and didnt require much more than a common cold to push them over the rainbow bridge.

We knew from day one that if you were fit, healthy and active you stood a chance of catching nothing more than a cold. Those who were effected by the Chinese Pox were the elderly and those suffering from serious health issues (like being a fat kient) and that children were practically immune to the Chinese Pox.

However because of people like you, a pointless drug of no real use has been forced upon people who had no need for it with no understanding of the impact this so called vaccine would have on the population down the line. Funny how magically those who had the last to worry about dying from a cardiac arrest are now dropping in numbers not previously seen in history. Man, if only there was an event that happened 4 years ago that could be tied to thus mystery illness eh.

With respect to the deaths no that’s not how it works like at all. The deaths were directly linked to covid you don’t just get to assert they would have died at another time. Stop saying dumb things

Also it wasn’t just the elderly who died was it this is just you showing an epic level of ignorance of the death stats

mailman in reply to healthguyfsu. | May 2, 2024 at 5:20 am

          Barte,

You are highlighting your personal ignorance here.

There were two kinds of “deaths” reported during Covid, being people who died WITH the Chinese pox and those who died BECAUSE of the Chinese pox.

Shark attack victims, people who died in car crashes, people who died because Trump said something mean were marked as having died WITH the Chinese Pox. This group accounted for the vast majority of deaths and even worse, this group was deliberately inflated by health authorities in order to keep people like you afraid and compliant.

Secondly, children were practically immune to the Chinese pox and those most at risk were the extremely elderly and those suffering from multiple serious health issues (with the morbidly obese being right at the top of the list).

Basically if you were fit and healthy you were fine but as with all things sometimes someone in the not at risk group did die. While tragic, ultimately their death was just part of life (sometimes like can be a real bitch).

It’s not surprising that someone like yourself is conflating the two groups but this is to be expected from people who long ago stopped thinking for themselves.

CommoChief in reply to rhhardin. | May 1, 2024 at 6:46 am

Without access to all information that the pharmaceutical companies and regulatory agencies knew about no one had full knowledge of the risks and could NOT make an informed decision. Recall that Pharma and govt regulators worked hand in hand with media/tech to suppress negative info and label skeptics as cranks.

No commochief the conspiracy theorists have not been proven to be correct. Take this case for example, this side effect has been well known for sometime by everyone the issue is how frequent it is. The conspiracy theorist claim was that it was responsible for loads of deaths, and to try and show this anti vaxxers lied through there teeth in numerous instances. Twitter was and probably still is littered with anti vax lies.

Its a fact that the side effects of astra zeneca vaccine have been known for sometime. Here is an article from earlier this year

          https://www.bhf.org.uk/informationsupport/heart-matters-magazine/news/coronavirus-and-your-health/astrazeneca-covid-vaccine

It is also fact that anti vaxxers were lying through their teeth on twitter. Citing stories of people suffering from blood clots caused by the vaccine when it simply wasn’t true. They literally went around pretending that any death that happened was vaccine related despite no proof. It was also the case that the anti vax film about this literally pretended someone died when they were still alive. This is demonstrably the case.

This stands as opposed to your position which is to smear anyone who points out that you CANNOT demonstrate your claims, that you’ve continuously erred in your statements, that your factual wrong, that the claims being made are erroneous and misrepresentative.

CommoChief in reply to BartE. | May 1, 2024 at 6:59 am

Ok please tell is when it was ‘known’ by the public that the official govt position was that the AstraZeneca Jab did carry a small risk of blood clotting injuries and death. How widely, how often and how loudly did the govt and media broadcast this information? Did every govt do so?

Instead of of govt stomping its foot and yelling that any skepticism is ‘conspiracy theory’ they should have immediately released all data about side effects being reported. They should have worked to answer questions, clear up confusion and where the skeptics were proven correct to admit it. Unfortunately govts around the world instead chose to act in ham fisted manner demanding compliance based on false claims about the severity of Covid, danger outside a narrow at risk population of 60+, obese or comprised immune system, nor did the govt accurately state the efficacy of the Jab to prevent infection or transmission.

Ironclaw in reply to CommoChief. | May 1, 2024 at 1:48 pm

CommoChief in reply to CommoChief. | May 1, 2024 at 6:11 pm

Well OK if that’s too hard then the govt should recall that their child labor laws limit the amount/type of work which minors (aka not adults) are allowed to perform and consequently the compensation for that work which puts a cap on productivity and ultimately on the taxes paid to govt.

BartE in reply to CommoChief. | May 2, 2024 at 2:23 am

I’ve already demonstrated that the side effect was known prior to this reporting. It hasn’t exactly been hidden that took 5 seconds of googling. The side effects would have been listed with thr documentation when taking that vaccine.

Government didn’t stomp its foot about ‘any skepticism’ it addressed people who seem immune to facts with grossly distorted views of the science and how it operates.

No offence commchief but your FOS there were no false claims about the severity of covid that would be you. The stats clearly demonstrate you to be completely wrong. Provide me with a source or argument that demonstrates your claim.

Ironclaw in reply to Petrushka. | May 1, 2024 at 1:51 pm

I looked at that list online when I was offered the pfizer jab in Jan 2021, with that list of possible problems I decided that the 99.98% chance of survival if I got covid was a better option.

CommoChief in reply to Petrushka. | May 1, 2024 at 4:03 pm

And did the info you reviewed contain the actual rate for risk of death/serious injury from Covid by age cohort and pre existing heath issues? The vast majority of the younger student/working age population was at very low risk any injury from Covid much less dying from Covid. So a true comparison of risk v reward for the Jab would state the base risk level for age/health and then the amount of improvement with the Jab in that risk level for the same age/health.

Did the information explain that the control group for the Jab trials was intentionally ended before even a full year had passed? Did it state that the pharmaceutical companies didn’t evaluate whether the Jab blocked transmission…which was the basis for the legal and societal pressure to conform and get the Jab?

Of course had the govt, the public health community, the pharmaceutical companies and other Covid Karens pointed out that younger, relatively healthy folks didn’t gain very much if any benefit from the Jab relative to acquired immunity then Jab acceptance would likely have plummeted. In fact these populations assumed more additional risk from the Jab than the small protective increase they may have gained.

That’s right, vaccines train your immune system to fight and defeat a specific disease. Everyone I know that got the covid jab still ended up getting sick and giving it to other people. If that was a vaccine, it was an epic fail.

BartE in reply to Ironclaw. | May 2, 2024 at 2:27 am

How to demonstrate your total ignorance 😂😂 a vaccine doesn’t prevent you getting the disease it gives your body the tools to fight it reducing the severity of the disease in question. Which is why the hospitilation and death rate of the vaccinated is far lower than the unvaccinated.

          @Mailman

What lol what do you think safe and effective meant!? You have no idea do you!?

The risk:benefit ratio for the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines did show more benefit than risk, but it was most notable in those individuals at highest risk, much less so for the young and healthy population.

The vaccinations’ effectiveness was based on their resulting in decreased severity of illness, hospitalizations and deaths compared to the unvaccinated. The vaccinations did not, however, prevent infection or transmission. That became clear just a few months after the vaccinations were initiated when the group of Texas state legislators, all Democrats and vaccinated, travelled to DC, protesting some Texas voting bill passed by the Republican majority. Most or all got Covid and were clearly infecting others within the group.

rhhardin in reply to bev. | May 1, 2024 at 6:32 am

For the original variant, it prevented infection at a high enough rate that each case infected fewer than one other person, which is what is needed to kill off the pandemic, which it did in 4 months. Delta was starting up, and other lines of variants, but it did what they tested it to do for the variant they built it for.

venril in reply to rhhardin. | May 1, 2024 at 9:45 am

BartE in reply to Ironclaw. | May 2, 2024 at 2:28 am

Nope that’s a secondary issue. The primary purpose of a vaccine is to reduce or eliminate the effects of a disease. Again demonstrating your ignorance

Ironclaw in reply to bev. | May 1, 2024 at 12:13 pm

If it doesn’t prevent infection and transmission, it’s not a vaccine. How do we know this? Because they had to change the definition of what a vaccine is so this garbage would fit.

The original covid vaccine worked? News for you- no, it didn’t. And the statistics and way of measuring it proved it didn’t.

Any other vaccines- you get the vaccine, you’re vaccinated. With the original covid shot- “Oh, you got covid? Well, it’s less then 2 weeks since you had the shot, you’re not vaccinated yet!” let’s compare that to a tetanus shot. You step on a rusty nail, the doctor gives you the tetanus vaccine AFTER the fact, it takes hold- you don’t get tetanus. Rabies vaccine the same.

BartE in reply to George S. | May 2, 2024 at 5:12 am

If I recall correctly the FDA warning was that anti vaxxers were taking horse level doses of ivermectim in other words some anti vaxxers were raking massive doses of ivermectim. Also there loads of side effects for ivermectim if you actually could be bothered to look into it you’d know that.

As for HCQ the assessment which still holds today is that it was useless. In fact we now know it was worse than useless it has been shown to have increased morality

Dr’s are supposed to use evidence based medicine not make shit up as they go along so yeah if they don’t follow best practise then they should be struck off

Let’s not forget the CDC eventually came out saying these were fine and actually could help if prescribed early enough. Pity they didn’t come out until 2023 🙄

The vaccines were worthless. People still got sick. They didn’t prevent it. The disease was only deadly for certain specific demographics, forcing the useless vax on everyone was a stupid idea.

Not worthless they did what they were suppose to do
Give a false sense of protection n
      Make people ALOT of money

BartE in reply to geronl. | May 2, 2024 at 5:13 am

Covid affected all age groups, the increase in risk was an exponential relationship. It’s just outright false that it didn’t affect middle aged or younger people.

mailman in reply to BartE. | May 2, 2024 at 5:29 am

Children were practically immune to the Chinese death pox.

The death pox did not become a serious problem until you get in to
The elderly demographic (this already suffering from weakened immune systems) and those suffering from multiple serious health issues.

For everyone else the Chinese pox was just a bad cold.

The numbers do not lie Barte.

“The numbers do not lie Barte.”

Correct the numbers don’t lie which is why I referred to the way the death rate stats represent each population, the numbers show very clearly that it wasn’t a spike for elderly population deaths but a curve starting at a very low number but not zero for children rising dramatically with each population group.

You seem painfully unaware of what the death stats actually are

This link demonstrates the point quite nicely

What is the start date of public knowledge in your ‘for some time’ formulation? That’s a very important point and you keep evading it.

“Here’s an article from last year.”
      That’s fuckin’ timely.

BartE in reply to CommoChief. | May 2, 2024 at 5:15 am

Evading what, that’s a spurious use of the word isn’t it. The key fact is the claim that we have only just found out about the risks is outright false. I’ve already demonstrated that. You moving the goal posts because you’ve got nothing to offer in response isn’t a good look is it.

Oh BTW 2021 article. Another 5 seconds of Google. The entire claim of the article is that somehow is somehow news now it’s not.

Find a more recent article, dummy.

Good grief, do you understand what’s even being talked about!? The claim is that a small group of people suffered from a side effect AND that Astra Zeneca has ‘admitted’ the side effect as part of the court case in recent weeks. This basic premise falls apart when it was well known and understood that this side effect was known publicly at the time. Which is why the case has now fallen apart because of this very a fact. It will be interesting to see the update on here for this news story 😉

New Zealand had a 95 percent vaccination rate and no increase in all cause use mortality.

If there was fraud, it was giving the impression that the disease could be eliminated. We already knew from flu, that respiratory viruses mutate rapidly and elude immunity.

Covid is now endemic. There are lots of silent cases, but its deaths rate is about the same as flu. Lower than traffic deaths. It’s still a big problem for people with compromised immune systems. Transplant patients and such.

gospace in reply to Petrushka. | May 1, 2024 at 9:43 pm

Well, no. New Zealand, with it’s 95% vaccination rate, had and currently has an excess mortality rate.

Seems the official calculated numbers assumed a continued population growth as in the past. Which stopped because- they isolated the islands. When you adjust the numbers to account for that- just like everyone else, excess death rate. Which apparently in 2024 is even higher then most. With a 95% vaccination rate. Hmmm.. probably just coincidence, right?

Perhaps my daily anti-coagulant for AF has protected me?

E Howard Hunt | May 1, 2024 at 8:58 am

Fearing I would be forced to take the shot, I made sure I got the J and J before it was withdrawn. It used old technology and its rare and negative side effects on a certain group were well known.

The question for AZ and the other pharma companies is WHEN did they know clotting was a side effect.

What’s next? Studies admitting that Ivermectin and HCQ were proven to be effect therapies for preventing death from complications arising from the virus?

Pelosi wearing her $500 hermes scarf around her face in the capitol for her fake mask regulation. Such a fraud.

destroycommunism | May 1, 2024 at 12:41 pm

lefty applauds the blood clotting as this will eliminate people who they dont need and will stilllll get their after life votes and then can use collected tax money to give to the illegals

destroycommunism | May 1, 2024 at 12:42 pm

this will only be a reallll issue

when they do the racial study on who got the clots

should it be the protected squad>>>>>>>uhhhh—oh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They admit this now, after they’ve made their money. Too bad they still retain their immunity from lawsuits. That should be contingent upon FULL DISCLOSURE, if you hide results you are vulnerable. Thankfully, the AZ wasn’t widely used here in the States, we had our own clot shots that concealed their results until after they ill-gotten gains. They then tried to hide them for 75 years, just in case you had the notion there might be something good in there.
