‘We Will Enter Rafah’: Defying Biden, Netanyahu Vows to Capture Last Hamas Stronghold in Gaza

‘We Will Enter Rafah’: Defying Biden, Netanyahu Vows to Capture Last Hamas Stronghold in Gaza

Netanyahu: “We will enter Rafah, and we complete our mission of eliminating Hamas to restore security for the people of Israel and bring complete victory to the country.”

Defying mounting pressure from President Joe Biden’s administration, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday vowed to move ahead with his plans to capture the last major Hamas stronghold of Rafah.

“While the IDF is preparing to continue fighting in Rafah, we are facing international pressure to prevent us from entering the area and completing the job,” Netanyahu told soldiers while visiting a military base in northern Israel. “As the prime minister of Israel, I will repel these pressures.”

Since Israeli ground troops entered Gaza in late October, they have reportedly destroyed close to 20 battalion-size terrorist formations of Hamas. With the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) controlling large parts of northern and central Gaza, Hamas’s top leadership has escaped to the southernmost stronghold of Rafah. They have also taken nearly a hundred or so surviving hostages, including elderly, women, and infants, with them — using them as bargaining chips and human shields.

The Israeli prime minister declared that his wartime government was determined to take Rafah, Hamas’s last stronghold and home to its remaining four terrorist battalions. “We will enter Rafah, and we complete our mission of eliminating Hamas to restore security for the people of Israel and bring complete victory to the country,” Netanyahu said.

The statement comes as the Biden White House is drawing new ‘red lines’ for future IDF operations against Hamas terrorists in Gaza.

The Jerusalem Post reported:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected international pressure to prevent the IDF from entering Rafah in a statement made while visiting IDF soldiers on Thursday.

Netanyahu visited the IDF Ofer base, meeting with commanders and soldiers from the 636th Field Intelligence Unit. There, he expressed his intentions to take the highly controversial military action.

“While the IDF is preparing to continue fighting in Rafah, we are facing international pressure to prevent us from entering the area and completing the job. As the prime minister of Israel, I will repel these pressures,” he said.

“We will enter Rafah, and we complete our mission of eliminating Hamas to restore security for the people of Israel and bring complete victory to the country,” Netanyahu continued. (…)

“We have been successfully fighting for five months already, and this is a record time in the history of Israel’s wars,” Netanyahu explained.

“I would like to thank you for your important part in this,” Netanyahu concluded in his remarks to the soldiers. Thank you very much.”

The Biden White House wants Israel to scale down the military operation, which began after Hamas murdered 1200 Israelis and took around 240 hostages during the October 7 massacre, Politico reported Wednesday. “Senior U.S. officials have told their Israeli counterparts the Biden administration would support Israel going after high-value Hamas targets in and underneath Rafah — as long as Israel avoids a large-scale invasion that could fracture the alliance,” the news website said.

President Biden wants Israel to limit its operations to isolated strikes on “high-value Hamas targets,” news reports suggest. The Times of Israel reported that “Washington would back ‘counterterrorism operations’ rather than full war offensive.”

Israeli airstrike eliminates Hamas commander in Rafah

Meanwhile, the IDF appears to be targeting Hamas’s leadership in Rafah, eliminating a senior commander of its operations unit based in Rafah.

An “IDF aircraft precisely targeted and eliminated a terrorist in Hamas’ Operations Unit in the area of Rafah, Muhammad Abu Hasna,” the Israeli military said in a statement on Wednesday. “Hasna was a combat support operative in Hamas’ military wing. He was also involved in taking control of humanitarian aid and distributing it to Hamas terrorists.”

The slain terrorist “coordinated the activities of various Hamas units, as well as communicated with and activated Hamas field operatives. Hasna was also responsible for an intelligence operations room which provides information on IDF positions for use in Hamas attacks,” the military revealed.

His elimination will disrupt the terrorist group’s fighting capabilities in Rafah. “His precise targeting significantly damages the operational capabilities of various Hamas units in Rafah,” the IDF statement conducted.

Hamas executes Gaza clan chief who ‘worked with Israel’

With the IDF tightening the noose around Hamas, the terrorist group is waging a deadly campaign against Gazans willing to cooperate with Israel to mitigate the suffering of civilians and create a post-war administration.

Hamas executed a clan leader and members of his family for the crime of ‘working with Israel,’ media reports say. “Hamas executed on Thursday the leader of the Doghmush clan in northern Gaza after reports alleged Israel contacted the clan leader in an attempt to get his family to oversee the distribution of aid in the Strip. The Doghmush clan holds influence and is well-armed, situated in northern Gaza where many of its members live,” the Israeli news website YNET reported.

If only we had a leader as committed to the good of American citizens as Israel has for their welfare.

This. I’m so glad Bibi has the concentration to entirely tune out the old man yelling at the clouds.

You just know the Democrats wish they could Impeach this guy. They want it so bad they can taste it.

Soon Trump. Just wait until all of Hamas draws the Jahannam card, pasts all those virgins and go to Jahannam (Hell).

When he’s done perhaps they can come to DC and put down the coup perps

Of for Pete’s sake, if you’re going to enter Rafah just quit with the talk and do it already. And do it now before that doddering ol’ fool in the White House attempts to come up with yet another plan to support Hamas.

    Yeah. Kraken stories are boring.

Demonstrates serious intent. Were Israel just reacting, they would just go. At least these gains in the meanwhile:

    — Lets civilians inclined to exit (and allowed to by Hamas) do so.

    — Flushes out opponents not yet seen. Chuck-y, for example, was pronouncing as he does, but well within the weasel zone until his latest. Similar physically: people get spotted stashing supplies and preparing positions.

    — We mere mortals take some time and effort for intelligence, movement, and logistics. The thought is not the act for us.

The time itself is a PR op. The Usual Suspects are suppressing the hundred-plus hostages, still. BUT, when they ask “Why do you have to go in?”, they’re stuck with the response about the hundred-plus hostages. Last I knew Hamas was still launching rockets, not at the assaulting IDF, but into civilian living areas, as per usual. “Why do you have to go in?” The rockets at Kibbutz haven’t stopped.

Good. Screw Biden. Let Israel take care of their own business as they see fit.

F88k I love these Jews with balls! 🏋️😂😂

Good. Kick Biden, Schumer and the other feckless Progressives that would sell out an Ally for a few votes right in balls with steel toed boots.

Bibi is what a leader looks like when his Nation is at stake. Brandon looks like one who is doing everything in his power to destroy his.

Discovering the tunnel network crossings at Rafah between Egypt and Gaza – that seems like the true prize here.

The tunnel exits Egypt-side will expose the warehouse – stockpile points and hopefully the duplicitous actors involved in the trafficking of war materiel.

I think that’s what the international bad actors fear most – exposure.

I’m so old (born in 1977), I can remember when Dhimmi-crats generally opposed genocidal Muslim terrorists and Islamic “holy war,” rather than giving succor, sustenance and moral cover/legitimacy to such evil and totalitarian scum, and, their wretched, Islamofascist ideology of hate.

Also, I’m so old, I can recall when a U.S. president (of either party) would do everything in his power to rescue American hostages. Vile Biden plainly doesn’t give a damn about the American citizens murdered, raped, tortured and kidnapped by the evil Hamas thugs.

Our feckless Big Brains have ditched the distinction between kinetic and non-kinetic provocations. Hostages taken and abuse just have a spot price to level the scales.

      This pseudo-sophistication doesn’t help.

      Not only Americans in Israel..
      How about Afghanistan
Have we gotten everyone out from there..

I am old enough to remember when Disney in cartoons and movies always made Arabs evil.

I also watched kids shows where white and black kids did stupid kid stuff. It was not raciest. I think all that stuff just disappeared.

The only thing missing from Netanyahu’s speech is that he should have emulated Schumer and called on the American people to throw Biden out of office and vote for Trump,

What makes me laugh is that because Democrats have an election to steal they are doing everything possible to appease their Muslim voters.

What’s doubly funny is that the longer Hamas’s war in Gaza continues the more disillusioned Muslims become with Democrats and decide to stay home on election day 😂😂

If Hamas is now whacking its own people, that tells me it’s entering “Downfall-Bring-Me-Fegelein!” mode.

ugottabekiddinme | March 14, 2024 at 9:38 pm

Totally admire Bibi and his unity government’s determination to finish the job.

Totally condemn the execrable Sen. Schumer (D-NY) for his call (talk about chutzpah) that Israelis should vote Bibi out of office because he is an obstacle to “peace.”

When it comes to dealing with the monsters of Hamas, there are much worse things than “peace,”

Chuck, you moron; have you no decency, sir?

Subotai Bahadur in reply to ugottabekiddinme. | March 16, 2024 at 5:39 pm

In point of fact, no he has no decency. Nor do any Leftists. It is what it is and needs to be accepted for what it is.

    Subotai Bahadur

Imagine the Battle of the Bulge has just ended, and some authority tells the Western Allies, “You must end the full war offensive and limit your operations to removal of the Reich’s high-level political and military leadership.”

How well will this go over with FDR, Churchill, Eisenhower, or Montgomery?

The Duke d’Escargot in reply to DaveGinOly. | March 16, 2024 at 8:15 am

Well I’m fact there’s was such a movement … to get to a signed permanent armistice.

It was a year or two before the Battle of the Bulge , and in order to preempt the growth of that movement FDR and Churchill ?and others? met at Casablanca I believe and signed an agreement delineating that hostilities would cease only when there was Unconditional Surrender.

My understanding is that they did not want a repeat of the Armistice that ostensibly ended WWI — but turned out to just a 20-year truce of sorts.

They have also taken nearly a hundred or so surviving hostages

Are they sure that these hostages are still alive? Do they have proof of life on all of them?

When you’re done with Rafah, could you please consider entering DC?

Good for Netanyahu!
Biden is worse than a fool.

You have to give these hamazniks credit:

When you kill them, it’s your fault.
When they kill you, it’s your fault.
When they rape you, you’re bad.
When you do not rape them, you’re bad.

And they get the useful idiots to parrot their stuff.

And no one says boo

It’s a heck of a trick to have pulled this off — not gonna lie, I don’t see this one coming

🤷‍♂️

From the ’73 war, Israel concluded it had to make its own tanks and APCs. From this war it should conclude that it has to make its own small arms and ammunition.
