Anti-Israel Protesters Shut Down California State Assembly Session in Sacramento

Anti-Israel Protesters Shut Down California State Assembly Session in Sacramento

Insurrection? I am looking forward to the arrests, show trials, harsh penalties, and condemnation by Biden.

Biden’s Valley Forge address, which kicked off his 2024 presidential campaign, included insults and smears of former President Donald Trump and Trump voters . . . with many hyperbolic references to the January 6th “insurrection.”

Applying the new definitions being used by Team Biden, I would argue that the work of the California Assembly was halted by a group of insurrectionists earlier this week.

On the day California lawmakers returned to Sacramento for the new year, hundreds of protesters convened at the state Capitol on Wednesday and shut down the Assembly with calls for Israel to stop its war against Hamas.

Legislators filed out of the Assembly chamber as at least 250 demonstrators chanted, “Cease fire now.” Filling the Capitol rotunda, protesters unfurled a banner stating “No U.S. Funding for Israel’s Genocide in Palestine” and made paper flowers representing more than 22,000 Palestinians killed in the war that began after Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 7, killing about 1,200 people and taking 240 others hostage.

“We hear them, we support them, however we have to make sure that the legislative business is done for the entire state of California,” Assemblyman Mike Gipson (D-Carson) said as the demonstrators’ chants echoed throughout the halls.

“This just stopped what we needed to do,” he said.

Now I have to chuckle at the description of the protesters, as the media endeavors to shape the narrative about who was protesting. Demonstrators cannot be labelled as “Pro-Hamas”, “Pro-Palestine” or “Anti-Israel” in the wake of the atrocities of October 7th. I guess “Pro-Ceasefire” is the next best choice.

They milled around the state Rotunda, similar to what the J6 protesters did.

Dozens of protesters remained after the Assembly shut off the lights, and stayed chanting after reporters, staffers and lawmakers were cleared from the chamber. Outside, more than 100 protesters filled the Capitol rotunda, where they spread a large banner over the ground mourning people killed in Gaza. Protesters kneeled in concentric circles around the banner, folding black and red poppies out of tissue paper to symbolize lives lost.

Hundreds of people had planned to participate in the demonstrations, and had planned for “mass arrests,” said Jewish Voice for Peace spokesperson Liv Kunins-Berkowitz. Several hours into the protest, no one had been arrested, she said.

I am looking forward to the arrests, show trials, harsh penalties, and condemnation by Biden.

But I am mindful of the fact I must adjust my expectations due to the fact the Biden is the figurehead for the most irony-rich presidency in history.

However, for Trump supporters, there may be an upside.

The Sacramento protesters seem far more organized and less grass roots than those at the J6 demonstrations.

It appears certain Assembly members were targeted for harassment.

I anticipate more of these demonstrations in the months leading up to the general election, especially given how organized this action was. The subject may vary, but the tactics will not.

So they’re all going in the hole for a few years, with their Constitutional rights suspended?

Did any of them get shot in the neck by the Keystone Cops?

Will the FBI be knocking down their doors in the middle of the night?

Is your ammo dry?

Will the feds look at all passengers flying into Sacramento? Will they demand all phone records from the telecoms? Of course you’d have to pull the feds from their Catholic Church monitoring to do this.

While they’re at it, they should create the criminal enhancement of sanctimony.

Somebody tell these fools that CA doesn’t have its own foreign policy.

Having said that, most of the lefties in Sac are socialist groomers, like scott wiener, and deserve to be abused.

Though I don’t agree with these cretins about anything else, I’d be in favor of their shutting it down permanently. The enemy of my enemy is my friend?

Just follow Scott Adams’s suggestion of celebrating January 6th as National Hoax Day. There’s no need to try to get mileage out of hypocrisy or double standard charges, Life is hypocrisy and double standards.

Gee, it’s a bit** when reality bites back. This was clearly an insurrection according to Democrat standards. And they will get away with it. Because they’re Democrats and not fearsome MAGA supporters.

And let us not forget that these cretins are supporting psychopathic savages who decapitated babies and murdered women as they raped them. Yeah. The creme de la creme of California youth. Where is the St. Andreas Fault when you need it???

Insurrection is opposition to the regime in power. The Left is in power both nationally and definitely in California. The demonstration was a Leftist group basically in support of the regime. Leftists cannot be charged with insurrection against Leftists in power unless it is a Trotsky-ite versus Stalin-ist situation. No one was charged with crimes against the State in this. I’m pretty sure that the California legislature [regardless of purported party] applauded throughout the demonstration.

So, MAGA suppoirters are always insurrectionists and Democrats never are, no matter what either might do. Got it. Are you in the FBI by any chance?

By no means. I wrote to cynically address the hypocracy that is today’s reality.

Nah. Think of it as a home v away game with referees biased towards the home team. That’s where this dangerous path ends up. ‘Blue ideological’ protesters acting up in Blue jurisdictions isn’t unusual b/c they don’t fear any real consequences while that can’t be said for them choosing to do so in ‘Red jurisdictions’ as the away team.

That’s how it works elsewhere. That’s not how it’s supposed to work here.

If the purpose of a body of people is the restoration of constitutional principles, the preservation of the Republic, and support for a government that respects the law, then that body is not involved in an insurrection and nothing it does is seditious. In this country, sedition and insurrection are not acts against an individual, those in power, or a particular political party. An insurrection or rebellion is an act against lawful government and in opposition to rule by the Constitution.

I demand Israel just use their atomic bombs to take out iran, gaza and yemen for the good of the world.

The legislators and demonstrators…. fellow travelers playfully jostling each other. The legislators, on another day, will send them out into the streets to do their bidding when the time comes.

Playfully jostling? I have my doubts. I strongly suspect that this is a leftist splinter faction that doesn’t get the memos that the rest of the left factions get, or doesn’t care about them. These people are Antifa brownshirts, but with a chain of command that doesn’t include the DNC or the FBI. Just look at today’s articles, and those of the past few days. They shut down the blue California legislature, I-5 in blue Seattle, JFK in blue NYC, LAX in blue LA… It’s like a pandemic of Pali-pox erupting in vast enclaves of Democrats who indulged themselves in Unsafe Elections.

Biden: “political violence is never ever acceptable in the United States political system. Never, never, never. It has no place in a democracy. None. You can’t be pro-insurrectionist and pro-American.”

MAGA Republican President: “Our safety, our liberty depends on preserving the Constitution of the United States as our fathers made it inviolate. The people of the US are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts — not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow men who pervert the Constitution.” — Honest Abe

Oops, a good quote from Abe, but an incomplete prescription without this second one:

“Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable, a most sacred right — a right which we hope and believe is to liberate the world. Nor is this right confined to cases in which the whole people of an existing government may choose to exercise it. Any portion of such people, that can, may revolutionize, and make their own of so much of the territory as they inhabit.”
    –ABRAHAM LINCOLN

(A highly ironic, and therefore suspicious quote, from a man who waged war on a Confederacy that precisely followed his instructions? Verification here.)

Leslie Eastman: I would argue that the work of the California Assembly was halted by a group of insurrectionists earlier this week.

The protesters entered the public gallery of the California Assembly lawfully. That is not what happened on J6 where rioters attacked police and broke their way into the U.S. Capitol in an explicit attempt to prevent the peaceful transfer of power to a new president.

Isn’t interrupting a California legislature session a good thing?

BierceAmbrose | January 7, 2024 at 6:04 pm

Again, I’m torn.

Ho about the Insurrection-y protest-bots can shut down the Cali assembly any time they want, on any issue? They don’t even have to clean up after themselves — give the legislature something to do after.
