Like a Boss: Ron DeSantis Wipes the Floor With Gavin Newsom in Red State v. Blue State Debate

Like a Boss: Ron DeSantis Wipes the Floor With Gavin Newsom in Red State v. Blue State Debate

DeSantis was a youthful, energetic, and articulate powerhouse who kept winning on every point. And every single point DeSantis made was about America First in the truest sense of the philosophy.

It’s no secret that as a Free Floridian, I am a big fan of my governor. He kept our state and Floridians free when blue states were enacting shocking tyranny on their own people. As a Free Floridian, living in Ron DeSantis’ Florida, I didn’t experience the covid pandemic as others did in other states, so while on the one hand, I didn’t experience lockdowns and draconian crazy, I did, on the other hand, live in a state that didn’t punish its citizens under a one-size-fits-all federal government-prescribed dystopian nightmare. Because and only because Ron DeSantis refused to comply with the Trump White House.

What was coming out of the White House, inclusive of Fauci and Birx and Trump’s deference to them in the face of clear data stating otherwise, was utterly nonsensical and detrimental on numerous levels (as our very own Leslie consistently noted), yet these bizarre prescriptions were enthusiastically embraced by some of the worst covid tyrants.

You can’t have ten people in your home, but you can go out and “protest” in mobs of hundreds and thousands. This makes sense how? You can’t eat out in restaurants . . . unless you are Gavin Newsom. You can’t go boating, unless you are Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

Oddly, none of their cheerleaders even wondered why they weren’t afraid to eat out or boat. Untouchable. Covid doesn’t affect tyrants? Or mobs of protesters, burners, looters, and murderers? Makes no sense. Never did. Never will. We didn’t see this in Florida. At all.

And of course, the Red State vs. Blue State debate between Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and California Governor Gavin Newsom plays into this differing approach not only to the covid thing but also to basic ideologies that have divided our nation.

Newsom, looking old and frail, didn’t answer questions and lied through his teeth every time he opened his mouth (surprisingly, to great cheers from Team Trump supporters who appear to have been on the tyrannical Gruesome Newsom’s side, which strikes me as . . . odd.). Meanwhile, DeSantis wiped the floor with Newsom.

Here are some highlights:

Needless to say, people have thoughts.

Watch the whole debate here:

Ultimately, to me, Newsom looked and sounded old and frail, while DeSantis was a youthful, energetic, and articulate powerhouse who kept winning on every point. And every single point DeSantis made was about America First in the truest sense of the philosophy.

Meanwhile, fake “America First” Trumpers rallied for . . . Gruesome Newsom, while celebrating the coveted Black Lives Matters endorsement of Trump.

Let that sink in.

I tried watching that “debate”. It could have been really good – an actual discussion of the differences between the ideas and plicies of the left and right. Instead, it was awful. Completely unwatchable. Newsom did nothing but just spew inane lies and talk over DeSantis. Newsom did not address any actual questions (which seems to be standard procedure for all leftists in public discussions, these days). It was a complete waste of time. Newsom did not even try to engage in any sort of a serious exchange.

It could have been really interesting but, instead, the “debate” was a big flop and a waste of time. DeSantis did okay, but what can you do with someone who stands there and keeps repeating that the moon is made of green cheese and won’t answer anything seriously?

You just can’t help yourself, can you?

Sheesh.

Newscum seized “emergency powers” during pandemic. He is dictator.

Newsome wouldn’t answer and his facial expressions were oddly inappropriate ALL THE TIME.

He was smiling about dead Americans, about kids not learning, about abortions, you name it…. Very strange behavior.

It was all a big joke to him.

DeSantis was very good, as usual.

DeSantis, maybe ready in 2032 or more likely 2036 🙂

Tucker as VP and then President in 2028 🙂

Well, I suppose that’s not much stupider than a lot of the really, really stupid fantasies floating around out there.

Nailed it, tx. We should just continue down your path. We have 30 years of failure as proof.

Wishful thinking, we have had enough of career politicians. For decades I thought we needed time out of the pros.

DeSantis might have had a shot as VP with Trump, followed by a shot as President, but he screwed the pooch.

If Trump runs with Tucker and they win, DeSantis will likely be sidelined until 2036.

I have worked a lot with some of the sharpest people in the country. Tucker impresses me. He is a very sharp cookie, and he is not a career political hack like DeSantis.

I like what DeSantis is doing in Florida, but he is not in the same class as Trump, Carlson, Musk, not even close.

DeSantis/Tulsi. 2 military vets, two plain spoken people who you might disagree with (Tulsi I disagree with on a number of things) but you never have to wonder where they are on an issue, just ask them. I’ll take that over lying despots like Newsome any day.

Nah, DeSantis ruined his political career by letting NeverTrumpers whisper in his ear to take on Trump in 2024. And now he is paying for it.

Victor Davis Hanson: Newsom’s glossy veneer is thin and soft, an aristocratic rich boy never once publicly challenged by a fit opponent. His whole political career rests on a media erected scaffolding of deceit. He’s a facile, bourgeois-socialist Ken Doll.

The debate clips are a rare look at Gavin getting pantsed.

And here’s the thing: None of that will damage Newsome in the slightest. CA had the chance to throw him out in 2022, bit they kept him. And nationally, if he runs, Leftists will line up behind him.

Governor DeSantis showed the world emperor newsom is in fact, not wearing any clothes. newsom is a narcissistic, abusive serial liar. Whether by design or pure, malevolent incompetence, newsom has done incalculable damage to SF and CA. I’m thankful Governor DeSantis had the opportunity to debate the fraud newsom.

Hey, in San Francisco clothing is optional 🙂

Wr all knew this about Newsome before this debate even started. There was a recall election in 2022 and CA kept him. What, exactly, did this debate accomplish?

newsom rarely gets challenged, so no, “We all knew this about newsom” is not true. Adam Corolla challenged him regarding certain minority voters being unable to obtain (voter) ID, when other minorities not only obtain ID’s but (implied) those other minorities are highly successful in the American free market capitalist system. All he was asking newsom was “Why?” It exposed newsom as the shallow bigot of low expectations he is. Why do you think nesome did not want a live studio audience for the debate? The boos against newsom would have been ruthless and relentless. He’s been protected by the press in this way for his entire career.

Problem is America first doesn’t resonate with radical far left fascist democrats.
They hate America and want her to fail until it’s all as bad as cali.

Good for DeSantis.

We got a preview of what to expect, should the vile and greasy Newsolini ever reside in the White House. Just another utterly mendacious, duplicitous, self-serving, lawless and corrosive Dhimmi-crat.

I thought that DeSantis missed an opportunity when Newsom ranted about a list of climate change weather “facts”. DeSantis, being very familiar with Hurricanes, should have cleaned his clock.

I thought that Gavin Newsom came across as a cool character. But he rarely answered a question. Newsom did correctly point out that neither was going to be the candidate for President in 2024.

In terms of substance, it was DeSantis by a mile.

In terms of style, Newsom and his lying, glib tongue looked credible, if not appealing.

So . . . who do you think the Low Information Voters would vote for?

ThePrimordialOrderedPair | December 2, 2023 at 3:38 am

Although it was all pretty unwatchable, in general, this was my favorite part of the so-called debate:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohDB5gbtaEQ&t=65s

That about summed it up.

I did not watch it however, I heard numerous clips on different radio shows with both speaking. It seemed to me that DeSantis was straight forward and answered clearly while Newsome talked around subjects, interrupted and tried to talk over DeSantis. Newsome didn’t like to actually answer anything and often ignored the question entirely to attack DeSantis and often his attacks were not factual.

It was not a good look for Newsome but the debate would always have been hard for him as defending his record in Cali is near impossible. From what I heard DeSantis came out on top.

E Howard Hunt | December 2, 2023 at 7:57 am

I watched the debate with the television on mute, concentrating wholly on each man’s hair. DeSantis still won.

Sacrilege. Gov Hair Gel is widely recognized as the best hair to come out of California since Reagan. Unlike Reagan, Hair Gel has only his golden locks to point to, there is little underneath.

Newsom really belongs in a used car lot, selling discarded EVs.

This governor Gavin Newsom
He truly is something quite gruesome!
He sticks common folk fools
With stiff pandemic rules,
And breaks them himself; not a few-some!

As for “banning books”:

Hollywood has ratings for movies…. G, PG-13, No one under 17 admitted without adult, X, XX, XXX. Yet the same adult required “ratings” would describe the books he wants in grade schools without supervision.

Parents want age appropriate books available.

A debate that was a fart in the wind and did nothing to help out DeSantis. And don’t tell me about this debate being important to show the difference between conservatism and leftism, most people can see that with their own eyes.

If you mop the floor with Gavin Newsom does it create a grease slick?
