Europe-Wide Hamas Terror Network Busted for Plotting Attacks on Jews

Nearly a week after terror group Hamas threatened the United States and Western countries with attacks on their soil, the police in Europe have arrested Hamas terrorists for planning coordinated attacks on Jewish institutions.

Several Hamas-linked terrorists were arrested in a series of raids in Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands, the European media reported Thursday.

The arrested terrorists were identified as the members of the Gaza-based Islamist group. “German prosecutors said four suspects were Hamas members,” the BBC reported. “Three members of Hamas, which runs Gaza but is a banned terrorist group across Europe, were arrested in Berlin and one in the Netherlands, [German prosecutors] said in a statement.”

Similar arrests were also reported in neighboring Denmark. “Three people were arrested in Denmark … on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack, Danish police said on Thursday, adding the moves followed a coordinated cross-border police effort,” Reuters reported.

Israel’s Hebrew language media also confirmed the affiliation of arrested terrorists in Europe to Hamas, citing Mossad sources. The Europe-based terrorist network was reportedly busted with assistance from the Israeli security agency Shin Bet:

The German public broadcaster DW TV reported:

Four members of the militant Islamist group Hamas were arrested in Berlin and the Netherlands, German public prosecutors said on Thursday.Prosecutors said they were detained on suspicion of planning attacks on Jewish institutions in Europe. The men were said to be known members of Hamas with close links to the organization’s military branch, one with Dutch nationality, two born in Lebanon and another with Egyptian citizenship.”Following the terrible attacks by Hamas on the Israeli population, attacks on Jews in Jewish institutions have also increased in our country in recent weeks,” German Justice Minister Marco Buschmann said after the arrests.”We must therefore do everything we can to ensure that Jews in our country do not have to fear for their safety again,” he said.Hamas is listed as a terrorist organization by Germany, Israel, the US, the EU and other governments.Earlier on Thursday, Danish police said they prevented a terror attack and arrested four people. Three suspects were arrested in Denmark, and a fourth was arrested in the Netherlands.

The European terror network was busted days after a top Hamas operative threatened the United States, Britain, and other Western countries with jihad attacks.

Speaking on Gaza-based Al-Aqsa TV, the head of Hamas’s international wing, Sami Abu Zuhri, vowed to unleash “violent acts” against the U.S. and its allies in a bid to “pressure the Americans to stop this war.”

“Now it is our nation’s turn to pressure the Americans to stop this war. We need violent acts against American and British interests everywhere, as well as the interests of all the countries that support the occupation,” Abu Zuhri said in a televised massage, according to a translation published by the DC-based media watchdog Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). “They must pay a price so that they know that Gaza is not alone, and that when they gave the order to kill, they should have been prepared to pay the necessary price,” the senior Hamas operative added.

The MEMRI reported Wednesday:

Sami Abu Zuhri, head of the political department of Hamas abroad called on a December 5, 2023 show on Al-Aqsa TV (Hamas-Gaza) for acts of violence against worldwide interests of America, Britian, and other countries that support Israel. He said that Blinken is “the enemy” just like Netanyahu, and he will pay the price, just like Netanyahu. Abu Zuhri added that that the Americans and British must pay a price for the blood of the women and children in Gaza, and they must know that Gaza is not alone.

The busted Hamas terror cell is merely the tip of a growing iceberg as Europe opens its borders to mass-migration from Muslim-majority North Africa and the Middle East.

According to the annual report of Germany’s domestic intelligence agency (BfV) issued in July 2023, the country is home to an estimated 450 Hamas and 1,250 Hezbollah operatives. This is apart from tens of thousands of jihad-terror sympathizers and promoters across Germany, the spy service disclosed. With a demographic shift triggered by waves of illegal immigration, a surge in support for jihad terror is being witnessed all across Western Europe.
