Democrat Student Leader at Princeton Wants to Exclude Conservatives From Campus Eating Club
“I don’t want bigots in my eating club”
Apparently, all that talk about diversity and inclusion doesn’t apply to conservatives, but you knew that.
The College Fix reports:
Princeton College Dem leader: Don’t allow conservatives in eating club
A student Democrat leader at Princeton University said he would exclude conservative students from a prestigious eating club because they are “bigots” who “make trans people feel uncomfortable” in an interview Thursday in the student newspaper.
Nate Howard, president of the Princeton College Democrats, told The Daily Princetonian that there is a stigma against Republicans on the Ivy League campus, and he himself does not want them to become members of another club he belongs to, the Princeton Tower Club.
The exclusive eating club chooses members through a process called bicker, which typically includes competitions and interviews, and Howard said he advocates for excluding conservative students.
“I’m in Tower; when we do bicker, like, no, I don’t want bigots in my eating club,” Howard told the Princetonian. “And like, they may say, ‘oh, conservative views are marginalized,’ but like, which views, let’s unpack it, right? I don’t want people in my eating club that will make trans people feel uncomfortable.”
Howard also said he disagrees with the perception that conservative students at Ivy League schools “are special, distinct, and extremely intelligent and thoughtful.”
Negative attitudes toward conservatives extend beyond Princeton.
Often, conservative student leaders report being excluded or denied the resources that other clubs enjoy, and some have been targets of vandalism and threats. In 2015, for example, UNC-Chapel Hill did not invite any conservative clubs to a discussion with student organizations about the future of the university, The College Fix reported at the time.

The only bigot is Nate Howard, president of the Princeton College Democrats,
The only bigot mentioned in the story you mean. Really he’s just the top of the iceberg.
“Muh Eating Club”
Sounds very Marie Antoinette.
“exclude conservative students from a prestigious eating club because they are “bigots” who “make trans people feel uncomfortable”
So exactly what’s on the menu?
So nate howard wants the princeton college eating club to be the gay trans hook up club??
We get it.
There is not one “princeton college eating club”. The university has many eating clubs, and he wants trans people to be comfortable in the one he happens to have joined, by not having to confront anyone who has a different opinion. That’s OK, it’s a private club, and if the majority of existing members agree with him they’re free to exclude anyone they all don’t like. There’s no reason they should have to face dissenting views in their own club. There are plenty of other eating clubs that conservatives can join, and they can always start a new one.
“Separate but equal”? Been there, done that. It didn’t work out well.
It worked out extremely well… unless it was run by the government.
Tsk, tsk, tsk, Uncle Sam..
See all you ho-dads at the Dexter Lake Club.
The whole thing has a very Harry Potter vibe to it.
Employers should take note of Nate. He’s a lawsuit waiting to happen
Eating clubs at Princeton
““I don’t want bigots in my eating club””
HIS Eating Club?
And, Nate Howard, your great uncle Mo would call you an imbecile.
Yes, his eating club. The eating club of which he is a member. That’s what the phrase means, in plain ordinary English.
Sheldon cooper is on the spectrum?
MSN carried an article on Nate Howard and his mother, who is a prof at Princeton, althoughj the article focused on Junior Nate and his interest in politics. Nate was very public in his recent condemnation of Conservatives., I would guess in an effort to polish his reputation as a leftist with all the right credentials. I guess if private Princeton clubs want to exclude conservatives thenConservatives form their own “eating club” escluding leftists.

Tuition alone for one year of undergrad at that institute of “higher learning” is $60,000.
That is a lot of money to pay each year to become more stupid than at the beginning of that year.
