CNN’s Dana Bash Stops Rep. Jayapal When She Tries to ‘But Israel’ When Pushed to Condemn Hamas Raping Israeli Women

“However, I think we have to be balanced about bringing in the outrages against Palestinians.”

The left has angrily greeted Squad member Rep. Pramila Jayapal’s CNN interview, where she tried to brush aside Hamas raping Israeli women and concentrate on supposed Israeli war crimes. Even CNN’s Dana Bash, who interviewed Jayapal, couldn’t contain the disgust on her face.

Jayapal, in true Squad fashion, tried to “but Israel” when Bash attempted to get her to condemn the rape of Israeli women by Hamas:

BASH: “With — okay, with respect, I was just asking about the women, and you turned it back to Israel. I’m asking you about Hamas. In fact — ”
JAYAPAL: “I already answered your question, Dana. I said it’s horrific.”
BASH: “Okay.”
JAYAPAL: “And I think that rape is horrific. Sexual assault is horrific. I think that it happens in war situations. Terrorist organizations like Hamas, obviously, are using these as tools. However, I think we have to be balanced about bringing in the outrages against Palestinians. 15,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes, three-quarters of whom are women and children.”
BASH: “And it’s horrible, but you don’t see Israeli soldiers raping Palestinian women.”
JAYAPAL: “Well, Dana, I think we’re not — we’re not — I don’t want this to be the hierarchy of oppressions.”

Disgusting behavior.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s daughter fumed against Jayapal. She reminded people you couldn’t push a “both sides” argument in this case.

On Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough lost his mind over Jayapal trying to equate Hamas raping women and Israel:

What’s remarkable is that you have many people, international organizations on the left, that just can’t condemn Hamas raping and abusing and raping kids to the point in jail. It did and then parading. Yeah, but there was never it wasn’t. We can condemn Hamas. It always has to be. There’s always moral equivocation. And this is what you’re talking about before, Elise. There’s always moral equivocation. You can never say that what Hamas did, the Jewish women was absolutely savage and beyond the pale. It always has to be. ‘Yeah, but Israel.’

Others lashed out at Jayapal.

She said she was against rape. So that’s off the failure to empathize outrage table.

“Rape is rape” is not a tautology, by the way. The first is taken broadly and the second narrowly. “What happened here deserves the same condemnation as actual rape.” Say it was meant to humiliate the husbands, as is traditional in (pre-Geneva) war. Consider it as meant to humiliate the women instead.

“She said she was against rape. So that’s off the failure to empathize outrage table.”

Oh, okay. Jayapal’s comments were entirely sane and respectable, then.

Nothing to see here; RH says “Move along, fake outragers.”

The question of rape should be addressed to a woman who would actually view rape as a threat. Jayapal is very safe from being concerned about anyone raping her.

“Jayapal is very safe from being concerned about anyone raping her.”

She does have that Pale inbred look about her, and she is ugly as sin.

Now, if she was not also ugly inside, I would not comment about her in this way.

Jayapal said of course she was against rape… but move forward and get off this subject because it makes her uncomfortable when there are other Hamas talking points to bring up. We don’t want to talk about Hamas brutality when we can blame Israel for Palestinians who die in service to Hamas as human shields!

Terrorists literally put their penises into women’s vaginas, against their will, and entirely because they were Jewish. And they then murdered them in front of their children. What definition of “rape” are you looking for, you antisemite?

Jayapal, dishonest and shameful. Pretends to have empathy for all, but it hardly masks the hatred of the oppressors, in this case Jews. The perfect example of today’s privileged Democrat.

Pramila Jayapal, with the squad, is a documented racist who blames all her problems in life on white people.

Toxic woke trash dumpster fire.

I don’t want this to be the hierarchy of oppressions.

That’s rich. The Left is ALL ABOUT victimhood and “hierarchy of oppressions.”

Rather than condemnation they always bring up balance and/or equivocation, to dance around honesty.

Rape “happens in war situations.” True enough, but when has it ever before been intentionally used by a combatant as an integral part of an operational plan? Has a blind eye been turned to it? Yes. Has it been permitted, even encouraged? Yes. But has it ever before been part of an operational plan? I’m coming up empty here. The October 7 Hamas attack may be unique in history, almost certainly unique in modern (say, post-Renaissance) history.

rhhardin in reply to DaveGinOly. | December 4, 2023 at 12:24 pm

I think the Bosnian war was an example, soldiers move in and rape all the women and to humiliate the husbands. Everybody just goes on with life after that, as if the rapes were not real rapes.

mailman in reply to DaveGinOly. | December 4, 2023 at 12:37 pm

You’ll be surprised how prevalent using tape as a weapon is today and in the past.

alaskabob in reply to DaveGinOly. | December 4, 2023 at 6:09 pm

The spoils of war for Islam included sex slaves as permitted by Islam’s “holy” books. So it is a normal planned part of operational outcome. I would add the Soviet campaign in Germany… planned retribution for all injustices by the Germans.

What a wretched woman.

Where are they getting these Gaza casualty figures? From the trustworthy Hamas Ministry of Health? Multiple grains of salt required.

Another Voice in reply to Concise. | December 4, 2023 at 3:15 pm

My understanding Hamas leaders are reporting deaths by pulling in the number of active ‘military’ combatants who have died….not just those who were prevented from leaving a designated and informed attack zone.

Dolce Far Niente | December 4, 2023 at 12:54 pm

The unspoken but perfectly clear subtext to all these Muslim apologists is

“Any act committed against Jews is justified.”

Slogans about Free Palestine, From the River To the Sea, genocide, apartheid are all the same message; kill the Jews.

Make no mistake, and don’t pretend Christians (which means white people) are exempt from mohammedan hatred.

What this hag is is a perfect example of a Muslim. They will tell you the truth about anything until they are trapped and then that’s not what they meant. She has already been condemned for saying, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”, a genocide slogan. She pretended that she did not mean genocide but was caught up in the chant. At the very least she should be censored and the best, kicked out of Congress like Santos. He lied about things that didn’t harm anyone and she made statements that asked for genocide of an entire country! Imagine if this was a Ku Klux Klan member saying that same thing about blacks!

“I don’t want this to be the hierarchy of oppressions“

Yet she uses inflated Palestinian casualty figures to do just that.

Timothy Snyder used a phrase akin to “victim imperialism,” to describe nations and peoples inflating WWII casualty figures in a spiraling competition to be the premiere victims.

MarkS in reply to Tiki. | December 4, 2023 at 2:14 pm

Is there an available list off the hierarchy of oppression?

henrybowman in reply to MarkS. | December 4, 2023 at 4:52 pm

It’s not a list, spreadsheet, or matrix.
It’s more of an n-dimensional tensor.
And it’s highly unstable, because Democrats keep redefining the eigenvalues to whatever gives them the results they want in each particular case.

Real American | December 4, 2023 at 1:13 pm

in other words, Israel just needs to let it go because otherwise terrorists, their supporters, and the sick, evil death cultists who voted them into power might get killed.

The mere fact that we have the need to ask if Hamas’ actions should be condemned speaks volumes.

2smartforlibs | December 4, 2023 at 1:55 pm

Pretty hard for her to see past the racist blinders.

CaliforniaJimbo | December 4, 2023 at 1:57 pm

Jaypal is an idiot and a vile person. Rape must never be condoned. It is not a “but Israel” argument. What a disgusting person.

The right argument against her is that Israel has given Gaza every help it can, and each one it has tried has been sabotaged and stopped by Hamas.

Something Gaza hasn’t done for Israel.

That’s the ruling asymmetry, not the death count.

The vile Dhimmi-crats are always uncomfortable and ill at ease when confronted with genocidal murders and atrocities committed by Muslim supremacists, terrorists and Islamofascists, because those evil acts and behavior undermine the Dhimmi-crats’ reflexive and perennial penchant for painting all Muslims as alleged victims.

Dhimmi-crats always contend — contemptibly — that Muslim terrorism and atrocities are the product of alleged transgressions committed against perpetually aggrieved Muslims by Jews, Christians, Hindus, and other non-Muslims.

She’d have a point if Israel just indiscriminately bombed Gaza before 10/7, or made “rape runs” into Gaza, but they didn’t, so she doesn’t.

Hamas asked for this, and the Israelis gave it to them, good and hard. Israel should pound them until the hostages are safely returned, and not a second before that. Gaza deaths are the complete responsibility of the Hamas cowards, using civilians and protected sites as shields for their insanity.

“Heirarchy of oppressions” isn’t the point.

Good people doing their best to fight a war responsibly can kill civilians as collateral damage to a legitimate military objective.

Good people don’t accidentally rape woman and kidnap children.

R0ape us bad. Unless, Biden

There is literally no war crime. Everything is ok

“And I think that rape is horrific. Sexual assault is horrific. I think that it happens in war situations.

Then explain why it never happens with the IDF. Why is it that in the IDF’s entire 75-year history there have been no cases of a soldier raping an enemy civilian. There have been plenty of sexual assaults and worse within the IDF’s ranks; but no rapes by soldiers of enemy civilians, which is what “happens in war situations”.

In 2016:an Israeli Brigadier was convinctd of sexual violence. I can’t link to it but search on the terms handling sexual violence in the Israeli military.

Charge stacking? Maybe. He was reduced in rank to light colonel as part of his plea deal. Which tells me they didn’t have an iron clad case.

Bottom line, Milhouse, it’s on you to persuade me this nation committing suicide playing nice with Hamas commits war crimes

Milhouse in reply to Arminius. | December 5, 2023 at 3:46 am

You are referring to the case of Brigadier General Ofek Buchris, who pleaded guilty to having a consensual affair with a subordinate and was demoted to Lieutenant Colonel. The subordinate had accused him of rape, which he denied. But even if her charge was true, this is completely irrelevant. This was within the IDF ranks, and over the decades there have been many sexual assaults, rapes, and other misconduct. None of that is relevant to the topic, which is combat soldiers raping enemy civilians, something that this person claims is simply “what happens in war situations”. Well, it certainly happens with Arab soldiers in all their wars, and Russian soldiers (as notoriously happened in ww2), and Northern US soldiers in the Civil War, and surely many other wars, but it has never happened in the IDF.

Israel! Get a clue! Develop a survival mode. They will never like you.

I personally think that any Congresscritter who openly supports terrorists should be expelled from Congress and be prohibited from ever holding any public office in the future. There goes this Squad. Wouldn’t that be great!

    Milhouse in reply to Photoman42. | December 5, 2023 at 8:27 am

Expelling congressmen for their opinions would go against everything Congress has held for centuries. But even if they were expelled they could not be prohibited from holding office or even from being reelected to the same seats they were expelled from. They could not then be expelled a second time.

Arminius in reply to Milhouse. | December 5, 2023 at 8:42 am

How about not voting for them?

CaptTee in reply to Milhouse. | December 5, 2023 at 9:01 pm

Better to file an ethics complaint about supporting terrorism. Review bank records. find evidence of donations to organizations with records of funding terror groups.

Milhouse in reply to CaptTee. | December 5, 2023 at 10:20 pm

Organizations with a record of funding terror groups don’t exist in the USA, because as soon as they acquire such a record they’re shut down and the people involved go to prison. So they won’t be making any donations to such organizations. Any donations they made before the organizations were caught don’t count, because they can say they didn’t know.

Giving moral support to terrorism is not a crime, and is not against Congressional ethics. I don’t think Congress can discipline a member for that, though it can censure them.

Milhouse, do you ever wonder how things look to the outside world? I knew all that. I know more than you credit me for. Sometimes I pretend not to know just to see what you’re going to do.

How is this response any different than the response to ‘Black Lives Matter’ by saying ‘All Lives Matter’. In both cases the answer deflects from the real issue.

IMO, the honest answer should a straightforward answer saying of course this is problem.

Milhouse in reply to Tim. | December 5, 2023 at 11:00 pm

“All lives matter” doesn’t deflect from the issue, it puts the focus on it. The issue is that the BLM movement’s entire reason for existence is based on the blood libel that anyone thinks black lives don’t matter, and in particular that police think that and therefore go around shooting black people. “All lives matter” directly addresses and rebuts that lie.

In this case there is no lie. The rapes happened. The mutilations, the murders, the behaving like animals, it all literally happened. It’s a fact that all those who express support for the “Palestinians” think Jewish lives don’t matter, and therefore need to be told forcefully that they do.

William Downey | December 5, 2023 at 9:54 am

There can be no moral equivocation. Rape is a crime in a civilized society.

The fact that Hamas employs it as a tactic says everything one needs to know about Hamas.

BiteYourTongue | December 5, 2023 at 10:34 am

Jayapal is a disgusting woman. I hate to even refer to her as a woman, it degrades womanhood. Using the excuse of war to justify rape, torture, mutilation and death is insane. There would be no war, if Hamas hadn’t started one and the balance will be when Hamas is destroyed, and all their supporters are shunned and condemned by society.

Here is how old I am. I refused to believe Naval aviators are rapists. It was after Tailhook. Look it up. I think Milhouse misses my point. Were not Hamas. We prosecute rapists. We don’t give them cult followings

Hamas supporters are almost as guilty as Hamas., and those supporters should face the same fate.

Regarding rape, it is a gang bang thing, causing physical damage, and in some case might lead to infertility. On top of that are STDs.

Making any excuse for rape is as horrendous as the rape itself!

It makes one a co-conspirator after the fact.

Failing to stop a war crime is a war crime.

Justifying a war crime is worse than a war crime!
