Chris Cuomo After Watching Footage Of October 7 Hamas Massacre: “They enjoyed mutilating”

“If an enemy wanted to make sure that Israel would come for them, the message would be to take children, women, innocents and more, tie them up and burn them alive. Just like the Holocaust…. I now know that is exactly the message Hamas sent, on purpose, at scale. I was not aware of that before. They did it methodically. You hear it in the voices, the commands, the ease and excitement of finding and mutilating victims.”

Chris Cuomo, now on News Nation, viewed the 47-minute compilation of Hamas and Gazan ‘civilian’ bodycam and security footage of the October 7 massacre. That video, parts of which already are public but much of which is not, has been shown privately to many hundreds of international journalists and diplomats. Despite what you hear from the October 7 massacre deniers on the internet, I don’t think even a single journalist or diplomat has said that the video contradicts the Israeli position on what happened.

To the contrary, many journalists have come forward with accounts of absolute and boundless barbarity by Hamas and the Gazan “civilians” who crossed the border.

Cuomo bore witness in an almost nine minute monologue.

Here is the full video of Cuomo’s segment:

News Nation has what appears to be a partial and somewhat paraphrased transcription (if anyone finds a full transcription, let me know in the comment section):

Thursday was a very heavy day for me and some of my team members who went to the Israeli consulate to watch some of the footage and images collected from the Hamas massacre carried out on Oct. 7 in Israel.

The 47-minute film from the Israeli military compiles footage from that day, some of which can be found online. But a lot more than I expected was new to me, and I believe people need to see it.

I realized something that I had missed before that took me immediately and deeply into a past trauma: the exact feeling I had when I learned why 9/11 happened. Terrorists targeted the twin towers and Washington, D.C., to take out the great symbols that represent America.

The method was not madness — they were sane but just evil. The method was a message. Their unholy efforts triggered what America feared most: Terrorists robbing us of who and what we are about at home. And so, they got what they asked for — the wrath of a people united in common fear and concern that it is us or it is them. Existential.

We went after those who took credit where we could find them and used warplanes and drones and missiles and every kind of weapon and warrior we have to kill active enemies, those who hid, the complicit, the sympathetic and sometimes, even often at points, the innocent.

If there had been social media then, I don’t know how public opinion at home would have been different, but the fact that they hit us where it hurt is what mattered most.

If an enemy wanted to make sure that Israel would come for them, the message would be to take children, women, innocents and more, tie them up and burn them alive. Just like the Holocaust. The ultimate fear of what the world can bring the Jews’ way when a decision is made that Jews are less than human and treated that way in words and deeds.

I now know that is exactly the message Hamas sent, on purpose, at scale. I was not aware of that before. They did it methodically. You hear it in the voices, the commands, the ease and excitement of finding and mutilating victims. Being told, “Let them play with it.”

Merely murdering innocents was the least of it. They enjoyed mutilating and went back and celebrated in the streets with heads and bloody corpses as trophies. This was absolute genocide. That is a word that people are misapplying, and this is where it does apply.

Even more important to the terrorists apparently was what they left behind: Charred reminders of a Holocaust, the obvious desire to see as many Jews utterly destroyed as possible. There were dead women with bloody groins and twisted, disfigured legs that the Israel Defense Forces says are part of a pattern of rape and torture.

The 47 minutes show a small fraction of the dead, but it makes it very clear that Hamas wanted war. This was not the irrepressible angst of the desperate who want freedom, who want better, nor certainly want anything approximating peace. They wanted the Jews to know that they want them to burn — again.

I now understand better what is fueling Israel. This is not tit-for-tat. They are fueled by the deepest fears of genocide because those fears are real.

I am not trying to erase or in any way mitigate the massive death toll of civilians in Gaza or diminish the obvious need for the violence to stop. If anything, after seeing the video, there is an increased urgency to avoid what could still come because this could get much worse.

However, it is easy to say stop, but it is very hard to say how. Why?

Because seeing what the terror group in charge of Gaza did to the Jews and has promised to do again, how does Israel risk being vulnerable to those who do not honor agreements and have made it very clear they don’t want peace? They want to burn and kill the Jews.

On the suggestion to bomb less and use commandos: How does that not suggest to Israel that they have to do this in a way that Hamas can kill more of them and reduce their advantage? Stop bombing so aid gets in — will Hamas allow it in? They have a history of doing the opposite.

It is not about numbers. It is about Israel being shown its worst fears can be realized because they were.

Cuomo’s assessment is an insight into why Israel is driving as hard as it is to destroy Hamas completely. This is not, as Cuomo notes, tit-for-tat. This is an existential battle for survival against an implacable and inhumane enemy.

Sometime the obvious must be stated. Fredo has found a purpose!

There is some evil that is just extreme and undeniable, and Hamas qualifies with this gruesome stunt.

Of course, some insist on not seeing. Dem blindfolds seem to be permanent.

Does Cuomo understand that this should be an extinction event for all terrorists and those who supported them? Rub them out. We should also be discussing limiting family size for those who are allowed to live, a big part of the problem is too many children who live in poverty because of their parent’s excessive reproduction. This could be accomplished with the water supply. This suggestion is for Thad Jarvis’s benefit. maybe he can figure out another way change Pale’s shit culture.

Still missing from all of this analysis and condemnation is a plain statement about where the blame fairly lies for the rank savagery, barbarism and sadism that is displayed by contemporary Muslim supremacists, terrorists and Islamofascists — with the doctrines and tenets of the intrinsically supremacist, totalitarian, belligerent, hate-filled and pathology-laden ideology of “Submission.”

Instead, European dhimmis and American Dhimmi-crats who contemptibly rationalize, excuse and whitewash Muslim terrorism and atrocities contend that such terrorism is an allegedly legitimate response to an endless litany of alleged Muslim grievance and victimhood at the hands of Jews, Christians and other non-Muslims.

Chris Cuomo is right about Hamas. October 7th was a vicious hostage raid that ensured its savagery would invite retaliation, while capturing hostages to use as negotiating pawns. Hamas cares nothing for the Palestinians trapped in. Gaza, not even their own families. Why now? Because their masters in Iran have ruthlessly concluded that Israel is in a particularly weak position; riddled with internal political divisions, while Israel’s support outside the country has been weakened by pro-Palestinian sympathy in America and Europe. Not to mention the current weak adminsitrtion in the US and our ineffective military. It’s perfect timing from Iran’s viewpoint.

“I now know that is exactly the message Hamas sent, on purpose, at scale. I was not aware of that before.”
Where ya been, Fredo?

I have not seen printed or acknowledged if Biden has taken the effort to sit and watch the same 47 minutes of filmed atrocities. Have I missed something?

Hamas uses human shields because civilized people don’t want to harm non-combatants. The problem is that Hamas exploits that human-shield protection in order to harm non-combatants.

So it’s a dilemma: Israel must either let Hamas kill and torture non-combatants on purpose, or Israel must stop Hamas and unavoidably kill some of their human shields. The two cases are both horrible but they are not morally equivalent.

So is Fredo still voting Democrat? Does he regret his vote for Obama and Biden?

I must admit, Cuomo was very deliberate and concise in his speech. What I implied was Israel needs to completely wipe out Hamas; Gaza needs to be turned into a glass parking lot and I’m sorry for the hostages (easy for me to say as I don’t have any loved ones held hostage) but the hostages have been tortured enough. End their suffering and end Hamas.

Merely murdering innocents was the least of it. They enjoyed mutilating and went back and celebrated in the streets with heads and bloody corpses as trophies. This was absolute genocide. That is a word that people are misapplying, and this is where it does apply.

He still doesn’t get it. He thinks they deliberately acted this way to send a message. That’s not the case. They acted this way because that’s what they do. It’s how they’ve acted since the beginning of this conflict, in the 1920s and even earlier. It’s how they’ve acted since even before this conflict, to their earlier enemies. This is simply who they are.

He’s also still concerned about “the massive death toll of civilians in Gaza” (how does he know how massive it is, or that it’s even massive at all?), and “the obvious need for the violence to stop”. He now understands why Israel is behaving so barbarically (in his view), and is therefore at a loss to know how to persuade it to stop. He still thinks it should stop; he just can’t think of any argument to make that could persuade it.

About time. I never know what to think on an issue until Michelle Obama or Chris Cuomo weighs in.

I’m glad to see someone waking up to the awfulness of the Islamist terrorists. Cuomo is right about the deliberate desire of Hamas to send a message, but Milhouse is right that this is what Islamists do.

Even Muslims have expressed horror at Hamas’ behavior, which is worse this time around, but not really all that much different from ISIS, Al-Qaeda in Iraq, or Hezbollah in Lebanon. Our military had a policy, No One Left Behind because the monsters in Iraq mutilated the bodies of our people, if they could get them.

If the Abraham Accords are going to bring peace to the region, once Hamas is eradicated, whatever society remains in Gaza and the West Bank must be changed to conform to modern expectations of civilization.

It’s like my grammy used to say as she rocked me to sleep, “You don’t teach a rabid dog to fetch the paper. You put it out of its misery.”
