Anti-Israel Student Mob Shouts Down Speech by Brown University President

Brown University President Christina Paxson tried to deliver remarks at a campus vigil for a Brown student who was among the three young Arab men who were shot in Vermont last week. The student survived and is recovering in the hospital.
Unfortunately, Paxson didn’t get very far in her remarks before an unhinged, anti-Israel student mob took over the event.

Hundreds gathered at Brown University for a vigil Monday evening after a Palestinian student was shot and injured in Vermont over Thanksgiving break.
The student, identified as 20-year-old Hisham Awartani, was among three college students injured while visiting his grandmother’s house in Burlington over the weekend.
The suspect, 48-year-old Jason Eaton, has since been apprehended and the shooting is being investigated as a possible hate crime.
12 News was not allowed on campus to attend the vigil, but watched from afar as various speakers addressed the crowd of students huddled together on the College Green.
The vigil took a turn when Brown University President Christina Paxson took to the podium. Students could be heard shouting at her as she attempted to deliver her remarks, according to The Brown Daily Herald.
“We can’t disentangle what happened to Hisham from the broader events in Israel and Palestine that sadly we have been dealing with for decades,” Paxson said. “Sadly we can’t control what happens across the world and country. We are powerless to do everything we’d like to do.”
Paxson was eventually booed off the stage as students chanted “shame on you” and demanded the university divest its endowment from companies that are profiting off the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.
Some outlets are noting the fact that Paxson changed her prepared remarks, dropping a reference to Jews on campus in light of the mob’s hostility.

However, as National Review reported Wednesday, the text of her speech published on Brown University’s website showed she scrubbed mention of Jewish students and staff on campus.
“At a faculty meeting last month, I said that ‘Every student, faculty and staff member should be able to proudly wear a Star of David or don a keffiyeh on the Brown campus, or to cover their head with a hijab or yarmulke,’” Paxson’s written speech read.

Absolutely. Identify the students in the crowd and suspend them for the upcoming semester. Make it known that a second offense will be expulsion. Problem solved, problem staying solved.
Unfortunately, administrations don’t have the cajones to take decisive action because those foreign students from the Middle East leading this pay cash and those schools loves them some cash money.

I went on a safari with a guy from Brown who was graduating to be a doctor or something. Great guy. I asked him why Brown and he said it was near the best surfing on the east coast.

Administrators from K-12 and what used to be higher education are usually duds. with a politician mentality. Not all, but most certainty too many.
If you can’t do, teach. If you’re too stupid to teach, administrate.
