Reading Rainbow’s LeVar Burton has no problem fighting women.
Burton just had to kick off the National Book Awards ceremony by smearing Moms for Liberty because if anyone from the organization attended, he would raise his hands at them:
“Before we get going, are there any Moms for Liberty in the house? No? Good. then hands will not need to be thrown tonight.”
How else does one interpret the statement, LeVar? You would put your hands on a woman?
Moms for Liberty does not ban books. No one has banned books. God forbid parents want books in the age-appropriate spots in libraries.
Why didn’t LeVar say anything about the California district that removed To Kill a Mockingbird from its required reading list? It also eliminated Of Mice and Men and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
How about the teachers in Washington who also want to ban To Kill a Mockingbird?
Oh, wait. Since they’re progressive teachers, they only try to “prohibit” the book.
Different rules, you guys.
Moms for Liberty bit back.
